All it takes is one very bad experience to make you want to quit going somewhere that you rely on for your pet’s health and wellness needs. My dog was suspected to have a UTI. But before they would prescribe an antibiotic, they needed a urine sample. The young (new) vet that we saw suggested the following approach to collect the urine sample: take a sonogram to locate the bladder, sedate my dog, and then extract a urine sample using a needle through her skin/bladder. I was like- can I get a sample the normal (traditional) way by collecting some in a vial while she’s peeing?!? Vet says, oh sure you can do it that way too. Are you serious? What kind of racket is this place trying to pull to take more of my $$ and conduct unnecessary invasive procedures, that are painful for my dog? I used to respect this place when it was run by the former owner Dr Xanthos… now they push unnecessary procedures that are so expensive ALL THE TIME. That’s been the trend the past few years and I always walk out having dropped hundreds and hundreds of $$. I’m switching vets and hope I never have to come back here again.

I recently started bringing my cat, Olive, here because they partner with Thrive. I used to bring Olive to a Thrive Affordable Vet Clinic when we lived in Denver and was very happy with their care. Through Reade’s Thrive program we are able to receive unlimited free exams, 10% of services, and $5 nail trims. This has already worked out very well as I recently had to bring Olive to the emergency vet. While the emergency vet was able to rule out certain things, they discharged us with instructions to get a biopsy from our regular vet. Reade was able to fit us in for an appointment the very next day. They treated Olive with care and explained what tests we would need to run as well as things to keep an eye on at home. The only complaint I have is that they don’t seem to have payment plan for large expenses. I have a pretty tight budget and $350+ ($500+ without the Thrive membership) up front is definitely not in that budget. Fortunately, my family was able to help me out, but it would be great if Reade could offer Scratchpay or CareCredit for things like cytology, blood testing, etc.

Dr. P and all of the staff at Reade Street Animal Hospital are wonderful! They are unfailingly helpful and have an ability to make my dog feel comfortable that I haven’t seen at other vets. Dr. P and Dr. Singh are knowledgeable, caring and put the wellbeing of your pet first. I travel from Brooklyn to Reade Street and I wouldn’t go anywhere else for vet care.

The best. Have been coming here for years. Not sure how on God’s green earth anyone could encounter ‘rudeness’ from the staff at the front desk. That’s absurd. (I chalk it up to the crrrrrrrrrazy entitlement on the part of my beloved Tribeca’s fellow locals. Lol.) With regards to the folks here (front desk, vets & techs included) - they’re amongst the nicest, sweetest group of folks in the city. I would recommend RSAH in a heartbeat. 🐶❤️❤️❤️❤️

Not happy with them I called them four times to get in touch with PetMeds so my dog could get her prescription as a matter of fact I’m on hold now waiting for them to call. Front desk is very unprofessional I have been coming to this office for years but it’s gone downhill you see a different Veterinarian every time you go & has a very quick turnaround. When Dr. Mary Xanthos was in charge it was an excellent clinic now I find the front desk people to be unpleasant & the last veterinarian I had was rude.
