I came to this clinic for a consultation regarding a dental cleaning for my dog. At that time, I was given an estimate of $700 to $900. A week later, I showed up for the procedure only to be handed a form stating the new price range was actually $1,200 to $1,600. No warning, no explanation beforehand—just a last-minute bait and switch. To be clear, the assistant I dealt with was kind and did his best to adjust the price to match what I was originally quoted. Despite his efforts, the lowest they were willing to go was still $990 to $1,200—hundreds more than I had budgeted for and agreed to. When I asked to speak with the doctor, hoping for clarity, I was met with dismissiveness. He deflected responsibility by saying, “I didn’t have a computer that day,” and told me not to hold him to the numbers he originally gave. The “computer” in question? A tablet—fully capable of accessing accurate information. In other words, he gave me a wildly inaccurate estimate and now expected me to pay for it. After going back and forth, I told them I no longer wanted the procedure done and asked for a refund of the $63 I paid for the initial consultation, since the information I received was clearly unreliable. They flat-out refused. This place does not stand by its word, its estimates, or its responsibility to clients. I’m writing this review as a warning: if you want transparency, professionalism, or basic courtesy, look elsewhere. In response: Thank you for responding, but I feel it’s important to correct some of the claims made here. At my initial consultation, I was given a verbal estimate of $700 to $900. I was not provided a written estimate showing the higher cost you later asked for. If I had been, I would not have agreed to move forward with the procedure. When I arrived for my dog’s dental cleaning, I was suddenly presented with paperwork stating the procedure would cost between $1,200 and $1,600, a much higher price than originally discussed. There had been no prior notice of this change. Naturally, I was confused and concerned, so I calmly asked to speak with the doctor for clarification. Instead of addressing the issue directly, Dr. Grasso told me he “didn’t have a computer that day” and claimed I shouldn’t have relied on the numbers he gave. That is not how professional estimates should be handled. I did not become aggressive. I did not shout or behave inappropriately. I asked for a refund of the $63 consultation fee since the information I was given was not accurate. That request was denied. I chose to involve the police not to cause a scene, but to document what I believe was a case of dishonest business conduct. I left the practice with all my records and have since filed formal complaints with the appropriate state and consumer authorities. Anyone reading this should know I made every effort to resolve this in a reasonable way. I was misled on pricing, denied a refund, and treated with disrespect. That is the experience I had, and I stand by this review.

Welcome to Milford Animal Hospital
Milford Animal Hospital, located at 123 Chippy Cole Rd, Milford, PA 18337, USA, is a Pet Hospital serving the local community. If you are a pet owner in Milford, PA, considering Milford Animal Hospital for your veterinary needs, it's important to have a comprehensive understanding of what to expect. Based on publicly available reviews, experiences appear to vary among pet owners.
One detailed review describes a significant discrepancy between an initial consultation estimate for a dog's dental cleaning (quoted as $700 to $900) and the price presented on the day of the procedure ($1,200 to $1,600). The reviewer states there was no prior warning or explanation for this substantial increase, characterizing it as a "bait and switch." While an assistant reportedly attempted to adjust the price, the lowest offered range ($990 to $1,200) was still considerably higher than the original estimate. The reviewer also recounts a dismissive response from the doctor regarding the initial estimate, citing a lack of access to a computer (a tablet) on the consultation day and advising against relying on those initial figures. Furthermore, the reviewer's request for a refund of the $63 consultation fee, due to the perceived unreliability of the information provided, was reportedly denied. This experience led the reviewer to advise others to seek veterinary care elsewhere if they value transparency, professionalism, and basic courtesy, and they indicated filing complaints with relevant authorities.
In contrast to this negative experience, another reviewer offers a positive perspective, specifically praising Jenny, the technician, for being experienced and knowledgeable, and Dr. Sean for being patient, a good listener, and sincere. This reviewer, who brought their dog for its first veterinary experience, reported that it went well and recommended Milford Animal Hospital without reservation, also noting the efficiency of the administrative staff. This feedback suggests that some pet owners have had positive interactions with certain members of the Milford Animal Hospital team.
