I had to bring my Lilly (cat) last night to be out to sleep I didn't want her to suffer. This was the most caring and professional staff. An experience I didn't want to experience but they were very gentle caring and compassionate. Even made a paw print to keep and fur in bottle with a heart. Wrapped her gently in her blankets and a coffin shaped box so we could take her home to bury her. The vets examined her before putting her down so we knew this was the time to do so, I never left my baby's side.i highly recommend this staff and I am very much appreciated for y'all's kindness.

Palmetto Animal Urgent Care Introduce
For pet owners in Spartanburg, South Carolina, seeking immediate and professional veterinary care, Palmetto Animal Urgent Care, located at 1248 Southport Rd, stands out as a dedicated "Pet Hospital" focused on addressing urgent medical needs. Unlike general veterinary practices that often operate on an appointment basis, urgent care facilities are equipped and staffed to handle situations requiring prompt attention, offering a crucial service for unexpected pet illnesses and injuries.
Based on the overwhelmingly positive customer reviews, the environment at Palmetto Animal Urgent Care is characterized by a caring, professional, and efficient atmosphere. One particularly poignant review from an owner who had to bring their cat in for euthanasia highlights the staff's exceptional compassion and gentleness during an emotionally challenging time. The provision of keepsakes such as a paw print and fur in a bottle, along with the gentle wrapping of the pet and the option for the owner to stay by their side, speaks volumes about the clinic's commitment to empathetic care. This suggests a comforting and supportive environment for owners facing difficult end-of-life decisions for their beloved pets.
Another review emphasizes the attentiveness and helpfulness of the staff in diagnosing and treating an Italian Greyhound whose symptoms developed rapidly. The swift diagnosis and subsequent supportive care, including IV fluids and pain medication administered over the weekend, indicate a well-equipped facility capable of handling acute medical conditions. This suggests an environment where pets experiencing sudden illness can receive prompt and effective treatment to stabilize their condition.
Furthermore, a reviewer noted the team's ability to quickly respond to more urgent cases that presented while their pet was being treated. The observation of the staff "jumping into action" to care for other animals with more critical needs underscores the clinic's readiness and capacity to handle emergencies efficiently. This suggests a well-organized and responsive environment where critical cases are prioritized and addressed without delay.
The primary service offered by Palmetto Animal Urgent Care is the provision of immediate veterinary care for illnesses and injuries that require prompt attention but may not necessarily be life-threatening emergencies requiring a full-service emergency veterinary hospital. This includes services such as diagnosis and treatment of sudden illnesses (like the Italian Greyhound's case), management of pain, administration of fluids and medications, and compassionate end-of-life care when necessary.
A key feature of Palmetto Animal Urgent Care, as highlighted by the reviews, is the compassionate and professional nature of its staff. The team is described as "very gentle, caring, and compassionate," indicating a strong focus on the well-being and comfort of both the pets and their owners during stressful times. The emphasis on clear communication, as seen in the veterinarian's examination before euthanasia to ensure it was the appropriate time, also points to a commitment to keeping owners informed and involved in their pet's care.
The clinic's ability to handle urgent situations efficiently is another significant feature. The quick diagnosis and treatment of the Italian Greyhound, as well as the rapid response to more critical incoming cases, demonstrate a well-functioning team and the necessary resources to address urgent medical needs effectively. This is crucial for pet owners who cannot wait for a regular veterinary appointment when their animal is in distress.
The provision of thoughtful and comforting gestures during euthanasia, such as paw prints, fur keepsakes, gentle wrapping, and a coffin-shaped box, further distinguishes Palmetto Animal Urgent Care as a facility that goes above and beyond in providing compassionate end-of-life care. This level of sensitivity and support can be invaluable for owners grieving the loss of their beloved companions.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available in the provided reviews. Urgent care facilities typically focus on providing immediate care rather than routine or preventative services that might be subject to promotions. However, pet owners seeking urgent care for their animals in the Spartanburg area should contact Palmetto Animal Urgent Care directly at (864) 764-4504 or +1 864-764-4504 for information about their services, hours of operation, and any specific protocols for urgent visits.
In conclusion, for residents of Spartanburg, SC, and the surrounding areas, Palmetto Animal Urgent Care serves as a highly recommended "Pet Hospital" specializing in urgent veterinary needs. The consistent praise for their caring and professional staff, efficient handling of cases, and compassionate approach, particularly during difficult times like euthanasia, underscores their commitment to providing quality care when it's needed most. While specific details about the clinic's environment beyond its functionality for urgent care are limited, the positive reviews suggest a supportive and well-equipped facility. Pet owners facing unexpected pet health issues can find reassurance in the positive experiences shared by others who have entrusted their animals to the care of Palmetto Animal Urgent Care.

Apr 09, 2025 · Dawn ScruggsThe staff was very attentive and helpful with our Italian Greyhound. His symptoms came on quick and they quickly diagnosed him. They supported him over the weekend with IV and pain meds, etc. While there, they had two other dogs come in with more urgent issues than ours. The team jumped into action to take care of them. I hope we don't have to go back but thankful they are there!
Apr 13, 2025 · Judy HortonThey saved my baby cat. They were so passionate and caring towards our situation. They got us in very quickly with our emergency and handled our baby with so much care. We appreciate them for all they have done. Would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs veterinary care for their animals(Our baby was attacked by a coyote.)
Jun 27, 2024 · Nicole CrawfordWe came here sunday morning around 8:30 and left around 9:30 with good news. Everyone was super friendly and nice to us. They helped us get my small dog comfortable with pain meds after having a fall. I was scared of having an unnecessary x ray done or being charged an arm or a leg but it was way under what I’ve paid before. $150 for the emergency visit and only a few bucks for 2 meds to get her comfy and pain free. She is back to playing 3 days later and acting like herself again. I’m so grateful for this place
Mar 19, 2025 · Emily ChavezI recently had to bring my English Bulldog here, because she had to have an emergency on a Saturday, right?? Great service, caring professionals. Was it pricey? Yes,but not unreasonable. And it IS after hours. Definitely worth it! Oh, and my baby is fine. This place is more than just an urgent care- they are fully capable of surgery also. Mine did not need it, but it is so nice to not have to go to Greenville.
