Based on the available customer reviews, Potranco Veterinary Clinic appears to be a responsive and accommodating pet hospital. One satisfied pet owner highlighted their positive experience with the clinic's willingness to administer vaccines to their pup without a prior appointment. They further praised the veterinarian and staff as "fantastic," noting their thoroughness in addressing all questions and concerns. This reviewer strongly recommended Potranco Veterinary Clinic for pet owners on the west side of San Antonio, emphasizing their positive interaction and the quality of care received.

Another customer provided insights into some of the additional services offered at Potranco Veterinary Clinic. They mentioned that the clinic "helps with animals" and even provides "small scale pet grooming stuff like trimming nails or such." However, they clarified that services like haircuts are not offered directly at this location. This information suggests that while Potranco Veterinary Clinic's primary focus is on veterinary care, they also extend their services to include basic grooming needs, potentially for convenience and as an added benefit for their clients. The reviewer also noted a connection with Ellison Drive Animal Hospital, which offers boarding and other related services, possibly indicating a network or partnership that allows Potranco Veterinary Clinic to refer clients for services they do not directly provide.

The second review also included an anecdotal observation about a positive interaction between the reviewer's dog, Daisy, and another elderly pug named Betty. This interaction, while not directly related to the veterinary services provided, speaks to the potentially pet-friendly atmosphere of the clinic, where staff might facilitate comfortable interactions between animals. The reviewer also shared a personal anecdote about old photos of their dog, which, while tangential, does not detract from the positive sentiment towards Daisy's current well-being.

While specific details about the physical environment of Potranco Veterinary Clinic are not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, the positive comments about the staff and the services offered suggest a functional and welcoming setting for both pets and their owners. A typical "Pet Hospital" aims to create a clean and comfortable environment for examinations, minor procedures, and client interactions. The fact that they accommodate walk-ins for vaccinations implies an efficient and accessible setup for certain types of care.

Based on the customer feedback, the services offered at Potranco Veterinary Clinic likely include:

  • Vaccinations: Providing essential immunizations to protect pets from various diseases, with the added convenience of potentially accommodating walk-in appointments for this service.
  • Veterinary Examinations: Offering consultations with a veterinarian to diagnose and treat illnesses, as well as to provide preventative care advice. The positive review highlights the veterinarian's thoroughness in addressing questions and concerns.
  • Minor Pet Grooming: Including services such as nail trimming, which suggests a focus on basic pet hygiene and comfort. However, more extensive grooming services like haircuts are likely not offered directly.
  • Referrals for Specialized Services: The mention of a connection with Ellison Drive Animal Hospital indicates that Potranco Veterinary Clinic may facilitate access to services they do not provide in-house, such as boarding and potentially more extensive grooming or specialized medical treatments.
  • General Pet Health Advice: Addressing pet owners' questions and concerns, as noted in one of the reviews, indicating a commitment to client education and support.

The key features of Potranco Veterinary Clinic appear to be their accessibility, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a willingness to accommodate pet owners' needs, such as providing vaccinations without appointments. The positive feedback emphasizes the "fantastic" nature of the veterinarian and staff, highlighting their ability to address concerns and provide helpful service. The inclusion of minor grooming services as an additional convenience also sets them apart. Their connection with Ellison Drive Animal Hospital could be considered a feature that extends the range of available pet care options for their clients.

Currently, the provided information does not contain any specific promotional details, discounts, or special offers from Potranco Veterinary Clinic. To learn about any potential promotions, such as discounts on vaccinations, grooming packages, or first-time client specials, it is recommended to contact the clinic directly at (210) 521-4813 or visit their website or social media pages if available through an online search. Veterinary clinics often have seasonal promotions or offers for routine services.

Pretty good it helps with animals and even does small scale pet grooming stuff like trimming nails or such just don't ask for haircuts or anything the only reason they do this is cuz they are in direct connection with Ellison drive animal hospital which does boarding and other such stuff but apparently it's part of a small scale business chain so At least make sure you're at a place that does this I'm not entirely sure if they do things like this here I just heard that they do from someone with a elderly pug named Betty or something like that who Daisy allowed her to sniff which is nice also the pug doesn't like being sniffed either so it was good they got along old photo from when she was 13 or so years old we don't have her puppy photos since they are on our cricket LG from the year 2007 it was originally created in the year 2003 and transferring data online or through the cables didn't exist back then and micro SD was for handheld gaming consoles and your pager or the predecessor to tablets where you had a Even further miniaturized version of a computer deck so I wasn't able to transfer them over or simply send them to myself through text as the cricket LG existed when texting but not text conversations existed so you couldn't send or receive images or emojis but Daisy is doing fine and good right now

I recently had to make one of the hardest decisions for my beloved dog, and I can’t express enough gratitude to Potranco Veterinary Clinic. From the moment we arrived, the staff showed genuine compassion and understanding. They allowed us the time and space to say our goodbyes without any rush, respecting our grief and emotions. Even though we weren’t ready to let go, their comforting presence and gentle reassurance made the process as peaceful as possible. They truly cared for our furry family member and for us as well, guiding us with kindness through an incredibly difficult moment. Thank you, Potranco Vet Clinic, for your warmth and the compassionate care you provide.

I have read the reviews and all along I thought my case was an isolated incident, but was I wrong. I took my 17 year old cat in because she was eating very little and hardly pooping. They came back with a long list of inflated prices with zero recommendation on her treatment. I didn’t get to speak with the veterinarian and dealt solely with a tattoo covered male technician. Zero compassion, zero empathy. I left with a $400 plus bill and cat food which I later learned was very expensive for cat food…My cat never got better so I decided to have her euthanized. I called for an appointment and to get a quote on the price for the service. The call taker assured me it wouldn’t be too much stating the price is based on the animal’s weight. When I arrived they wanted $600 plus to have her euthanized which included an examination price for the vet to diagnose her. When I told the personnel there about the significant difference in the price quoted, their main concern shifted from my pet’s care to trying to identify the call taker’s name. I left the office and brought my cat home where she passed on her own. STAY AWAY from this place, they don’t care about caring for animals, they only care about making a profit.

Copied from the Ellison Drive location: Our dog snapped her tooth shortly before new years. We took her in and confirmed she needed to have the root extracted. They issued no pain meds and said they would contact us with an estimate. After a week we had received no estimate despite me calling 3 different times. They finally sent me an email and said they would not be issuing any estimates until their surgeon was back from vacation in 3-4 weeks. Why was I not told up front so I could make other arrangements? How are you a "hospital" if you don't have surgical capability for over a month? I asked for our pets records so I could find a new vet. They responded 2 days later with an estimate and claimed they could get her in in 2 days. The estimate was a complete joke. 1600 to extract one tooth. 2k if I wanted her to have IV fluids and such during the procedure. I'll post a screenshot of the estimate. This is extremely typical of this place unfortunately. They constantly nickel and dime everything after making us wait forever and then never letting us talk or ask questions. We have been fighting for weeks to get our cat a simple arthritis shot. Their sister clinic, Potranco Veterinary Clinic, is just as bad. I took my dog to Animal Hospital of Westover Hills, got in immediately, got an estimate for 500 with only 5 line items on it, and a surgery date 2 days out. Will be transferring our other 4 pets there if the experience is good.
