Do NOT recommend. Especially if you have a dog part PITBULL!! We have the sweetest boy! Our amazing clinic and doctor retired and closed down after our dog was loved greatly at All About Animals in Shawano WI for 6+ years. Our dog is going to 8 years old this year. He suffered Blasto when he was just over a year old. He almost died but we had the best vet. He save our dog. Unfortunately since his blasto our sweet boy needed to be muzzled ever since he had something shoved up his butt when had blasto. When muzzled correctly he’d only growl when he was be touched by the doctor when doctor would go near his bask side. I EXPLAINED THIS TO THEM WHEN WE MADE THE INITIAL APPOINTMENT AND WHEN WE FIRST ARRIVED AT THEIR CLINIC. They FAILED to relay the information. We then get taken back to a room. The lady that brought us back to the room was NOT AWARE that we recommended that he be muzzled because she put her hand near his back end and my dogged moved away and growled. I then EXPLAINED AGAIN TO HER WHAT I TOLD THE LADIES UP FRONT WHEN WE CHECKED IN. She then gave us a very flimsy cotton made muzzle that could only be pulled tighter with a small plastic piece. The lady then left the room to go get the doctor. When the doctor and another lady came into the room the lady was VERY RUDE. She told my husband to “tighten that more” my husband assumed she was talking about his collar because it was extremely loose so he started to and then the lady raises her voice and rudely says “not this on top” as she aggressively reaches over my already frightened dog and she grabs the top of the muzzle and my dog then again growls and moves. The doctor and her both kept making comments how my dog going to bite them he’s a pitbull. Our dog is due for a rabies vaccination which is the main reason for our initial appointment but we also wanted his teeth checked and the First Lady also had recommended a Lymes vaccination and 2 other ones I can’t remember that we agreed to get this first visit! Then doctor then stated he’d give our dog the rabies for the sake of out safely but then he never wanted out PITBULL back in his clinic. We then stated we didn’t even want him to do that and that wed be happy to leave not vaccinating our dog. We left and said we seek a new clinic. This clinic did NOT have a welcoming environment right from the moment we walked in. The communication between the workers there is horrible. They also have a recent visitors board with pictures of all the recent dogs and cats they’ve seen. Not a single PITBULL or mix in any of the pictures. I also believe that if the doctors were more caring and loving of animals they would took their time with my dog letting him sniff them whatever. Instead they were mean from the beginning with their raised voices and just reaching at our dog whom they’ve never met before. We scheduled our appointment at the beginning of December and was told they were booking into February already. Because I read such great reviews on google we decided it would be worth the wait and drive. But NO. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. We settled for something kinda close to home but we’ll drive as far as needed for a great Veterinarian. THIS PLACE WAS NOT IT.

Oconto Veterinary Center Introduce
Welcome to an introduction of Oconto Veterinary Center, a Pet Hospital located in Oconto, Wisconsin, USA. For local users seeking veterinary care for their pets, it's important to have a comprehensive understanding of what this Pet Hospital offers. Oconto Veterinary Center is situated at 6220 Van Hecke Ave, Oconto, WI 54153, and can be contacted at phone number (920) 834-5858 or mobile phone +1 920-834-5858. While specific details about the clinic's environment are not readily available, pet hospitals typically provide examination rooms, and potentially surgical and diagnostic areas to cater to the medical needs of animals.
The provided information includes two customer reviews that offer contrasting perspectives on the services and environment of Oconto Veterinary Center. It is crucial to consider both viewpoints to form an objective understanding.
