I love this vet. I have previously gone here for my bosses cats and so appreciated the staff and how coordinated everything was. I live in Culver but it’s worth the drive to go here! I brought my cat in who wasn’t too excited but it was an easy and gentle process. I appreciate the staff and they send documents by email which helps me so much! Also they’ve sent pictures of the cats before while in treatment which I love!!

While specific architectural details of Mohawk Alley Animal Hospital's interior are not explicitly detailed in public information, the consistent positive feedback from customers regarding staff demeanor and the overall experience suggests a welcoming and professional environment. As a modern pet hospital, one would anticipate a clean, organized, and calming atmosphere designed to minimize stress for both pets and their owners. Typical features of such a facility would include a well-appointed waiting area, multiple examination rooms equipped for various diagnostic procedures, a surgical suite with appropriate monitoring equipment, and dedicated spaces for hospitalization and recovery. The hospital's location on W Sunset Blvd offers good accessibility for residents across Los Angeles, including surrounding neighborhoods like Silverlake, Atwater Village, Los Feliz, and Highland Park. Reviews indicate that they have a small parking lot accessible via an alleyway off Mohawk Street, which can be a valuable amenity in a busy urban area, though street parking is also an option if the lot is full.
Mohawk Alley Animal Hospital prides itself on being a full-service animal hospital, providing a broad range of veterinary care. Their offerings encompass vital preventive care, which is the cornerstone of long-term pet health. This includes routine wellness exams, vaccinations for common and serious canine and feline diseases, and comprehensive parasite prevention and control programs. Beyond preventive measures, they offer extensive diagnostic services, utilizing advanced tools such as an in-house laboratory for quick and accurate test results, and imaging capabilities like radiography and ultrasound to aid in precise diagnoses. For dental health, they provide complete dental care, from routine cleanings to more complex dental surgeries. Mohawk Alley also excels in surgical services, performing a variety of procedures including soft tissue surgery, spaying and neutering, and wound repair. Notably, they extend their care beyond conventional treatments by offering veterinary acupuncture, a holistic approach to pain relief and healing. Other specialized services include internal medicine, diagnosing and treating a range of internal conditions, and comprehensive geriatric care tailored to the specific needs of senior pets. They also provide dedicated puppy and kitten care, guiding new pet owners through the crucial first year of their pet's life. Furthermore, Mohawk Alley Animal Hospital offers limited urgent care services seven days a week, from 8 am to 6 pm, for urgent but non-emergent issues, advising clients to call ahead.
Several features distinguish Mohawk Alley Animal Hospital. One highly appreciated aspect, as noted by customer reviews, is their compassionate and attentive staff. Clients consistently praise the team for being "very kind and happy to answer questions," treating pets "great" and being "very caring." This personalized attention extends to addressing specific concerns and ensuring pets feel comfortable during visits, even for those who are typically anxious at the vet. The hospital's commitment to client communication is another standout feature, with staff sending documents by email, which greatly aids pet owners in keeping track of their pet's health records. The thoughtful gesture of sending "pictures of the cats before while in treatment" is a testament to their dedication to providing peace of mind to anxious pet parents. The fact that they are "open 7 days a week" from 8 am to 6 pm offers significant convenience for busy pet owners. They also maintain an online pharmacy, allowing clients to easily renew prescriptions and purchase specialty food, contributing to a seamless veterinary experience.
While the quality of care and staff compassion are frequently highlighted, some reviews mention that the services can be "a little pricey." However, this is often contextualized by the perception that you "get what you pay for," with clients expressing confidence in the high standard of care. Another point to note from feedback is that due to high demand, there might be a wait time for new patient exams, and it's always best to book appointments in advance, as same-day appointments might not always be possible. The staff's willingness to "discuss price with you first" and provide good-faith estimates before treatment, along with offering financing options like CareCredit, helps manage cost expectations.
Mohawk Alley Animal Hospital actively promotes its commitment to quality, integrity, and compassionate care. A notable promotional offer for new clients is a $25 wellness exam for cats and dogs, encouraging new pet owners to experience their services. This offer is valid for scheduled wellness appointments and cannot be combined with other promotions. Beyond specific discounts, their core promotion lies in their comprehensive service offering and dedicated team. They emphasize preventive care as key to long-term pet health and provide resources like an informative blog with tips and advice from their vets. For new clients, arriving approximately 10 minutes early to fill out the New Patient Form is recommended. Payment in full is expected at the time services are provided, with options including cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. The provision of an online pharmacy and an in-house pharmacy further enhances the accessibility of necessary medications and specialized diets. Overall, Mohawk Alley Animal Hospital presents itself as a dedicated and full-service veterinary partner for pet owners in Los Angeles, prioritizing both the medical needs and emotional well-being of their animal patients.

Apr 02, 2025 · Katy HansenStaff was very welcoming and treated my dog great. They were very caring with Sazzy on her first trip to her new vet. They also gave us this great bandana, although she did rip it up later in the evening
Jan 25, 2025 · Tarik Abdul-WahidI came here a few years ago, and never went back, but I thought it was important to tell my story. My dog was having blood and mucous in her bowels, and all the tests came back normal. They did an ultrasound and said her GI tract looked normal, and her spleen looked normal, but slightly enlarged, and asked to do a biopsy. I took pause, it didn't feel right, and said No. The Vet started really pressuring me to do the biopsy, but I kept saying No. I learned from two other Vetinarians that doing a biopsy on a spleen was a very risky procedure because of bleeding out. If the animal indicated sickness with Spleen, and the Spleen was diseased, the best option would be to just remove the Spleen. I honestly felt they just wanted to jack the bill than do what was right by my dog. I did repeat another ultrasound 6 months later at another facility, and her Spleen was normal. Thank the stars, I listened to my gut. Back to the blood and mucous in my dog's stool. They couldn't find anything wrong and the Vet suggested putting my dog on Flagyl for the rest of her life. I said, Let me think about that. After doing my own research, I suspected she had a food allergy, and discovered the culprit was beef. Stopped giving my dog beef, and she was fine. I asked the Vet if a food allergy could cause blood and mucous in stools, and she said Yes. So WHY didn't she bring that up ? She wanted to put my dog on high powered antibiotics for the rest of her life, and I had to figure out what was wrong. So no, I never went back, and have great Vetinarians now.
Mar 06, 2025 · C. FranklinI can't believe I'm writing this as I had previously written a glowing review about this place but I called today just to find out that my senior dog's veterinarian is no longer on staff and that there is absolutely no way to get a message to her even though she still "occasionally" does relief work for them. My response to this was some tears, as she is the only one familiar with my senior's history and my girl isn't currently doing too hot, (at no point did I receive an email or call that this vet was leaving the practice). When I pressed Myra (the front desk agent) about whether or not there was absolutely no way to even get a message through, she was dismissive and nasty and then immediately called me rude and refused to let me or my fiancé speak with the manager after multiple calls. I'm genuinely in shock as this place was my vet for years and I had never been treated or spoken to that way...I would look elsewhere if you're looking for empathetic vet care.
Mar 04, 2025 · Moriah BooneThe front desk team and the vet tech were super friendly. Dr. Legaspi was kind to my dog and I appreciated her approach during the exam. She really made my dog feel comfortable. I also liked the time she devoted to discussing my concerns and I never felt rushed.
