The people here are very friendly, but I'm disappointed with how my cat was treated. I took him in several times because he was refusing to eat and was only given appetite stimulants, but no clear explanation as to WHY he wasn't eating. I took him to a different vet just to get a second opinion, only to find out he has lung cancer AND asthma. A more thorough examination might have diagnosed both of these problems way sooner. I appreciate everything they have done for my cat over the years, but I wish he had been treated with more care. :(

Welcome to Pleasant's Animal Hospital Inc

Pleasant's Animal Hospital Inc, located at 2909 W Prospect Rd, Ashtabula, OH 44004, USA, serves the local community as a dedicated Pet Hospital providing veterinary care. Accessible by phone at (440) 998-1446 or mobile at +1 440-998-1446, this facility offers a range of services and goods aimed at maintaining the health and well-being of animal companions. As a Pet Hospital, their primary function is to offer medical, surgical, and preventive care for pets, along with related products for sale to support pet health.

The environment at Pleasant's Animal Hospital Inc, based on client feedback, presents a nuanced picture. While the staff are described as "very friendly," suggesting a welcoming general atmosphere for clients, concerns have been raised regarding the thoroughness of diagnostic approaches in some cases. However, in stark contrast, during highly sensitive times such as end-of-life care, the environment is praised for its compassion and support. The provision of a "private room" for families to be present through the entire process of saying goodbye to their "fur baby" indicates a deliberate effort to create a peaceful and intimate setting. This particular aspect highlights an understanding of the emotional needs of pet owners during difficult moments, ensuring a dignified and respectful farewell.

As a Pet Hospital, Pleasant's Animal Hospital Inc provides a spectrum of veterinary services. These generally include routine wellness examinations, vaccinations vital for disease prevention, and various diagnostic procedures to identify health issues. The reviews specifically mention the provision of appetite stimulants, indicating that they address symptoms of illness. However, one client's experience suggests that while symptomatic relief may be offered, a more in-depth diagnostic investigation to uncover the underlying cause of a persistent issue might sometimes be desired. This highlights a need for comprehensive diagnostic approaches in complex cases. Conversely, a prominent service feature where they excel is end-of-life care. Clients attest to their ability to help pets transition peacefully, making sure the animal is no longer in pain. The private room provided during this sensitive process underscores their commitment to humane and compassionate care during a pet's final moments, allowing families to grieve and say their goodbyes in a supportive environment. While not explicitly detailed, a comprehensive Pet Hospital typically also offers surgical services, dental care, parasite control, and nutritional counseling, alongside a range of over-the-counter pet health products.

The key features of Pleasant's Animal Hospital Inc, as gleaned from customer reviews, are multifaceted. On one hand, the staff are consistently described as "very friendly," contributing to a generally pleasant interaction for clients. This friendly demeanor helps to foster a sense of approachability and comfort. On the other hand, a significant feature, and perhaps a point of differentiation, is their exceptional compassion and attentiveness during end-of-life services. The ability to provide a private, supportive space for families to say goodbye to their pets, ensuring the animal's comfort and peaceful transition, is highly valued. The staff's kindness and attentiveness during such a profoundly emotional time are repeatedly praised, showcasing their dedication to not only the physical well-being of the pet but also the emotional well-being of the pet owners. This compassionate approach in critical moments speaks volumes about the ethos of the hospital. However, it is also important to note that one review suggests that while general care and symptom management are provided, there might be instances where more exhaustive diagnostic efforts are needed to uncover underlying conditions, indicating an area where some clients perceive room for improvement in thoroughness.

Promotional information, while not formally presented in the provided text, is implicitly conveyed through the heartfelt testimonials. The gratitude expressed by the family whose "fur baby was no longer in pain" and their appreciation for being "able to all be there in a private room through the whole process" serves as powerful word-of-mouth promotion for their end-of-life care services. This demonstrates a deep understanding of the human-animal bond and the emotional needs of grieving families. The "kind and attentive" nature of the staff during such a sensitive time acts as a compelling reason for others facing similar decisions to consider Pleasant's Animal Hospital Inc. While there is also feedback suggesting a desire for more comprehensive diagnostic approaches in some medical cases, the overwhelming positive sentiment around their compassionate care during critical periods is a strong indicator of their strengths and dedication to supporting pets and their owners during challenging times.

For residents of Ashtabula, OH, Pleasant's Animal Hospital Inc offers veterinary services with a noticeable strength in compassionate end-of-life care. Their friendly staff create a welcoming environment, and their dedicated approach to ensuring comfort and privacy during a pet's final moments is highly commendable. While some clients might seek more extensive diagnostic investigations for complex chronic conditions, the hospital's empathetic support during critical times, particularly end-of-life decisions, makes them a valued resource in the community. Their commitment to alleviating pain and providing a dignified farewell highlights their humane approach to animal care.

They helped us make sure our fur baby was no longer in pain. We were able to all be there in a private room through the whole process and they were so kind and attentive.

Pleasant's took my dog in with an emergency after our regular vet turned us away. We were given immediate care and results. Saved us from driving to Cleveland for an ER visit. We will be transferring to Pleasants.

Worst experience ever. If you care about your animal DO NOT take them here. Told us our dog was having an emergency. Kept him for 5 hours. Did no treatment and told us to go to the emergency room. But yet charged $500 very rude staff. Neglected us and our dog. Disgusting. EDIT: In response to your reply of my review, I want to add that this is very false. I was never given a quote, no one ever told me that he needs to urgently go to the emergency room until five hours later as I awaited speak to someone. You are not legally allowed to be posting medical records no matter how inaccurate and false they are Publicly. When I took Winston to Metro in Highland Heights, they told me his lab values were Fine and they sent me home with G.I. protection medication’s and explained to me how vital it is to give them right away..which was very nice Considering no one gave me any medication’s to take home from your vet Office. I was never informed that it was surgery Day or that you were short staffed until Winston was already in the basement and that I would never be able to speak to the actual veterinarian or I would have never came but I was Falsely assured by this establishment that you Were capable of handling treatment for Winston, which obviously was another lie that has been told by you. I truly don’t think Winston was seen by a licensed veterinarian at Pleasants animal hospital. I am also skeptical that he may not have even received the treatments that I got billed for because he was locked Away in a basement for hours. By the way, I’m still awaiting a call from a licensed veterinarian there to explain to me Winston’s test results as they never were explained in office. I will be filing a police report due to public falsification of records and the neglect that fell upon my dog this day. Also, if you are truly sorry Then why didn’t you apologize in the first place? As opposed to messaging, calling, and spamming people that commented on my post? You also need to get your “records” straight because your post on FB states he was bright eyed and acting normal so it didn’t seem like an emergency, so he was seen in between patients as available, But this post states that it was an emergency and he was seen immediately. So which one is it? Because I surely wasn’t informed of this until 5 hours later. Shame on you. And to say that your staff is caring and passionate is yet another lie because they ignored my cries for help and mocked me a when I was leaving.

Pleasant's Animal Hospital saw and treated my sick elderly cat when no one else would (not even as an emergency). The staff has calm soft tone voices and they move around with quiet efficiency. This is what put me at ease about leaving my best pal alone, in a strange place, for the first time. The cost though high, was no more than anywhere else and we'll worth it. My buddy was feeling better by evening, and his social loving self the next morning! My experience with Pleasant's Animal Hospital was excellent!
