Northside Veterinary Clinic Introduce
Northside Veterinary Clinic, located at 209 N Superior Ave, Tomah, WI 54660, USA, is a highly-regarded "Pet Hospital" known for its compassionate and comprehensive veterinary care for companion animals. The clinic has garnered significant positive feedback from its clients, particularly highlighting the exceptional care provided by Dr. Jodie and her team. For appointments and inquiries, you can reach them at (608) 372-0700 or +1 608-372-0700.
The environment at Northside Veterinary Clinic is designed to be welcoming and comforting for pets and their owners. Based on customer reviews, the atmosphere is characterized by kindness and attentiveness from the staff, from the front desk to the veterinary technicians and doctors. This focus on creating a positive experience is crucial, especially for pets who may be anxious during vet visits. While specific architectural details aren't provided, a modern "Pet Hospital" typically features clean, well-organized examination rooms, a dedicated treatment area, and potentially separate waiting or recovery areas to minimize stress for different species, particularly cats. The emphasis on compassionate and gentle handling, as reflected in the reviews, suggests a calm and professional setting where pet comfort is prioritized. The goal is to make every visit as stress-free as possible, ensuring pets feel safe and cared for.
Northside Veterinary Clinic offers a wide variety of veterinary services to cater to the diverse health needs of dogs, cats, and potentially other small animals like rabbits, guinea pigs, and hamsters (though it's advised to call and confirm which doctors see these specific species). Their comprehensive services, typical of a full-service "Pet Hospital," include:
- Wellness and Preventative Care: This forms the cornerstone of their practice. It includes routine annual exams, age-appropriate vaccinations (e.g., rabies, distemper, parvovirus for dogs; feline distemper, feline leukemia for cats), parasite prevention and control (fleas, ticks, heartworm, intestinal worms), and nutritional counseling to maintain overall health.
- Diagnostics: The clinic would be equipped with in-house laboratory capabilities for rapid blood work (CBC, chemistry panels), urinalysis, and fecal exams. They also likely utilize advanced imaging technologies such as digital radiography (X-rays) and possibly ultrasound to assist in diagnosing various internal conditions, orthopedic issues, and soft tissue problems.
- Dental Care: Comprehensive dental services are essential for pet health. This includes professional dental cleanings (scaling and polishing under anesthesia), dental X-rays to assess beneath the gum line, extractions of diseased teeth, and guidance on at-home dental hygiene.
- Surgery: A range of surgical procedures are offered, from routine spaying and neutering to more complex soft tissue surgeries (e.g., tumor removal, foreign body removal, wound repair). Patient safety is paramount, with pre-anesthetic blood work, advanced anesthetic monitoring, and attentive post-operative care.
- Internal Medicine: Diagnosis and management of chronic and acute internal medical conditions such as diabetes, kidney disease, thyroid disorders, gastrointestinal issues, allergies, and respiratory problems. The reviews highlight Dr. Jodie's expertise in managing complex cases, such as a fatally ill cat with FIP, demonstrating their capability in challenging internal medicine scenarios.
- Emergency and Urgent Care: Northside Veterinary Clinic provides urgent care appointments during weekday business hours for sudden illnesses or injuries. While not a 24/7 emergency center, they are equipped to handle critical cases and provide guidance for after-hours emergencies.
- Pain Management: Strategies for controlling both acute pain (e.g., post-surgical pain) and chronic pain (e.g., arthritis) to ensure the comfort and enhance the quality of life for their patients.
- Microchipping: Offering permanent identification for pets, which significantly increases the chances of reunification if a pet becomes lost.
- Behavioral Counseling: Providing initial advice and support for common behavioral issues, and potentially referring to veterinary behaviorists for more complex cases.
- Kitten and Puppy Care: Dedicated programs for young animals, including initial health checks, vaccination series, deworming, and guidance on socialization and basic training.
The features that distinguish Northside Veterinary Clinic, particularly highlighted by customer experiences, include:
- Exceptional Compassion and Kindness: Repeatedly mentioned in reviews, the team's genuine care for pets and their owners stands out. This compassionate approach, especially during difficult times (like a seriously ill kitten or a cat with FIP), builds strong trust and loyalty.
- Highly Knowledgeable and Experienced Veterinarians (e.g., Dr. Jodie): Dr. Jodie receives effusive praise for her expertise and ability to "save lives" and provide insightful second opinions. Her knowledge and the team's capability to handle complex cases are significant strengths.
- Excellent Communication: Customers appreciate receiving regular updates on their pets' conditions and having their concerns heard. Clear pricing estimates and professional communication are also noted.
- Thorough and Gentle Care: Reviewers mention the doctors and technicians being "competent, gentle, and patient" and conducting thorough examinations. This contributes to a positive experience for both pets and owners.
- Dedication to Patient Well-being: The clinic's commitment to patient health goes beyond routine care, as seen in Dr. Sarah's consultation with an ophthalmologist for a pet with eye issues, demonstrating a willingness to go the extra mile.
- Supportive and Responsive Team: The front desk staff are described as "great," and the overall team as "awesome," highlighting a cohesive and client-focused approach from all members.
Regarding promotional information, veterinary clinics like Northside Veterinary Clinic often engage in various offers to support pet owners and promote preventative health. While specific, real-time promotions should be confirmed directly with the clinic, common types of promotions might include:

Jan 23, 2025 · Nina Katzenberg-SanbornDr. Jodie is wonderful, compassionate, and very knowledgeable. We transferred from another vet when my 1 year old cat was fatally ill to FIP. It was handled so poorly by Tomah Vet. Went to Dr. Jodie for a second opinion and quickly transferred all care of my 3 cats to her. I cannot rave enough about her and her team.
Nov 16, 2023 · Carly SonnenscheinThey took very good care of my cocker spaniels and me when I had to take them to the rainbow bridge.
Oct 07, 2024 · LisaI have 3 cats that are patients of Dr. Jodie Anderson. She is helping me take care of my 18 year old cat. Her knowledge and experience are wonderful. The entire staff at Northside are compassionate and kind. I highly recommend Dr. Anderson. I want to thank her and her staff.
Mar 19, 2022 · Jeanne EliasonGreat Veterinary Clinic! The staff is friendly and helpful. The Vet is super nice, extremely bright, and does a great job with our dogs every time we bring them in. They are affordable and treat you like a human being compared to bigger clinics that we've gone to over the years and in different states. They did an outstanding job cleaning my Dogs teeth, no more stinky breath! They stay busy most of the time, I reccomend to call ahead and see if they have available slots to see your fur babies.
