I brought my cat in for vaccines, but told them that I was concerned that she was pregnant after getting out during a move. I told them that I would be happy to pay for an xray. Vet let me know that he didn't think an xray was necessary. Then took her to the back & vaccinated her. Two weeks later & she gave birth to 3 kittens, 2 were deceased. I now know that vaccines can cause all sorts of health problems for fetuses; such as death. I called the vet's office to cancel my cat's spay & told them our situation. I was told that the vet had put in his notes that HE WAS THE ONE SUGGESTING AN XRAY. Lies. An extra sting to the grief I'm dealing with. I should have advocated more for an xray & put my foot down. I should have demanded not suggested. I shouldn't of just listened to & trusted the "professional". They should have cared more for their patient & the concerns I brought to them. They should have known about effects of vaccines during pregnancy. They just didn't care. I was willing; letting them know I could & would pay for an xray. This kitten may not survive & if it does, then I'm concerned for the long tem health effects that this kitten may have from the vaccines! It could have been avoided. I was trying to do the best for my cat by getting her vaccinated & spayed. But my failures & naivety have now resulted in the death of 2 beautiful kittens, who could have lived good lives. The vet and tech failed us. There is no fixing this. I'm only left with grief & a complete distrust of "professionals" now.

Mountain Shadows Pet Hospital Introduce
Welcome to the introduction of Mountain Shadows Pet Hospital, a local veterinary care provider situated at 5010 Boardwalk Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80919, USA. As a dedicated pet hospital within your community, Mountain Shadows Pet Hospital aims to offer a range of services and potentially goods to cater to the health and well-being of your beloved animal companions. This introduction is based on publicly available information and aims to provide an objective overview for local users seeking veterinary care.
Mountain Shadows Pet Hospital can be contacted via phone at (719) 533-0910 or their mobile number +1 719-533-0910. For pet owners in the Colorado Springs area, accessibility and convenient communication are often key factors when choosing a veterinary provider. Having both a landline and a mobile contact number suggests a commitment to being reachable for appointments and inquiries.
While specific details about the hospital's environment, such as the size of the facility, the number of examination rooms, or the presence of specialized equipment, are not explicitly available in the provided information, it is reasonable to expect a standard pet hospital setting. This typically includes waiting areas for pet owners, examination rooms where veterinarians can assess and treat animals, and potentially surgical suites for more complex procedures. Cleanliness, comfort for pets, and a professional atmosphere are generally considered important aspects of a positive veterinary hospital environment.
Based on the limited information, the services offered by Mountain Shadows Pet Hospital appear to include routine veterinary care such as vaccinations and spay/neuter procedures. One customer review mentions bringing their cat in for vaccines and discussing a potential pregnancy, indicating that these services are part of their offerings. It is common for pet hospitals to also provide a broader range of services, which may include:
- General wellness exams and health check-ups
- Preventative care, including vaccinations and parasite control (flea, tick, and heartworm prevention)
- Dental care, including teeth cleaning and extractions
- Diagnostic services, such as blood work, urinalysis, and potentially imaging (though the availability of on-site X-ray is uncertain based on the reviews)
- Surgical procedures, including spaying and neutering, as well as other soft tissue surgeries
- Management of acute illnesses and injuries
- Chronic disease management
- Nutritional counseling
- Microchipping
- Euthanasia and palliative care
Without further information, it is difficult to definitively state the full spectrum of services available at Mountain Shadows Pet Hospital. Local users are encouraged to contact the hospital directly to inquire about specific services their pets may require.
In terms of features, it's important to consider what sets a veterinary hospital apart. Compassionate and knowledgeable staff, clear communication, and a commitment to animal welfare are often highly valued by pet owners. The mention of a "compassionate" interaction with staff member Lauren in one of the reviews suggests a positive aspect of their client communication. However, another review raises serious concerns about the communication and care provided in a specific situation involving a potentially pregnant cat. This review alleges a misrepresentation of a suggested diagnostic procedure and expresses disappointment in the perceived lack of care and knowledge regarding the effects of vaccines during pregnancy.
