Switched to Preston Animal Hospital a few years ago for the care of our dogs. In that time, I have experienced very easy and fast scheduling (often same day availability), very reasonable pricing, and the friendliest service. I would not hesitate to recommend them to a friend.

Welcome to Preston Animal Hospital

Welcome to Preston Animal Hospital, a pet hospital located in Preston, Connecticut, dedicated to providing veterinary care for your animal companions. Situated at 38 Doolittle Rd, Preston, CT 06365, USA, Preston Animal Hospital offers a range of services for the health and well-being of your pets. You can reach them at (860) 889-4736 or +1 860-889-4736 to inquire about their services or schedule an appointment.

Based on available customer reviews, experiences at Preston Animal Hospital appear to be varied. One long-term customer, who switched to Preston Animal Hospital a few years ago for the care of their dogs, reports positive experiences across several key aspects of their service. They highlight the ease and speed of scheduling appointments, often noting same-day availability, which can be particularly valuable when urgent pet care is needed. This suggests that Preston Animal Hospital prioritizes accessibility and aims to accommodate pet owners' scheduling needs promptly.

Furthermore, this reviewer praises the hospital for its "very reasonable pricing," indicating that their services are competitively priced within the local area. This can be an important factor for pet owners seeking quality care without incurring excessive costs. The same reviewer also commends the "friendliest service" they have consistently received from the staff. A friendly and welcoming environment can significantly enhance the overall experience of visiting a pet hospital, fostering trust and comfort for both pets and their owners. Based on these positive experiences, this customer states that they "would not hesitate to recommend them to a friend," which serves as a strong endorsement of the care and service they have received.

However, another customer shared a deeply disappointing experience involving the office management at Preston Animal Hospital. This account details an incident where the customer arrived a few minutes late for an appointment while already stressed about their very sick senior dog. Instead of being met with understanding or compassion, the customer reports experiencing "unnecessary rudeness" from the office manager. This initial negative interaction reportedly escalated when the customer calmly expressed their dissatisfaction with the way they were spoken to, ultimately leading to a denial of future service.

According to this customer's account, despite attempting to resolve the issue respectfully, they later discovered that their phone number had been blocked, forcing them to contact the office through another line. They were informed by a different staff member that the issue was related to alleged no-shows, which the customer disputes, acknowledging only being late once. They emphasize their commitment to their appointments, especially concerning their dog's health. This narrative paints a picture of a significant breakdown in customer service and communication, with serious consequences for the pet owner's ability to access care for their sick animal.

Despite this negative experience with the office manager, the same reviewer offers a contrasting positive note regarding the veterinary care itself, stating that "the veterinarian himself was kind, professional, and wonderful" with their senior dog. This suggests that the quality of medical care provided by the veterinarian at Preston Animal Hospital is commendable. However, the reviewer expresses regret that the negative behavior of one individual overshadowed what could have been a supportive experience. The act of blocking a client's number and denying care based on personal resentment is described as "unprofessional" and "unacceptable," particularly in the context of a beloved pet's health being at stake.

Considering these two contrasting reviews, it is evident that while some customers have experienced positive aspects such as easy scheduling, reasonable pricing, and friendly general service, there have also been significant issues reported regarding customer service and administrative interactions. Potential clients may find it beneficial to weigh these different perspectives when considering Preston Animal Hospital for their pet care needs.

At this time, no specific information regarding the environment of Preston Animal Hospital is available in the provided reviews. Similarly, there is no detailed list of the specific veterinary services offered, beyond the implication of general care for dogs. Based on the category of "Pet Hospital," it can be generally inferred that they likely provide a range of services such as routine check-ups, vaccinations, treatment for illnesses and injuries, and possibly other diagnostic or surgical procedures. However, without explicit information, it is not possible to provide a comprehensive list of their services.

Furthermore, the provided information does not include any details about current promotional offers or any specific features of the hospital beyond the scheduling ease, pricing, and reported friendliness of some staff members. To obtain detailed information about the environment, a comprehensive list of services, any specific features of the clinic, and any ongoing promotions, it is recommended to contact Preston Animal Hospital directly at the provided phone numbers or visit their location at 38 Doolittle Rd, Preston, CT 06365, USA.

