We got our big old senior rescue from Precious Paws, so we took him back there for a one month checkup; they were so excited to see him, so kind and so thorough, that we now use them for all our pet care. Our old vet charged us over $700 to spay 2 cats; Precious Paws charged us around $75. When people keep dumping pregnant cats, it doesn't take long to have a dozen to care for. When they are there they always answer the phone. When I have a concern they always call back. I go there with confidence.

Welcome to Precious Paws
Precious Paws, located at 3636 PA-257, Seneca, PA 16346, USA, operates as a dedicated "Pet Hospital" and Wellness Center, distinguished by its strong connection to animal rescue efforts and a commitment to affordable, high-quality veterinary care. As a vital resource for pet owners in Seneca and the surrounding communities, Precious Paws offers a wide array of services designed to promote the health and well-being of beloved animal companions, from routine check-ups to critical care and surgical procedures. The clinic is an extension of Precious Paws Animal Rescue, emphasizing a mission rooted in compassion and community service. They opened their full-service SNYP Clinic and Wellness Center on February 10, 2020, at this location, previously Nelson's Animal Clinic, further solidifying their role in local animal welfare.
The environment at Precious Paws is consistently described by clients as welcoming, professional, and filled with kindness and understanding. While specific details about the physical decor or waiting areas are not extensively available, the overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding the staff’s demeanor suggests a calming and supportive atmosphere. Clients highlight the team's genuine excitement and care, especially for animals who have been rescued or are in sensitive situations, such as end-of-life care. This indicates an environment built on empathy, where both pets and their owners feel respected and comforted. The ability of the staff to "make this situation as easy as possible" during difficult times speaks volumes about the clinic's commitment to creating a compassionate space, even in moments of profound sadness.
Precious Paws functions as a full-service veterinary facility, providing a comprehensive range of medical services for pets. Their offerings are geared towards both preventive care and the treatment of illnesses and injuries. Key services include:
Spay/Neuter (SNYP) Clinic: A prominent feature of Precious Paws is their low-cost Spay Neuter Your Pet (SNYP) program. Since its inception in 2014, this program has significantly contributed to controlling pet overpopulation by altering over 12,000 animals. This service is a major draw for pet owners, as evidenced by reviews mentioning remarkably affordable pricing compared to other clinics. They offer scheduled spay/neuter surgeries for both cats and dogs, with specific online scheduling for cats and phone appointments for dogs.
Wellness Exams: Precious Paws offers routine wellness examinations, which are crucial for maintaining a pet's long-term health. These exams help in the early detection of potential health issues and ensure pets receive appropriate preventive care.
Vaccinations: Comprehensive vaccination programs are available to protect pets from common and dangerous diseases. They frequently hold low-cost vaccine clinics, making essential preventive care accessible to more pet owners.
Diagnostics: While specific in-house diagnostic equipment isn't detailed, as a full-service clinic, it is implied that they offer diagnostic capabilities to assess and identify various health conditions, potentially including blood work, urinalysis, and basic imaging.
Surgical Procedures: Beyond spay/neuter, the clinic performs other necessary surgical procedures, although the scope of these advanced surgeries is not explicitly detailed. The presence of a "Surgeon: Dr. Christine Mulliken" alongside Veterinarian Dr. Rainy Waitz suggests a capability for various surgical interventions.
Emergency/Urgent Care: While emergency cases must take priority, the clinic’s responsive nature, as highlighted by client reviews, suggests they strive to address urgent concerns promptly. The ability to always answer the phone or call back quickly in times of concern is a significant aspect of their service.
Compassionate End-of-Life Care: A particularly strong point mentioned in reviews is their empathetic approach to euthanasia. The staff and doctors are praised for their understanding and compassion during such difficult times, helping pet owners cope with the loss of their beloved companions.
Feral Cat Program: Precious Paws has a specialized program for feral cats, offering spay/neuter, deworming, flea treatment, ear mite treatment, and penicillin (if needed) for a low fee, along with ear-tipping. This underscores their commitment to managing community cat populations humanely.
One of the most notable features of Precious Paws is its commitment to affordability without compromising on the quality of care. The substantial difference in spay costs cited by a client—"$75" at Precious Paws versus "$700" elsewhere for two cats—is a compelling testament to their dedication to making veterinary services accessible. This mission is directly tied to their identity as a non-profit animal foster/rescue organization that opened its own clinic to better serve the community.
The staff at Precious Paws consistently receives high praise for their professionalism, kindness, and helpfulness. Reviews commend their responsiveness, noting that they "always answer the phone" and "always call back" when clients have concerns, fostering a sense of confidence and trust. The genuine care and excitement shown when seeing a rescue animal return for a check-up further highlights the team's passion for animal welfare. The compassionate approach during difficult moments, such as euthanasia, also stands out as a core feature of their service, demonstrating a deep understanding of the human-animal bond.
Precious Paws employs experienced veterinarians, including Dr. Rainy Waitz and Surgeon Dr. Christine Mulliken, ensuring a high standard of medical and surgical expertise. Their integrated approach, combining a rescue organization with a full-service clinic, allows them to address a wide spectrum of animal needs, from adoption and population control to routine and emergency veterinary care.
Precious Paws actively promotes its low-cost services, particularly the SNYP program and vaccine clinics. They utilize their association with Precious Paws Animal Rescue to highlight their mission-driven approach to veterinary care. While specific, time-sensitive promotions are not perpetually listed, their consistent offering of significantly lower prices for essential procedures like spay/neuter acts as a continuous promotional draw.
For more specific or current promotional details, including upcoming low-cost vaccine clinics, it is recommended to directly contact Precious Paws at (814) 676-8581 or +1 814-676-8581. Their website (likely associated with pparfranklin.com given search results) is also a valuable resource for announcements regarding their services, events, and any special offers. They also advise considering financial assistance programs like CareCredit for out-of-pocket expenses, demonstrating their understanding of client financial concerns.
In conclusion, Precious Paws in Seneca, PA, stands out as more than just a "Pet Hospital." It is a community-focused veterinary center that combines the compassion of an animal rescue organization with comprehensive and affordable medical services. Their dedication to reducing pet overpopulation through low-cost spay/neuter programs, coupled with a highly praised, empathetic staff, makes them a trusted and invaluable resource for pet owners seeking quality care at 3636 PA-257, Seneca, PA 16346, USA.

Aug 30, 2023 · Heather D Kofaltwe recently had to put our family cat to sleep ,was the hardest thing we had to to do, but the staff here was so caring, they made his last time as comfortable as possible, they even gave him one of his favorite things which was tuna, the care you all showed for him will not be forgot, thanks to the Dr and the staff for your kindness at this hard time
Sep 27, 2023 · donald shontzThey took great care of the kitten someone "gifted" us via tossing it from a car. They dewormed, checked it for fleas, gave it it's first shots etc. The important part was that they fit us in within a day using a drop the kitten off/pick it up later method. Every other vet i called said "sorry, no openings!" But we needed the kitten checked out before it could be around my mom's other cats. They were great!
