Sorry I can't give a good review either. She gave me a prescription for heartworm meds, I sent it to Chewy, they need the quantity. She has not responded to Chewy or me and now I have to get my dog another heartworm test just to get a prescription. I'm very disappointed in her service. Also, when she gave the heartworm test she poked my dog excessively and added more trauma to a dog who already dislikes the vet.

Welcome to Motor City Vet Care
For pet owners in Detroit, Michigan, and the surrounding areas, Motor City Vet Care, located at 18701 Grand River Ave, presents itself as a local "Pet Hospital" offering veterinary services. However, based on recent customer reviews available online, it is important for potential users to approach this veterinary care provider with caution and consider the experiences shared by others. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of Motor City Vet Care based solely on the publicly available feedback, highlighting aspects related to service, professionalism, and communication.
The limited information available from customer reviews paints a concerning picture regarding the operational practices and customer service at Motor City Vet Care. One recurring theme in the negative feedback is a significant lack of responsiveness and follow-through on essential administrative tasks. One customer reported receiving a prescription for heartworm medication but encountering difficulties in getting the necessary quantity information provided to the online pharmacy, Chewy. Despite attempts to contact Motor City Vet Care by both the customer and the pharmacy, there was no response. This lack of communication resulted in the customer needing to subject their dog to another heartworm test to obtain a valid prescription, highlighting a significant inconvenience and potential added stress for the pet.
Another critical issue raised by a customer concerns incomplete record-keeping and a failure to provide essential documentation. This review mentions a house call service, which could be considered a feature of Motor City Vet Care. However, despite the convenience of a home visit, the veterinarian reportedly did not sign off on the dog's shot records, preventing the owner from registering their pet. Furthermore, the customer states that they did not receive a receipt for the services rendered, only a charge on their credit card. Attempts to rectify these issues through calls and emails to Motor City Vet Care allegedly went unanswered, leading the customer to label the business as "BAD BUSINESS" and caution others to be careful due to perceived issues with financial transactions and a lack of accountability.
In addition to concerns about administrative processes and communication, one customer also raised concerns about the handling of their pet during a procedure. The review mentions that during a heartworm test, the veterinarian "poked my dog excessively," causing undue trauma to an animal already anxious about vet visits. This feedback points to potential issues with the comfort and care provided to the animal during routine procedures, which is a critical aspect of veterinary service.
Based solely on the available reviews, there is no positive feedback regarding the environment of the clinic itself, any specific services beyond a heartworm test and house calls, or any features that might be considered beneficial. The absence of positive comments and the specific negative experiences shared raise significant questions about the overall quality of care and the professionalism of Motor City Vet Care.
Furthermore, there is no information whatsoever regarding any promotional offers or special programs that Motor City Vet Care might provide. Given the nature of the recent feedback, it is unlikely that customers would be aware of or inclined to comment on any such promotions. Potential users would need to independently verify if any such offers exist and carefully weigh them against the reported negative experiences.
In conclusion, based on the limited but critical customer reviews available online, Motor City Vet Care in Detroit, MI, appears to have significant shortcomings in areas such as communication, administrative processes (including prescription handling and record-keeping), and potentially the handling of animals during procedures. The lack of response to customer inquiries and the failure to provide necessary documentation are particularly concerning. While the house call service might be seen as a potential convenience, the associated issues reported by a customer detract significantly from this potential benefit. For local pet owners seeking a reliable "Pet Hospital," it would be prudent to thoroughly investigate these concerns and perhaps seek alternative veterinary care providers with more consistently positive feedback regarding their service and professionalism. Due to the serious nature of the issues raised in the reviews, potential users should exercise extreme caution and consider these experiences carefully before entrusting the health and well-being of their pets to Motor City Vet Care. Further investigation and potentially seeking testimonials from other sources would be advisable to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the services and overall quality of care provided.

Aug 18, 2022 · Tracy WilliamsI requested an online appointment and had to cancel less than an hour after request to schedule but they still charged me. I have tried contacting via form, email and phone and no one will return my phone call. I'm sad to say I can't recommend them at all. I went through BetterVet and have found several local vets that I can trust.