In conclusion, Preston Animal Hospital in Preston, CT, appears to offer some positive aspects such as convenient scheduling and reasonable pricing, as reported by one customer. However, a significant customer service issue involving the office management has also been reported, which potential clients should be aware of. While the veterinarian is described as kind and professional, the overall experience can be significantly impacted by administrative interactions. For a complete understanding of the services, environment, and current practices at Preston Animal Hospital, direct contact is advised.

I’m deeply disappointed with how I was treated by the office manager at Preston Animal Hospital. Last year, I arrived a few minutes late to an appointment while already overwhelmed with concern for my very sick senior dog, Saya. Instead of compassion, I was met with unnecessary rudeness. When I calmly expressed that I didn’t appreciate being spoken to that way, it unfortunately escalated into a complete denial of service moving forward. Despite my effort to resolve things respectfully, I later learned my number had been blocked, and I could only reach the office by calling from another line. I was told by another staff member that the issue was related to supposed no shows, which is inaccurate. I acknowledge being late once, but I always take my commitments seriously, especially when it comes to my dog’s care. The veterinarian himself was kind, professional, and wonderful with Saya. It’s unfortunate that the behavior of one individual overshadowed what could have been a supportive experience. Blocking a client’s number and denying care based on personal resentment is unprofessional and, frankly, unacceptable especially when a beloved pet's health is at stake.

Personal attention was given to my cats for their first visit here. Both of my cats were scratching all the time and he gave each of them a shot - they have stopped scratching and are much happier!

Adopted my dog from Mona’s House rescue and was told this was the vet she has seen since they received her at the shelter. So being a good dog owner I wanted to try and keep my dog with the same vet that knows her history moving forward. BIG mistake as I was told she was never seen initially after arriving at the shelter by this vet for an initial, baseline exam before she was adopted out because she had already come to the shelter “fully vetted”. Before accepting and placing a new dog, wouldn’t you as a professional with the animals best interest at heart want a baseline reading of the animal from the beginning to address any issues for the animal?? When I asked the receptionist and business owner Elana for my dogs full record as promised in the adoption contract I was told that I was given the full record and they hadn’t had a reason to see her at their vet when arriving at the shelter and she didn’t have any answers to my questions surrounding my dogs health because “do you see a computer here? We don’t type our records, we write them.” When asked who they would refer for surgery, we were told not to catastrophize the situation (which if goes untreated could result in my dog losing eye sight which sounds like a catastrophe to me- but what do I know? I’m not a vet or snotty receptionist). When asking questions for clarification, the response I received was very defensive by the receptionist-Elana and told “I could just bring the dog back”- over my dead body. The adoption contract for this shelter that is associated with this vet does not exist for the best interest in the animal, only the shelter as the owner-Elana is shady and unprofessional with no regard for the best interest of the animals they place with no transparency what so ever. I then asked the receptionist- Elana who refers to herself as “we are Mona’s House” to clarify what was communicated to me by her via Facebook messenger to which Elana had stated she “doesn’t converse via messenger” once I showed her the screenshots between her (Elana Rogan Cecil) and I, she had no response. I would do all of your research regarding an animal adopted by this organization as they are not honest nor do their due diligence when accepting and “caring” for new animals placed in their care. Luckily my dog is now in a safe, loving home and will no longer need to be exposed to that kind of neglectful environment. Would HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND this organization to do business with unless the business is to shut the entire organization down as a whole and save all of the pets that are “in their care”. In terms of the vet that saw my dog, I don’t have much to say as it was a five minute interaction to examine my dog and not much clarification or communication on his part. Will definitely go elsewhere moving forward and would suggest you do the same. If I could leave a zero star rating I would due to the zero class, zero professionalism and zero customer service skills as well as zero care for the animals served by the organization. Do yourself the favor and don’t waste your time or money there.
