My Best Friend Veterinary Center

My Best Friend vet is a special place where the entire staff truly care about your furry babies. We initially lived 2 minutes from this vet and later moved 2 hours away to Columbia, MO yet kept traveling back. We had the best cocker spaniel, Daisy, and My Best Friend took such good care of her. After we moved, we tried grooming at the local PetSmart and Daisy was not pleased. They did ok but Daisy gave me that look of displeasure and let me know she wanted Denise at My Best Friend because Denise was the best groomer. Dr. Tim and Dr. Chelsie were Daisy’s favorite vets. Through the years Daisy had the normal run of your mill issues, from eating things she should not have, to skin issues, and back pain. They loved on Daisy and took the time to answer any questions to help Daisy recover. Dr. Chelsie found cancer early enough when it was small and successfully removed it with no recurrence. Dr. Tim later diagnosed kidney disease and helped us through her final months. To arrive at the diagnosis of kidney disease, we had extensive tests done at the University of Missouri vet and Dr. Tim spent an hour on the phone with me talking about what this meant for Daisy. We continued to make the trip to St. Louis to MyBest Friend as needed because we knew she had the best care. Daisy did not like going to the University vet but never had an issue going to My Best Friend. Ultimately, when the time came, we chose at home euthanasia with a local vet. However, My Best Friend was so caring they sent a card with a thoughtful note from Dr. Tim and signed by the staff. I later learned they donated money to the University of Missouri Vet School in memory of Daisy. Thank you, My Best Friend for the best care and helping us have so many good years with Daisy.

Dr. Tim and staff are the best that we have ever been to. The care that your furry friend will receive is above and beyond. They really care about there patients and their families. I would recommend them to anyone. We appreciate you guys so much. Thank you Robert Kitchens Taz, Luna, and Kallan

TLDR - by far the best vet office I’ve ever been to. Very caring, thorough, and HONEST. A million stars. My cat and I have a long and storied history with other veterinarian offices; a major digestive issue lasting several years and costing thousands of dollars, which I found out later could have been solved by simply switching her food. Needless to say, I became very skeptical of vets, as the ones I saw over the years failed to suggest a food switch in favor of years of costly IV fluids, enemas, and trauma to my poor baby girl. Fast forward to 2022. My cat and I moved to the stl area and were recommended to MBF. I have had nothing but exceptional experiences. They are so thorough, kind, accommodating, and upfront. They give you all your options and don’t try to upsell or hide anything regarding cost. Most recently my girl got a UTI / kidney infection. They showed me how to give subcutaneous fluids at home to give her the eye possible care without a massive hospital bill. They even have super thorough tutorials on their site for how to do it. In my experience, not every vet puts the animals first; maybe I’ve encountered have prioritized $. My Best Friend has been a huge breath of fresh air and I’m so grateful for them!

Today, as I was driving down Olive Boulevard I saw a kitten in the road. My car went on top of it, but I didn’t hit it. I turned around and ran back and scoop the kitten up off the road. His body was limp and he was skin and bones. I honestly thought he might be dead, but then he blinked his eyes and I realized he was alive. I typed in “veterinarian” into Google and realized I was 650 feet away from this vets office. Distraught and panicked, I tried to find their office but couldn’t so I called. I was put on hold after explaining what had happened and that I needed to get the cat to them immediately. She came back on the line and told me that all they could do is scan for a chip. Excuse me what?!?! This 6 week old kitten was in dire straits. These aren’t people who are in the veterinary business for the right reasons. My guess is they assumed I wouldn’t pay, but I was willing to. I ended up hanging up the phone and calling my veterinarian city Cat Clinic, and they said bring the kitten in immediately. They quickly examined him and realized that he was extremely malnourished, and dehydrated, and had a bit of road rash, but it didn’t appear to have any broken bones. They treated him with a steroid for his shock, fixed up his wounds, gave him some liquids and will keep him for the next two days to monitor him. He’s already eating and looks like he’s gonna make it. I am absolutely disgusted that this animal clinic would not see this kitten in need. Shame on you! Do better!

I just love this place. I moved from south city to county and decided to look for a new vet so I wouldn't have to travel a long distance should my fur baby need immediate care; especially if the weather was bad. I searched the web for vets in my area and selected this one because the reviews were very good. I must say that they did not disappoint. The facility is very nice and the staff are very professional and super nice. Dr. Heather and Dr. Erin have taken great care of my senior pom and are very knowledgeable. Whenever I contact them with an issue, they always respond quickly and address any concerns I have. I highly recommend My Best Friend Veterinarian Services for anyone seeking quality care for their pet and a friendly, attentive staff.
