I recently transferred my dogs to Mountain Lake Vet from Palmer Lake Vet, and I couldn't be more impressed! The clinic has a wonderful family vibe to it.. It's also refreshing to know that the clinic isn’t owned by a corporation, which is a huge plus! The prices are incredibly reasonable as well. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Quinn, who took excellent care of my dogs, Blink and Faye. They absolutely loved her! Angie at the front desk was so welcoming and helpful, and the vet techs we interacted with were just as amazing. Overall, I’m extremely grateful for the wonderful experience and the exceptional care my pets received. Highly recommend Mountain Lake Vet for anyone looking for a compassionate and professional veterinary clinic!

The fact that the clinic is not owned by a corporation is seen as a significant plus by at least one reviewer, implying a more personalized and potentially less profit-driven approach to care. The emphasis on creating a low-stress environment is further supported by the mention of Kayla's calm demeanor during intake, which helped a nervous cat, Piper, feel more at ease. What a peaceful, inviting and extremely clean office. We had a Sunday appointment which is amazing since we work during the week. Kayla was very calm and the intake was not stressful for my cat Piper. We followed Dr Krantz to this office after she cared for our two dogs. They loved her and didn’t realize they were at the vet! My cat is a rescue, so is very stressed in any new experiences. I gave her gabapentin 3.5 hours before and she is less stressed but the office is quiet and like I said peaceful. We also brought my son’s cat. A rescue. Dr Kranz immediately saw a broken tooth in the back of his mouth that is dangling. We had nails clipped and shots updated to prepare for grooming. She is very chill with my pets which I appreciate.

At first I was thrilled with both vets but then things changed. Perhaps they're just too busy and have growing pains but I had 3 separate occasions where I needed information and help, making my own excuses for their lack of communication but once I had issues and they failed to communicate with me, then I consider this very poor care. 1-My cat was undergoing eye treatment and I needed to discuss whether we should continue the treatment or not as I was running out of the serum. 2-The medication my other cat was on was not working so I needed to know what other alternatives there might be. The front desk told me that I could relinquish my cat to them (not an option in my book!). 3- My kitten's paw was swollen 3 times it's size and I needed to know when to bring him in as I was concerned it was broken - no call back and it was during business hours. All 3 times - no calls back! Not satisfactory at all! When my two cats had to go in for a 'dentistry' with multiple extractions, they told me not to call them to check up on my kitties as 'no news is good news'. I discovered that although I had taken them in early in the morning (2 separate appointments), they didn't do their procedure until later those afternoons which means my kitties were left terrified for hours in a cage, being in a strange place and hearing other cats/dogs and when I picked them up, they were extremely groggy and not fully cleared from the anesthesia. I was given an excuse why their procedures were done late. One was due to them having trouble with one of their machines that needed fixing and the 2nd time, they were just very busy. I tried to be understanding so I decided to email them with my past issues/experiences as I wanted to discuss them these issues and hopefully get things cleared up. I was assured I'd get a phone call back from one of the doctors that next day to discuss my concerns - but it never happened. I asked the front desk for a full accounting of my bill as they said I owed some money despite being told previously that I had a credit. Again, no response - no accounting. I'm a patient person but once someone fails me and my pets, I will no longer do business with them.

I moved to Monument about about a year ago, and part of the fun of any new relocation is establishing all you new local health care for you and your favorite four legged friends I was lucky to have found Dr. Kranz and Mountain Lake Family Vet for the care of my 12 year old pup. I’ve had a few appointment since moving here, and can sincerely appreciate the small office personalize care, and time spent during evaluation that makes me feel like I am getting the best care I can get for my pup who is slowly getting up there in age. I can always appreciate it when you can feel the level of care from a clinic. Many of the larger clinics out there make you feel like just another number, but at Mountain Lake it feels like Dr. Kranz cares about your pet as much as I do. If you’re looking for a vet in the Monument area, I can’t recommend them enough. Keep doing what you’re doing Mountain Lake, it’s a great service you’re offering for the pets (and families) in Monument!

My dogs have seen Dr. Kranz for 11 years now and I cannot recommend her enough. I was so happy to see that she opened her own office as I prefer doing business with a non-corporate owned practice. Dr. Kranz has seen my dogs for everything from puppy vaccines to euthanasia. She is meticulous, professional, hardworking, knows when to be firm and when to be lenient. I feel that my dogs are well-cared for and that Dr. Kranz listens to me and pays attention to my needs as well. She does a great job at balancing care for the pet and the owner, which is something relatively difficult to do. Thanks Mountain Lake and Dr. Kranz, from the whole darn crew!