Based on these limited reviews, it's challenging to provide a comprehensive overview of the typical environment and range of services offered at Milford Animal Hospital. However, we can infer that they offer dental cleaning procedures, consultations, and general veterinary care. The positive review indicates the presence of experienced technicians and patient doctors. The negative review raises concerns about transparency in pricing and the handling of estimates.
Features of Milford Animal Hospital, as perceived through these reviews, include having experienced and knowledgeable staff members like Jenny the technician, and a doctor, Sean, who is described as patient and sincere. However, a potential concern raised is the accuracy and reliability of cost estimates provided, particularly for procedures like dental cleanings. The discrepancy reported between the initial quote and the final price, along with the handling of the consultation fee refund request, could be a point of consideration for prospective clients.

May 16, 2025 · Alejandra Ridell LangsdorfJenny, the technician is excellent! Experienced and knowledgeable! Sean, the doctor is patient, listens, and is sincere. It was my "dog's" (actually, my best friend) first experience with a vet, and it went well! I recommend them without reservation. The administrative staff is also on point.
Apr 28, 2025 · John ThiesOur lab has a seizure disorder, thank you to milford animal hospital for helping us come to this conclusion. But the way they went about things was all upside down and I can agree with past reviews doctor is money hungry I am happy for how quickly they were to get us in for our appointment but our first visit with them was just a check after our puppy had her 2nd seizure, they did bloodwork to see what could possibly be causing the seizures. her bloodwork came back pretty much normal besides her Cortisol level which was extremely low. They wanted to do another blood test to check if she possibly had addison disease ($173) they also offered to give her IV fluids ($55) which we unfortunately had to decline both because our bill was already over $400 for just bloodwork and the exam. So they sent us home with a plan of care as following; wait two weeks to see if she had another seizure and if she did we would bring her back in. On exactly the 2 week mark our dog had 4 seizure in one day, after her first seizure of that day I called them they were able to get us in that same day. When we got there our appointment was supposed to be at 1:30 and we didn’t get into the exam room until close to 2pm, the doctor came in and told us he wanted to redo the bloodwork that they had done only 2 weeks prior and wanted to do the addisons test ontop of that bloodwork, my husband and I agreed that we couldn’t afford to do both so doctor told us that our best bet was to rule out addisons disease, if we ruled that out she more than likely just had epilepsy. So we decided to do the addisons test while we were waiting for the bloodwork results our dog had a seizure in office. We rushed to get the doctor so he could see exactly what the seizures looked like, and they gave her a rescue medicine. While there were 4 people in and out the room (Both doctors, and two techs) not one person mentioned that the rescue medicine would run us another $75. At the end of this visit they quoted us for $380 (including the exam, bloodwork, and her seizure medication) - when my husband went to check out they told him it was $475 and my husband was so confused as to where the extra money came from, so he asked. The doctor never changed our dogs file (they were going to charge us for both bloodwork’s even though we denied the repeat one) They told us we had to call when we had 10 days left of her 40 day prescription, and she would need to go back every 6 months for bloodwork. Fast forward to 10 days of medication, we call them and they tell us we have to go back in for more bloodwork ($120) before they would give us another 30 day prescription. I told them what the doctor had previously told us and they proceeded to tell me she needed bloodwork to check her levels after 1 month of being on the medication and refused to give us her medication. My husband called talked to a different lady and the second lady told him that they will get her prescription ready for her in the next day or two. Thankfully the second lady who helped us got her medication for us and we proceeded with releasing her records so we could switch veterinarians. Once we received ours medical records from them to send to another vet, they stated wrong and image damaging information about my husband.
Apr 22, 2025 · Chelsea WilliamsOver the past 2 years, we have brought our cat and 2 dogs to Milford Animal Hospital for a wide range of treatments - checkups, skin disease, spaying, deep, intrusive surgery, etc. The staff at MAH have always been polite, cheerful, and, above all, helpful. I've never left feeling unsure of what was going on with our pets, and I've never felt like we were given anything but honesty. Even when I questioned the price of something, Dr. Grasso was straightforward and honest - no runaround. I've been to many vets in my time as a pet owner, and I would rate Milford AH at the highest levels, in every regard.
