As a rabbit owner, I am very grateful to have such an excellent exotic vet located within half an hour's drive! There are lot of vets who claim to be experienced with rabbits, but treat them callously like livestock for bulking and showing, and where the staff are dangerously misinformed and tell you to fast your rabbit before surgery... Milwood Animal Clinic is the opposite of this! Dr. Smitley is very informed and knowledgeable about bunnies and I can be at ease that my fur babies are getting the best care! Everyone including the vet techs and the front staff are always incredibly friendly and caring and the whole atmosphere makes you feel welcome and let's you know you're in good hands. Care for exotic pets is always going to be expensive (something that every owner of an exotic pet should be aware of going into adopting), but I love how transparent they are here about the cost of every step of treatment, and that they don't pressure you into unnecessary procedures but give you everything you need to be informed, as well as work with you so that you can arrange for care as needed. So far, in addition to routine checkups and both minor and major health issues with my buns, I've had two of my girls spayed here, and even though it's a stressful process for both me and my bunnies, the support throughout the entire process has been phenomenal! Again, I can't tell you how very reassuring it is to not only have an exotic vet, but such an excellent one at that for my furry best friends!

When he has a health issue, we appreciate that Milwood Animal Clinic is so willing to get our dog in as soon as they can so he can start to feel better! They are knowledgeable and thorough, and we are so glad to have them as a resource for our pets.

They have made our lives so much easier with helpful suggestions and their willingness to consider our thoughts on our pet’s care. Any between visit communication is quick and accurate, and assistance with prescription refills is top notch. The office is clean and welcoming, and their fees are quite reasonable given the amount of time and care they provide!

I have been going here for over 10 years between the two ferrets I used to own a dog and now my cat Gary. They give superb care. They are super friendly and very knowledgeable. You can tell they actually care about you and the animals genuinely. They take exotic animals unlike most animal clinics. Animals such as ferrets, birds, reptiles, etc. Their facility is super clean all the time. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommend this place you will get the right care for your whatever pet you bring in.
