Could never give Oak Heart anything but 5 stars. Both of my boys, Eli & Pete, had been going there for annuals but the real review comes from having to say goodbye to my boy Eli. Everyone was so compassionate, kind, the ladies that helped me say goodbye were so amazing. 13 years could never have been enough time, but he was sent off with the love and all the treats he deserved. The process was explained, they monitored but didn’t rush me at all. It was as good of an experience as you CAN have in a moment like that. Thank you.

The staff at Oak Heart Veterinary Hospital at Longview have always been outstanding, but my opinion went up from there with the recent experience of a surgery needed for my aging cat. Dr. Ekblad is an Incredible veterinary doctor who explained my cat’s situation with professionalism, knowledge and compassion. She stayed in touch during the days following the surgery and helped reduce my anxiety to practically nothing. All of the veterinary assistants and reception employees were, and are, fabulous. I have finally found my veterinary home and highly recommend this group for any of your fur kids’ needs!

Inattentive and unthorough. While the techs were very kind and always excited to see my pet, there's not much else to praise this practice for. My dog was a patient here for roughly 2 years but no longer will be. My dog was repeatedly misdiagnosed and my concerns dismissed and minimized, exams were cursory at best. From my overall experiences, I draw the conclusion that this practice lacks compassion, patience, and thoroughness. After a year+ (and hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars) of being told that a skin condition was the result of an environmental allergy, I learned that it instead was a staph infection, a very common and obvious diagnosis for an attentive vet to make. This practice, instead of correctly diagnosing and treating a staph infection, repeatedly peddled expensive drug therapies that simply treated symptoms, not the root cause of the issue. Ultimately, I don't recommend that a pet owner rely solely on this practice for anything diagnostic. If you suspect that they're wrong about something, trust your gut and get a second opinion. I wish I had sooner.

I've taken several cats there. The vets have been great. You can tell they truly love animals. My only problem has been with the diagnosis of one of my cats. The eye drops haven't worked. I've taken her twice and used the drops till they were gone both times, yet her eyes are still getting crusty and goopy. I can't keep giving them money without results

So grateful for this vet! I ended up having a semi-emergency with my cat, Leroy, and the staff here fit me in same day. I was totally panicked the entire time and they were nothing but kind, patient, compassionate, and comforting. I also bring my small dog here and they’ve been amazing with him! Facilities are always clean. Staff is kind and very knowledgeable!
