I would give this place zero stars if an option. No way to get a live person. So now it's time to get a hold of the better Business Bureau. They don't care much about their customers as their reviews are horrible. Buyer please avoid wasting your time.

Welcome to Rarebreed Veterinary Partners

Welcome to Rarebreed Veterinary Partners, a prominent name in the veterinary care landscape, with its headquarters located at 27 Pearl St, Portland, ME 04101, USA. While Rarebreed Veterinary Partners operates as a larger network of veterinary hospitals across various states, including general practices, urgent care clinics, and specialty emergency hospitals, this introduction will focus on providing a general overview of the services and philosophy associated with their network, as well as addressing local insights where applicable.

Rarebreed Veterinary Partners was founded in 2018 with a vision to reimagine the veterinary experience. Their mission centers on delivering exceptional patient care, outstanding client service, and creating an amazing employee experience. They pride themselves on a culture built on values of love, respect, and fun, aiming to foster an environment where both pets and the professionals caring for them can thrive. This approach aims to address common industry challenges such as long hours, burnout, and feeling undervalued, by providing comprehensive support to their partner hospitals.

Environment and Facilities

While the specific environment and facilities can vary among the numerous hospitals within the Rarebreed network, the overarching philosophy is to equip their partner clinics with modern equipment and technology to facilitate high-quality medical care. The goal is to create a compassionate and supportive environment for pets, clients, and staff. This often includes well-maintained examination rooms, surgical suites, diagnostic imaging capabilities (such as in-house bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal evaluations, EKG, blood pressure, ultrasound, and digital radiography), and comfortable waiting areas. The emphasis is on building efficient hospitals that allow talented teams to provide individualized veterinary care and attention to each patient.

Services Offered

As a network encompassing general practices, urgent care, and specialty/emergency hospitals, Rarebreed Veterinary Partners’ affiliated clinics offer a broad spectrum of veterinary services. These typically include, but are not limited to:

  • Comprehensive Medical Care: This covers routine check-ups, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and management of chronic conditions.

  • Surgical Services: Many clinics within the network provide various surgical procedures, from routine spays and neuters to more complex soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries.

  • Dental Care: Professional dental cleanings, extractions, and other oral health treatments are often available to maintain your pet's overall well-being.

  • Diagnostic Services: Utilizing modern equipment, their facilities offer in-house laboratory testing (bloodwork, urinalysis), diagnostic imaging (X-rays, ultrasound), and other tools for accurate and timely diagnoses.

  • Emergency and Urgent Care: Some locations within the Rarebreed network are equipped to handle urgent and emergency cases, providing critical care when your pet needs it most. This includes dedicated urgent care clinics like PetMedic, which aim to manage after-hours, non-emergency cases, thereby alleviating pressure on general practices and emergency hospitals.

  • Wellness and Preventative Care: A strong emphasis is placed on preventative medicine to keep pets healthy and prevent diseases before they become serious.

  • Client Education: Veterinary teams are encouraged to educate pet owners on preventative measures and general pet well-being.

Features and Approach

Rarebreed Veterinary Partners distinguishes itself by focusing not only on pet care but also on supporting the veterinary professionals who provide it. This "talent-first" approach is a core feature, aiming to create exceptional work experiences for their hospital teams. Key features include:

  • Supportive Ecosystem: Rarebreed aims to build a strong community among its network of hospitals, encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing among veterinary professionals. This breaks the pattern of isolation sometimes experienced in the veterinary profession.

  • Investment in Staff: They emphasize providing competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits (including medical, dental, vision insurance, 401K with company match, parental leave, pet medical benefits, and continuing education allowances), and opportunities for career development. This focus on employee well-being is intended to result in higher-quality care for pets.

  • Technology and Innovation: Rarebreed integrates technology and provides advanced tools to its partner practices, aiming to enhance efficiency and the quality of care. This includes investing in business operations and technology backends for deep analytics into practice performance.

  • Autonomy for Practices: While providing centralized support for administrative tasks, marketing, and human resources, Rarebreed emphasizes allowing individual practices to maintain their unique culture and focus on practicing medicine their way. They aim to free up time for veterinary professionals to focus on clients and patients.

Promotional Information and Considerations

Rarebreed Veterinary Partners actively promotes its growth and success as an independent network of veterinary practices. They have been recognized for significant revenue growth, expanding their footprint across multiple states from Maine to Florida. Their public messaging often highlights their commitment to building a supportive community for veterinary professionals, which in turn leads to better patient care and client service.

For local users in Portland, ME, it's important to understand that Rarebreed Veterinary Partners is the parent company or network. The direct interaction for pet care will be with one of the specific veterinary hospitals within their network. While the 27 Pearl St address is their headquarters, you would typically seek out one of their affiliated clinics for veterinary services. The phone number provided, (844) 432-7610, is a general contact for Rarebreed Veterinary Partners, which may route inquiries to relevant departments or provide information about their network of clinics.

Regarding customer feedback, it is important to consider the diverse experiences within a large network. The reviews provided, such as difficulty reaching a live person or instances of unprofessional staff conduct, suggest areas where customer service and internal communication may face challenges, especially within a rapidly expanding corporate structure. It's common for large networks to have varied experiences across their multiple locations. For any specific concerns about a particular clinic, it's always advisable to look for reviews pertaining to that individual hospital. Rarebreed's stated aim is to create an exceptional client experience, so any feedback indicating otherwise would be a point of attention for their operational standards.

Was treated very poorly by a lady named Julia. Doesn’t seem like she even wanted to be there. I’ve never understood why people work places with customer service involved and be so nasty. Extremely unprofessional and wouldn’t recommend to anyone

ZERO stars!!! Shut down a clinic with no notice whatsoever, shutting their doors and leaving many animals with no where to go who need their MEDS! Such a disgraceful company. They gave no notice to their employees....so no notice for their clients!! Who does this?? A company who only cares about the bottom line!! They could have given people a noticed!

If I could rate zero stars, I would. This company closed a local clinic without any notice to staff, or to the many clients who go there. They called an emergency meeting, which was letting them know they’d be closing their doors. Because of this despicable and sudden decision, many animals are left without medications, and no where to fill them on such short notice. This company does not care about your pets, you, or the community at large.
