Did not visit with a pet that needed care but rather a rescue mission. A baby kitten had crawled into a truck engine and took about a 15 mile road trip before being discovered when the truck parked. After catching the scared baby I offered to take her to a local vet in hopes of finding her a home. Wondered in this vet school and instantly had 5, 6 or 7 or so who instantly became so helpful with mommy instincts kicking in. They gave her some food that she scarfed down (she was so skinny). One of the students offered to take her to a shelter. Good luck little kitty and hats off to the kind and helpful staff and students at the Vet School

Additionally, two heartwarming customer reviews offer insights into the environment and the ethos of this veterinary institution. One review recounts a remarkable experience involving a rescued baby kitten that had endured a perilous 15-mile journey within a truck engine. The reviewer, intending to find the kitten a home, stopped at this "vet school." The immediate response was overwhelmingly positive and compassionate, with "5, 6 or 7 or so" individuals, likely faculty and students, readily offering assistance with evident "mommy instincts kicking in." They provided nourishment for the skinny kitten, and a student even volunteered to take her to a shelter, showcasing a strong commitment to animal welfare beyond routine clinical care. As a teaching hospital associated with a College of Veterinary Medicine, the environment at this location is likely to be multifaceted. It would include standard examination rooms and treatment areas expected in any pet hospital, but it would also likely feature facilities for teaching and learning, such as lecture halls, laboratories, and potentially observation areas. The presence of students under the guidance of experienced veterinarians suggests a collaborative environment where the latest veterinary knowledge is applied to patient care. The atmosphere might be dynamic and educational, with a strong emphasis on thoroughness and learning.

The services offered at the MU College Of Veterinary Medicine would likely encompass a broad spectrum of veterinary care, similar to a comprehensive pet hospital. This could include routine wellness examinations, vaccinations, parasite prevention, diagnostic services (such as laboratory testing and imaging), medical treatments for various illnesses, and surgical procedures. Given its affiliation with a university, the hospital might also offer specialized services or access to advanced diagnostic tools and treatments that might not be readily available at all private practices. The involvement of students could mean a more detailed and collaborative approach to patient care, with multiple individuals contributing to the diagnosis and treatment plan under faculty supervision.

Choosing a teaching hospital might also provide access to cutting-edge veterinary knowledge and a team-based approach to care.

It is important to note the shared address with the Missouri Veterinary Dermatology Center. This could imply a close working relationship, shared facilities, or even an integrated approach to animal care, where dermatology specialists may collaborate with the general veterinary services offered by the College. Local users seeking specialized dermatological care might find this co-location beneficial. However, it is essential to understand the distinct services offered by each entity at this address.

Great help for those of us who love our fur babies and are at wits end getting them help. Lambeau was pulling his fur out so we had an allergy test.

We take our almost 2 y/o GSD to the dermatologist. The employees are always so kind and never make me feel like they don't have time for my questions or concerns. Stanley's quality of life has improved greatly thanks to them.
