Mt. Airy Veterinary Hospital offers a comprehensive suite of veterinary services, addressing a wide spectrum of pet health needs from routine preventative care to complex medical interventions. Their core services include robust preventative medicine programs, which are fundamental to maintaining long-term health and well-being. This involves thorough annual wellness examinations, crucial for early detection of any health issues and for establishing a baseline for each pet's unique physiology. They provide essential vaccination protocols tailored to individual pet needs and lifestyles, protecting against common and serious infectious diseases. Parasite prevention is also a key focus, with solutions for controlling fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal parasites, which are prevalent concerns in the region.
The hospital is well-equipped with advanced diagnostic capabilities. This typically includes in-house laboratory services for blood work (such as complete blood counts, chemistry panels, and thyroid testing), urinalysis, and fecal examinations, allowing for rapid and accurate assessment of internal organ function and detection of various infections or conditions. Diagnostic imaging, including radiography (X-rays), is available to evaluate skeletal structures, internal organs, and identify foreign objects, providing critical information for accurate diagnoses.
Surgical services are also a significant component of their offerings. This includes routine soft-tissue surgeries such as spaying and neutering, which are vital for pet population control and preventing specific health problems. While not explicitly detailed, a full-service hospital typically handles a range of other common surgical procedures. Dental care is a crucial aspect of their services, recognizing the profound impact of oral health on overall pet well-being. This would include professional dental cleanings, extractions, and management of periodontal disease. Additionally, they likely offer general medical care for sick and injured pets, including management of chronic conditions, wound care, and pain management.

This level of commitment illustrates a deep personal investment in the welfare of their patients and their families. The ability to accommodate same-day appointments for sick pets is another outstanding feature, providing immense relief and timely care during urgent situations, preventing unnecessary delays and anxiety for pet owners.
The long-standing relationships with clients, some spanning "over 20 years," further underscore the clinic's reliability and the consistent quality of care provided. Feb 21, 2025 · Denise CainI have been going to Dr Truban for about 8 years now. I honestly don't know what I would do without him, Dr Maravich and the wonderful vet techs and office staff. My 14 year old hound mix got really sick in Feb. and Dr Truban was out of the office. Dr Maravich looked her over and she was in critical condition. Dr Truban dropped what he was doing and came in to look at Sheba. Unfortunately there wasn't anything they could do for her so he stayed at the office and put her to sleep for me. This past weekend my little special needs dog was very sick. Dr Truban wasn't on call but he called me on Sunday morning to give me advice on how to treat her condition. I have never been turned away for an appointment either. If I have a sick dog they make room that day for my baby to be seen. My dogs love everyone there and I would recommend them to anyone!!!!
Jun 16, 2017 · Jennifer DouglasI have been taking my dog, Daisy Mae to this vet since she was about four weeks old. I have always enjoyed taking my baby to this vet office specifically. On Tuesday we took her in for her spaying and the doctor who walked us through the procedure (I believe his name was Dr Logan) was very kind and was ready to answer any questions I had. I definently recommend this place.
Mar 26, 2022 · Aryanna RobertsDr. Truban is the only vet I’ve ever taken any on my pets to see. From puppies vaccinations to dog vs. car, or cat vs. dog, they will do all that can be done to get them patched up. It’s great that they are very helpful with price and payments when emergencies come up and money is tight. I would recommend Mt. Airy Veterinary Hospital for whatever your pets need!
Sep 19, 2023 · Joey D.I don't really leave reviews but in this case I have too. I took my baby in to see the vet she was extremely sick on deaths door and they rushed out and took care of her I had never been there before they didn't know me at all or her but they jumped right in and saved her. It's so so obvious that they truly care about the pets . I am totally grateful I can never ever say enough or show enough appreciation for them . Most caring vet and vet techs ever thank you so much Logan and Dr Truman you are heaven sent
