Welcome to Olean Veterinary Clinic
Olean Veterinary Clinic, situated at 1620 W State St, Olean, NY 14760, USA, serves the local community as a Pet Hospital providing veterinary care for animal companions. They can be contacted at (716) 372-5658 or +1 716-372-5658 for inquiries about their services or to schedule appointments. As a Pet Hospital, they aim to address the medical needs of pets in the Olean and surrounding areas. However, a review of recent customer feedback reveals contrasting experiences that potential clients should consider.
Details regarding the specific environment of Olean Veterinary Clinic are not extensively provided in the available reviews. Therefore, a comprehensive description of the clinic's ambiance or facilities cannot be accurately constructed based solely on this information. Potential clients may need to seek additional information about the clinic's environment directly from the hospital or through other sources.
As a Pet Hospital, Olean Veterinary Clinic likely offers a range of veterinary services typical of a general practice. These commonly include routine wellness examinations and vaccinations to maintain the health of pets. Diagnostic services, such as laboratory testing and imaging (like X-rays), are usually available to aid in the diagnosis of various medical conditions. The hospital would also likely provide medical treatment for illnesses and injuries, as well as surgical services, ranging from routine procedures to more complex operations. Dental care, including teeth cleaning and extractions, is another common service offered by Pet Hospitals to ensure the overall health of pets.
The customer reviews for Olean Veterinary Clinic present a mixed perspective. One reviewer expressed extreme satisfaction with the care their pet received during a recent visit for multiple tooth extractions due to tartar buildup. They specifically praised "Dr. Mike" and described the clinic's handling of their pet as "fantastic," even stating that "20 Stars is not enough!!!" This strongly positive feedback suggests that at least one of the veterinarians at the clinic provides excellent care and has a positive rapport with both pets and owners.
However, the second review presents a significant concern regarding communication about treatment costs. This pet owner brought their cat in for a cut leg. They were initially quoted $125 for the examination fee ("to be seen") and were told the subsequent costs would be determined from there. After the cat was treated and stitched up, the owner was presented with a bill of $530. The crucial point of contention is that the staff reportedly "never came out and said anything until they were done" regarding the additional costs beyond the initial examination fee. This lack of communication and transparency about the escalating charges is a serious issue that could lead to unexpected financial burdens and a feeling of mistrust for pet owners.
Given the stark contrast in these two recent experiences, it is challenging to provide definitive promotional information. The highly positive review for Dr. Mike and the handling of a complex dental procedure could be seen as a testament to the quality of veterinary care available at the clinic. However, the serious concern raised by the other reviewer regarding the lack of communication about treatment costs cannot be ignored. Transparency in pricing and open communication with pet owners throughout the treatment process are essential aspects of trustworthy veterinary care.
For local users in Olean, NY, considering Olean Veterinary Clinic as a potential Pet Hospital for their animals, the available feedback offers both encouragement and caution. The positive experience with Dr. Mike suggests that skilled and caring veterinary professionals are part of the practice. However, the negative experience regarding unexpected and uncommunicated charges is a significant red flag. Potential clients may want to inquire specifically about the clinic's policies on providing cost estimates for procedures and ensuring clear communication with pet owners before treatment. It would be prudent to discuss potential costs upfront and ensure that they are comfortable with the clinic's communication practices regarding fees. While the quality of medical care appears to be high in some instances, the potential for unexpected financial burdens due to a lack of communication is a serious factor to consider when making a decision about your pet's healthcare provider.

Mar 20, 2025 路 Adam CollinsDr Kelly and his staff are wonderful! We have had several pets over the years, and they have always been fantastic with them. Our older dog died in January, and while at an appointment for our cat, Dr Kelly made mention of the dog and expressed his sympathy. His comments made it obvious that he really did remember and like our dog. He wasn't just pretending that he remembered him. I recommend Dr Kelly's practice to anyone with a pet!

May 22, 2023 路 SabrinaI have taken our pets to Dr. Kelly for about 8 years. I have found him to be a wonderful, knowledgeable, veterinarian! He answers my questions, and has always taken concerns I have about our animals seriously. He is a caring and compassionate professional, especially when we had to say goodbye to two of our pets. The staff are likewise kind and caring! I always recommend him to people looking for a veterinarian, and I wouldn't trust my 6 animals to anyone else!!
