I recently had a disappointing experience at La Mesa Pet Hospital. To start on a positive note, the attendant at the front desk was really sweet—she was probably the smoothest part of the visit. However, the rest of my experience was not as pleasant. Upon entering the exam room, the first attendant I interacted with seemed distant and unwelcoming, which made me feel uneasy. She abruptly instructed me to close the door without explanation, and her tone felt unnecessarily harsh. She then stood in the corner and began asking questions about my dog's health in a manner that came across as aggressive. I wasn't sure if I had done something to cause this reaction, and while I initially responded in kind, in hindsight, I recognize that wasn’t the best approach. Additionally, the veterinarian arrived late to the scheduled appointment. When she mentioned she had been "busy in the back room," I couldn't help but feel misled, as I had overheard casual conversations and jokes while waiting. It seemed as though she wasn’t aware I was there until someone else informed her, which was frustrating. Furthermore, I felt pressured into additional services beyond what I had originally requested. I only needed the Bordetella vaccine, but I was required to see the vet and subsequently was given an invoice that charged for extra fees and upsold on treatments I didn’t feel were necessary. This made me question whether my pet’s best interests were truly the priority. Overall, I left feeling unwelcome, as though I was not the intended clientele for this practice. If that is the case, I will be looking for another veterinary provider. I hope this feedback is taken constructively to improve future patient experiences.

I just love doctor Nova. Shes so incredibly great at her job and it is so obvious she loves what she does. Our puppy is sick but theres a number of things it can be so she walked us through all the possible causes, of course after allowing us to thoroughly talk about everything that seems to be wrong/different/off with our puppy. I have never felt so heard and understood by a medical Professional. Too bad she only takes care of animals otherwise i‘d see her myself.

I truly love this vet! Dr Leto helped me with my dog Sadie. I did not realize Sadie was very sick. Dr Leto knew immediately what was going on. We had to take Sadie to an emergency room and we chose the Sorrento Valley hospital run by UC Davis. Sadie is still very sick but since she got treatment immediately she will survive. I can’t thank Dr Leto enough!!

They had a whole new front office of employees which was great they needed fresh blood in there. The service center we got this morning from there was a hundred times better than the service with the old folks that were there. They were so fast and doing everything it was awesome they gave one doggy a shot and my other doggy had to get verification for vaccination of rabies they were on top of it like Jim Beam they did a great job thank you.😎
