Olive Branch Animal Clinic

I met Dr Ruth when I was 15 years old in 1999. She was then and is now the best vet I have ever delt with. I have had my own dogs and around 20 rescue dogs and cats in this office in that time and she still has my 100% confidence. She and her staff are down to earth and regular dog and cat loving people like the rest of us. Trust this clinic and you won't be sorry. It's a come and wait in line practice but they are worth it. I promise.

They don't take appointments. Walk-in only. Two days in a row, took off work the first day, walked in to get second set of puppy shots that were due (even got a postcard in the mail for January 8th) and was told "doctor was in surgery, try again tomorrow." Husband went the 2nd day, and there was a sign on the counter, "no more walk-ins today, doctor in surgery." BULLSHIT! Gotta find another vet. As much as I love Dr. Ruth, (and I hear she's getting ready to retire), I will NOT use them or recommend them. If this new Dr. can't do better than that, rain on 'em!

Friendly staff that truly cares about the clients and their pets. Outstanding value, too, compared to other pet care pricing.

The staff have zero sense of urgency especially the lady with the short blonde hair named cindy. I brought my cat at 10:30 a couple of days ago because he wasnt eating that morning and had balance issues. Cindy tells me to come back at 2 o clock because they dont have any doctors at the moment. Luckily he seemed stable atm so I thought everything would be fine. By the time 2 rolls around hes not walking on his own and just sleeping in my arms. I take him there thinking this is obviously an emergency theyre going to give him the help he needs. Nope. I then have to wait in the lobby for over an hour. At one point Cindy tries sending me back home to get my ID not even acknowledging my baby dying in my arms. Thankfully they were able to take the person who gave me a rides ID. At about 3:30 we finally get into doctors office and Cindy takes his temperature, the entire time she has an attitude. The Dr finally comes in a little before 4 to look at him takes him to the back to get blood work and then he passed away. The doctor said he had to have been born with leukemia and his red blood cell count was low. To twist the knife in the wound even more she says we mightve been able to save him if he got a blood transfusion in time. They bring me his body for me to say goodbye and then later while im crying holding my baby Cindy decides to come in and tell us she cant get us a box to bury him in until we pay our $118 bill. I asked her while Im breaking down why they didnt look at him and she said "I didnt have any doctors, hes been sick for a long time" THEY DO NOT CARE. If they wouldve told the doctor that I had an emergency and gotten my baby treatment when I came up there instead of leaving us waiting in the lobby for him to die I might still have my baby. Absolute lack of care and empathy for the animals theyre supposed to be caring for its completely disgusting and I hope nobody ever trusts this place with urgent needs again.

Overall I had a really good experience! I got there past the time the vets were out but they saw me anyway! I literally thought my cat was dying. Turns out he had an infection! Most of the staff were great outside of Cindy! She was frankly, rude! As I was explaining what the problem was she cut me off before I could finish. Her overall demeanor seemed like she was irritated to even be speaking with me! Not a good attitude to have when people are scared for their beloved pets!