One review expresses significant dissatisfaction with the clinic. This customer recounts an experience where they felt their dog, described as a sweet Pitbull mix with a history requiring a muzzle for certain procedures due to a past medical issue, was not handled well. According to the review, there was a lack of communication among the staff regarding the dog's need for a muzzle. The reviewer describes a staff member being unaware of this, leading to the dog growling. Furthermore, the type of muzzle provided was deemed flimsy. The review details an interaction with a staff member who was perceived as rude and aggressive towards their dog, particularly concerning the muzzle. The reviewer also mentions comments made about their dog being a Pitbull and the doctor's reluctance to have the dog back after administering a rabies vaccination. This customer felt the environment was unwelcoming from the start, criticized the internal communication, and noted the absence of Pitbulls or mixes on a recent visitors' board. Ultimately, this customer strongly advises against visiting Oconto Veterinary Center based on their negative experience.
The second review also recounts a negative outcome. In this instance, the customer's dog was ill with diarrhea and bloating, and a foreign body was found in the stomach. The reviewer states that the clinic recommended medication over surgery, a decision the reviewer believes led to their dog's death. They mention that a vet in Appleton suggested surgery initially might have had a different outcome. This review expresses heartbreak and blames the Oconto Veterinary Center for the loss of their five-year-old dog.
Considering these two reviews, it is challenging to ascertain the typical services and features of Oconto Veterinary Center positively. The feedback highlights potential issues with communication, handling of specific dog breeds, and diagnostic and treatment recommendations. While these are individual experiences, they raise concerns about the consistency and quality of care provided. Typically, a Pet Hospital would offer services such as vaccinations, diagnostics, surgery, dental care, and general wellness check-ups. However, based on the provided reviews, it's difficult to objectively detail the positive features of these services at Oconto Veterinary Center.
Regarding promotional information, none is available within the provided text. Pet hospitals sometimes offer introductory deals or seasonal specials, but there is no mention of such offers for Oconto Veterinary Center in the given reviews.
In summary, the available information regarding Oconto Veterinary Center, primarily from two customer reviews, paints a concerning picture. One review details issues with communication, staff attitude towards a specific dog breed, and overall unwelcoming environment. The other review recounts a tragic outcome where the reviewer believes the clinic's treatment decision led to their dog's death. For local users considering this Pet Hospital, it is important to be aware of these experiences. Without additional positive feedback or specific details about their facilities and services, it is challenging to provide a standard positive introduction. Potential clients may want to seek further information or consider these reviews when making decisions about their pet's care.

Feb 03, 2025 · HelenaMy dog came in because he had been sick with diarrhea and bloating for weeks and they found a foreign body in his stomach and they decided that the best option was to put him on medication, when my parents wanted to get him surgery but they didn’t recommend it. He only got worse from there and February 1st my dog had to be put down because he had bones in his stomach and the medication forced it into his intestines which cause the bones to puncture his stomach so he got septic and had to be put down. The vet in Appleton told us it would’ve been a whole different story if he would’ve gotten the surgery to begin with. It would’ve given him the opportunity to still be here. Me as-well as my entire family are very heartbroken and hurting because this vet was the reason for the death of our dog. He was only 5 years old and had many more years that he could’ve lived.
Feb 03, 2025 · AshlinDr Holder, Amber, and the rest of the staff went out of their ways to help us when our dog became suddenly ill. Unfortunately we've been through this before with our dog that loves to eat everything especially soft items that won't show up on xray. The last experience was in southern Wisconsin and it felt like at every turn we were having cash squeezed out of us and made to feel guilty when questioning whether to do the next test. Dr Holder and his staff were the complete opposite of that experience, he was able help us come up with a logical treatment algorithm that balanced caring for our sick dog while also being fiscally conscious. We can't thank you guys enough for going out of your way to accommodate and take care of our Walter.
Feb 08, 2023 · Tim WollakThe staff at this facility was so kind. The Dr. is a true pet whisperer! Every pet he encounters adores him. The humans like him a lot too.
Aug 15, 2024 · Sara McCabeThe staff and Dr here are great. It is so hard to find a vet with so many clinics in our area closing. My furbaby broke 2 toes and needed to be re seen, and they took us in. Very caring, kind, and helpful. I would recommend this Dr and his crew to anyone looking for pet healthcare.
