My dog has been to Moreau Animal Clinic three times: once for her yearly, once to schedule her spay, and most recently for her spay procedure. While the staff have always been friendly, and the facility is clean and well-maintained, I was somewhat concerned about her condition at pickup after surgery. She was returned to me with a strong, overwhelming odor of old urine. She was completely dry upon discharge and didn't smell like this before the appointment. The odor was so intense it filled my car, and my hands became sticky after petting her briefly. This did not seem like a recent accident but rather something that had been on her for hours. It’s hard to understand how this could have been missed by staff. While I’ve appreciated the clinic’s professionalism and great staff in the past, this recent experience was disappointing. I’m still open to returning for non-surgical visits, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable recommending Moreau for surgical procedures unless this issue is addressed.

Moreau Animal Clinic strives to create a welcoming and well-maintained environment for its patients and their owners. Clients have noted that the facility is clean and well-maintained, contributing to a comfortable atmosphere for pets during their visits. The clinic prioritizes a friendly and professional approach, with staff consistently described as courteous and accommodating.
The clinic's philosophy centers on delivering quality medicine of the highest standard, combined with a deep sense of compassion for all pets that come through their doors. They also place a strong emphasis on educating clients, empowering pet parents to make informed decisions and provide the best possible care for their animals. This commitment to client education is a key aspect of their service, helping owners understand their pet's health needs and treatment options.
While the clinic generally receives positive feedback regarding staff friendliness and facility upkeep, one specific review highlighted a concern regarding a pet's condition after surgery. The pet was discharged with an "overwhelming odor of old urine," suggesting a potential lapse in post-operative hygiene. This indicates that while the clinic aims for high standards, occasional issues may arise. However, another client's positive experience with a second opinion for their senior dog, leading to significant improvement, demonstrates the clinic's capability in diagnosing and effectively treating complex cases where previous vets might have struggled. This shows a commitment to finding solutions and improving pet comfort.
Moreau Animal Clinic offers a comprehensive suite of veterinary services designed to address a wide array of pet health needs across various life stages. Their services include:
- Preventive Care: This is a cornerstone of their practice, encompassing essential services like yearly wellness exams for both canine and feline patients, vaccinations against common diseases, and parasite prevention (including heartworm and fecal testing). They offer specific preventative care programs tailored for puppies & kittens, as well as adult dogs and cats.
- Dental Care: Recognizing the importance of oral health, the clinic provides comprehensive dental services, including annual dental cleanings and preventative dental care, supported by digital dental radiographs for thorough assessment.
- Diagnostics: Moreau Animal Clinic is equipped to perform various diagnostic procedures to accurately identify health issues. This includes in-house laboratory capabilities for rapid results, digital radiographs (X-rays) for internal imaging, and ultrasound. They also offer electrocardiograms (ECG) for heart health, Doppler blood pressure monitoring, and tonometer eye pressure measurement.
- Surgical Services: The clinic offers a range of surgical procedures, including routine operations like spay and neuter, which are crucial for population control and pet health. While surgical care is provided, the specific type and complexity of surgeries offered beyond routine procedures should be confirmed directly with the clinic.
- Urgent Care: Moreau Animal Clinic is proud to offer urgent care services to the community. This service functions similarly to a human urgent care facility, meaning no appointment is necessary for immediate concerns. Clients can call ahead or walk in, and it's available to both existing and new clients. This provides a vital resource for pets needing prompt attention for non-life-threatening but urgent conditions. It's important to note that urgent care exams and services are priced differently from general practice appointments, and estimates are provided based on initial assessment. Urgent care hours are typically Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 6 PM, with no overnight or weekend urgent care services.
- Advanced Therapies: They offer laser therapy, a non-invasive, drug-free treatment that uses light to stimulate cell regeneration, increase blood flow, and alleviate pain. This therapy is beneficial for a variety of conditions including hip dysplasia, post-surgical recovery, arthritis, musculoskeletal injuries, hot spots, and ear infections. They also offer endoscopy for diagnosing conditions affecting the digestive and respiratory tracts.
- Pharmacy: The clinic provides a full in-house pharmacy, ensuring convenient access to prescribed medications.
One of the notable features of Moreau Animal Clinic is its emphasis on a knowledgeable veterinary team. The staff and doctors are praised for explaining all options clearly, which contributes to informed decision-making for pet owners. The clinic's ability to provide a second opinion that leads to significant improvement in a pet's health, as described by a client, highlights their diagnostic and treatment efficacy.
The introduction of Urgent Care Services is a significant feature, providing accessibility for pet owners facing immediate health concerns that may not be true emergencies but still require prompt attention. This walk-in service is a valuable community resource. The clinic also aims to minimize waiting times, indicating an efficient and considerate approach to client service.
Moreau Animal Clinic has multiple veterinarians on staff, including Dr. Nick Outterson, Dr. Jill Outterson, and Dr. Vrushali Chavan, each bringing diverse educational backgrounds and expertise, which contributes to a well-rounded approach to pet care. This team structure can be beneficial for managing various cases and providing comprehensive care.
The clinic is also committed to using technology for client convenience, such as offering an online pharmacy for prescription and food orders, delivered directly to the client's door. This enhances the overall client experience by making essential pet supplies readily accessible.
Moreau Animal Clinic occasionally offers promotional benefits to new clients. For instance, they may provide a "New Client Special" with an offer like $25 off the first visit. It is always recommended to mention such offers when booking an appointment and to verify their current availability and terms, as they are typically limited to one per new client and cannot be combined with other offers. These promotions can be a good incentive for new pet owners to experience the clinic's services.
To help manage the costs of pet healthcare, Moreau Animal Clinic also offers Pet Annual Wellness (PAW) Plans. These plans are designed to help manage preventive care costs and mitigate unexpected expenses throughout a pet's life stages. PAW Plans can be a valuable financial tool for pet owners, providing a structured way to budget for routine veterinary care. Clients interested in these plans should inquire directly with the clinic for details on enrollment and coverage. Additionally, like most veterinary practices, Moreau Animal Clinic likely accepts various forms of payment, including major credit cards, and may work with pet insurance providers and financing options such as CareCredit, allowing clients to make manageable payments for their pet's medical needs. It's always advisable to discuss payment options and obtain estimated costs for services before treatment.

May 23, 2025 · Minnie ThomasWanted to switch vets for my senior dog for a second opinion/ be closer to home, and Moreau did not disappoint. All the staff was very nice, our doctor was very knowledgeable and explained all our options. Just one day later my dog is eating better and seems more comfortable. Both things my previous vet could not accomplish from multiple tests and visits. Will definitely continue to come here with my pets. Thank you!

Feb 25, 2025 · Terry DeLucaIt's always been a great clinic, but the new owners have even enhanced it more. Recently lost my old girl, the vet and staff were so very very kind to me and treated my little girl so well. I also have a 9month old dog that loves to see the staff. Great care always
Jul 17, 2021 · Rosemary WhiteI have been to amazing vets before, maybe that is why going here was very less than amazing. The vet and vet tech I saw were not the best at all. I’ll save everyone from the details but don’t go here. I would never take any animal back to that place ever.
