We had to put our sweet girl Moe to rest today after finding out just last yesterday that she had cancer. She went downhill very fast. We saw Dr. Butler for the diagnosis. She was excellent at explaining what she saw and coming up with an action plan. We then went in today and saw Dr. Scarborough who performed euthanasia. Both Dr. Scarborough and the women that helped her were very kind and comforting. We are very thankful to the whole team at Old Dominion Animal Health Center. My husband and I are owners of a dog boarding and daycare facility and have dealt with a lot of veterinarians. I would highly recommend Old Dominion to our clients, friends and family.

Dec 14, 2024 · Tricia PortmanThis place is a ripoff. I brought my puppy in for boarding for one day, 8am to 6pm. It cost $80, which included $20 for one play session. Never going back. The problem is I made a reservation to board my puppy. No one said anything about additional charges. They know the dog because she has received shots there. When I arrived, I filled out the forms. No one said she could not be boarded and had to be placed in the hospital. I was told she had to go "upstairs" because she is a puppy. Again, there was no mention of additional charges . Moreover there are no rates posted. I was shocked to receive a bill for $60 for half a day. Only then was I told she had to be put in the hospital because she did not yet have all of her shots. When I complained, I was told that it had been explained to me that she would be placed in the hospital, which is false. If I had been told that she could not be boarded and had to be placed in the hospital section, I would have kept her at home.
Oct 24, 2024 · John FeldhausI wouldn’t go to any other vet clinic. The front desk staff are responsive, the vets are caring and careful and so accommodating. ODAHC really knows how to handle Henry and his fussiness. Professionals through and through.
Nov 16, 2024 · christel fonzo-eberhardThe facility is great and the staff is kind, but it is really really expensive. My dog needed just a rabies booster and I asked for just the vaccine, but the total bill ended up being $178. $105 of that was for an exam that I didn't want or need. The dog needs to be healthy enough to give a vaccine to, but that is covered by the tech's vital sign check and questionnaire. The exam itself was about 15-30 seconds of looking at the dog's teeth and hips - she's not even 2 years old. They try to sell you a bunch of different things to the point where it feels like a money grab. We also had to wait about 30 minutes to get the vaccine once we got into the exam room.