This negative review highlights the importance for pet owners to actively engage in their pet's care, ask questions, and advocate for their animal's needs. It also underscores the potential impact of communication and trust between pet owners and veterinary professionals. While this review presents a critical perspective, it is essential to consider that it represents a single customer experience and may not be representative of the overall quality of care provided by Mountain Shadows Pet Hospital.
Another piece of information gleaned from the reviews is that Mountain Shadows Pet Hospital may have limitations on accepting new clients. One review mentions that they see "1 new client a week" and that the next available appointment was in April. This suggests that the hospital may have high demand or a specific scheduling protocol for new patients. Local users seeking to establish care at Mountain Shadows Pet Hospital should be aware of potential waiting times and are advised to inquire about their new client policy when contacting the hospital.
Regarding promotional information, there is no specific promotional content available in the provided text. Typically, pet hospitals might offer introductory discounts for new clients, seasonal specials on certain services (like dental cleaning month), or wellness packages that bundle essential preventative care services at a reduced price. To learn about any current promotions or special offers, local users should directly contact Mountain Shadows Pet Hospital or visit their website if they have one.
In summary, Mountain Shadows Pet Hospital in Colorado Springs is a local veterinary care provider offering services such as vaccinations and spay/neuter procedures. While one customer review expresses significant concerns regarding communication and the standard of care in a specific instance, another review highlights compassionate staff interaction. Potential new clients should be aware of possible limitations on new patient appointments and are encouraged to contact the hospital directly to inquire about their specific needs, the full range of services offered, and any current promotions. It is always recommended for pet owners to research and communicate openly with their chosen veterinary care provider to ensure the best possible health outcomes for their animal companions.

Jul 13, 2024 · Angie HMy cat Vinnie is 20 years old and has been going to a wonderful veterinary. Unfortunately I have become disabled . The veterinary is a long drive from me house. I emailed MSPH to make an appt since they are very close to my home. Spoke with Lauren who was very compassionate. She informed me they see 1 new client a week, next available in April. The web site should state this information and update all
Mar 06, 2024 · Layonise AustinWe had an appointment today to put our old cat down. I received a call about two hours before we were to take our pet in saying the doctor would be tied up in surgery all day and couldn't see us. Once you decide it's the day to put your beloved pet down, you have mentally prepared and you don't want your pet to suffer. To be called and told "sorry, things happen" and "we can't see your pet today" is a punch in the gut! I understand things come up but this was just cruel to both our cat and ourselves. This is the second time this vet hospital has let us down when we needed to euthanize a pet. They did it back in August of 2017 when our dog became critically ill. They couldn't see her for a week so we had to take her to another vet to be put down. The vet we saw today stated they always leave openings for things just as this. Apparently, Mountain Shadows Vet Hospital doesn't and really doesn't care. I'm so disappointed in them and will not be using them again.
Nov 17, 2023 · Linda GearhartThe Vet at this clinic doesn't do exams with the owner in the room, and barely interacts with you after. If you have a question, his default answer is to order an expensive test, and up-charge the hell out of you in place of talking about the issue, like a human. I'm not sensitive, but it feels disrespectful. Maybe the Dr. just enjoys playing with dog poo at the owner's expense.. First went there in 2017, and have been to Vets all over the state (I travel a lot) By far this was the most expensive vet I've seen in Co, and the least personable. Next time my dog is sick, I'll drive all the way to Buena Vista to be seen. I found a great clinic out there with a personable Dr who doesn't use upcharges as a business model.
Feb 09, 2024 · S. GrayMountain Shadows is one of the best primary vets we have ever had. THEY LOVE THE PITTIES!!! We have hit multiple problems having a pit mix at many other vets over the years, but once we found MSPH, we knew we had finally found a home for our kiddo. This was the first office he didn't want to leave. They always care for him extra well. Thank you MSPH!
