North Dekalb Veterinary Clinic

I have been taking my dog here since I got her at 5 weeks old and she is now almost 3 years old. I have never had a problem with the staff nor the doctors. Both Dr Katz and Dr Bell have been wonderful. Today I called hoping to speak with someone about a concern I was having with my dog. I have never been more disgusted at the level of unprofessionalism and rudeness by the person who answered the phone. The front staff who answered the phone was more concerned with interrupting me while I was talking rather than listening to the very clear statements I was making in regards to the name my dog may be under to pull up her file. (FYI: I have called the vet before with a similar issue and Dr Katz and his team was extremely helpful and checked in with me multiple times on my dog’s behalf. Including to recommend an emergency vet I could use if needed). Given that I was concerned of a potential vet emergency with my dog and the pleasant history I have had with the clinic, I am extremely disappointed with the way I was treated and spoken to by this person. So much so that I am happy to take my business and dog’s wellbeing elsewhere. I am not a person to take the time to use Google reviews; however, this person’s distasteful nature should be noted.

I’m very disappointed , my fur baby would never attend this location again last week I brought her to get her nails clipped which one of her toenails were ingrown however, they charge me $195 for the visit which he did not clip all of the nails because he said that he did not want to stress her out and to bring her back in two weeks, we go to visit week 2 and the price is higher than it was before 285. I couldn’t believe it I explained there’s no way a five minute visit is $285. The print out was absolutely ridiculous I mean, all types of unnecessary charges. 40 for wound care with no wound like how you charging for services you didn’t serve . Never again . Dr.Matthew has the nerve to get over on a day before thanksgiving. Right plan wrong man . They lost a valueable customer with their greed

Dr. Bell is a dream with my chronically ill pigbull Boris (pictured here, he’s a big fan!), Dr. Lloyd is a magical cat whisperer, Dr. Max is a big dog whisperer and will do anything to help our family out when we’ve had emergencies. Malik and his special cookie sandwiches #IYKYK and all the back of house staff as well as Tamara and Katie at the front are all WONDERFUL! We’ve been going to see these great folks for all our pet care for 10ish years now and I wish I’d found out about their practice sooner because I CAN’T RECOMMEND THEM HIGHLY ENOUGH!

The vets are nice and the location was close to my house which made it convenient having multiple animals and fostering at the same time, I had a couple appointments here and everything went great but I will no longer be coming back here due to the rude receptionist. I missed one appointment and she’s been rude to me since, I showed up today and got the times wrong (an hour early) and told her I would have to reschedule because I was not going to have my cats stress out in a small carrier for an hour and she told me that I would have to pay a deposit for canceling the day-of and waisting everybody’s time, I understand how I could of done better on my end but there is absolutely no reason to be rude to me or try to make me feel bad. It’s free to be nice and understanding.

Dr. Lloyd is a fantastic vet, but the secretary’s rudeness eventually pushed me to find another practice. I choose to believe that it wasn’t due to racial prejudice, but I’m not sure. She was shockingly rude to me over the phone three separate times… you would’ve thought she was battling a truly slow and hateful person (I hold an MDiv and have been nothing but kind to her). I can imagine that her job is stressful, but the nasty attitude is unacceptable.
