Dr. Alia Habhab and her team were absolutely amazing. They saved Mae's life from a nasty case of bumble foot. Dr. Alia went above and beyond for months, working to make sure Mae had the proper medication and wound care. They took their time educating us on how to give the medication and wrap her foot and Dr Alia checked on Mae constantly. She definitely cares about her patients and their families and she was always so kind to my kiddos, making them feel welcome and included at the clinic. We will continue going to Dr. Alia and the Midwest Bird & Exotic team for all of our birds!

Everyone is so nice & pleasant! Awesome experience! The best place to take your exotic animals. I've had my parrot 37 yrs with chronic issues & have been going to them that long. They treated my guinea pigs as well. They sincerely care & do their best to treat the animals & explain things so you understand. Very caring. Thank you for compassionate care!

I found this vet while looking for an emergency vet to take my Guinea pig, Marion, after she took a turn after receiving care at another vet who was not only rude to me but also would not work with me to try to get her in right away. I am SO happy I found Midwest Bird and Exotics!! Elmwood Park is an area I am very familiar with since my great grandma lived there for 50 years literally down the street from this location! They got Marion in as an emergency right away and I was able to get her seen very fast. The staff all was so nice and helpful and I felt very comfortable letting them work on Marion. The vet was so kind and Marion really enjoyed the staff! She even purred which she did not do at my previous vet. They gave me extra time with her which I will always be thankful for. They put her on new medications to help reduce the gas in her stomach as well as gave her pain medicine and fluids. She did end up being comfortable and was squeaking and even did a zoomie for her favorite lettuce! She did unfortunately have to be put down after taking another turn and becoming critical. They got Marion in on a Sunday as an emergency and got her in the back right away. They got her under blankets and warm water bags to try to warm her temperature. It was unfortunately her time as her condition kept getting worse and since she was 8, she was very sensitive and could have passed at any moment. They let me spend time with her before I gave the okay and even gave me her paw prints in ink which I will always treasure. Thank you guys so much for everything and taking such amazing care of my Marion, she was so important to me and my family and I know she was in really good hands and she loved you guys (since she purred and she didnt do that often with new people since she was a rescue and didn’t have the best life before she came to me). I will be taking my exotics to you guys from now on!!! Thank you so much again ❤️❤️ I’ve attached some of my favorite pictures of Marion. She was one of a kind ❤️

Midwest Bird and Exotic is AMAZING. I had to take my bunny Dusty there in an emergency when he had a lot of air in his belly and they went to work on him quickly! They took him back, checked him out, and their doctor called me with the plan. They gave an estimate of services and quickly got to work on getting him better 💖 I was a mess but I trusted that he was in good hands and after a couple of days in the hospital he got to come home with us! They were great in answering any questions I had after he was home with us as well! I highly recommend them! Dusty thanks you as well as his girlfriend Delilah 💖🙏🏻
