Highly Recommended! 5 Plus Stars Thank you, Melissa B. and the entire team, for your great service! Thank you, Joanna Bender, for taking good care of Melo. My Sister Pam told me when first he arrived at the hospital, he tried to turn around and leave the building, but we knew it was his time. So now, he has returned to us, and I could hear the excitement is my sister's voice. We are very Thankful to you and your entire staff for your patience, care and understanding during this DIFFICULT time. What a 'Beautiful' job you have done! We are so proud and happy to have your service. Melo was the "Love' of our life, and we miss him dearly, but you have made this difficult time a little easier for us to deal with and we Thank you so much! Remember Always! Angie (Pam's Sis)

Welcome to Midtown Veterinary Hospital

Midtown Veterinary Hospital, situated at 85 University Ave in Rochester, NY, serves the local community as a Pet Hospital offering veterinary care for animal companions. With a contact phone number of (585) 546-1550 or mobile phone +1 585-546-1550, the hospital is accessible to pet owners in the Rochester area seeking medical services for their animals.

Based on the available reviews from real customers, experiences at Midtown Veterinary Hospital appear to be varied. One review expresses profound gratitude towards Melissa B., Joanna Bender, and the entire team for their service during a difficult time involving the loss of a beloved pet named Melo. The client specifically thanks Joanna Bender for her care of Melo and acknowledges the patience, care, and understanding shown by the staff. They describe the handling of Melo's passing as "Beautiful" and express thankfulness for the support provided, which made the difficult time a little easier to bear. This review highlights the compassionate care and empathy offered by some members of the Midtown Veterinary Hospital team, particularly in sensitive situations such as end-of-life care.

In contrast, another recent review details a significantly negative experience. This client, who had been visiting the hospital for 5 to 6 years, states that their recent visit will be their last. The review alleges that the client overheard condescending remarks made by the assistants and the veterinarian behind a closed door. The client recounts a specific instance where a statement they made regarding their dog's preventative care was allegedly repeated and laughed at by the staff. This perceived lack of respect and professionalism from the veterinary team left the client feeling as though they were being treated as unintelligent ("like I’m STUPID").

Furthermore, this negative review mentions a delay in being seen for their appointment. Despite arriving 17 minutes early for a 3:40 PM appointment, they were not seen until 4:00 PM. The client also expresses frustration with what they perceive as a consistent pressure to undergo additional services beyond their stated need for vaccinations. They describe a feeling that the veterinary team acts superior and attempts to push unnecessary services. The client explicitly states that they visit the vet for vaccinations and do not appreciate being told what to do with their dog or being made fun of for their choices. The reviewer also notes the perceived irony of being told their senior dog is very healthy after overhearing the staff's derisive behavior. The client concludes by stating they directly confronted the veterinarian (Brender) about the behavior and will no longer be a customer.

Considering these two contrasting reviews, it is challenging to provide a comprehensive and universally positive description of the environment, services, and features of Midtown Veterinary Hospital. The positive review suggests a caring and supportive environment, particularly in emotionally sensitive situations, with staff members like Melissa B. and Joanna Bender being commended for their compassion and professionalism. The negative review, however, paints a picture of a potentially disrespectful and unprofessional atmosphere, at least in the interaction described, with allegations of condescending behavior and pressure to pursue additional services.

Regarding services, based on the limited information in the reviews, it can be inferred that Midtown Veterinary Hospital offers general veterinary services, including vaccinations and end-of-life care (euthanasia). The negative review also suggests that the hospital may promote or push other services beyond basic preventative care. However, the full range of services offered, such as routine check-ups, dental care, diagnostics (like X-rays or lab work), or surgical procedures, cannot be definitively determined from the provided text.

In terms of features, the positive review highlights the team's patience, care, and understanding, suggesting a client-focused approach in certain situations. The negative review, conversely, points to a potential feature of perceived superiority and pressure for additional services, along with alleged unprofessional behavior behind closed doors. It is important to note that these are based on individual experiences and may not represent the entirety of the hospital's features or the consistent experience of all clients.

No information regarding promotional offers or special programs at Midtown Veterinary Hospital is mentioned in the provided reviews. Therefore, local users interested in learning about any potential promotions are advised to contact the hospital directly at (585) 546-1550 or +1 585-546-1550 to inquire.

In conclusion, Midtown Veterinary Hospital in Rochester, NY, appears to elicit varied responses from its clients. While one review praises the compassionate and supportive care received during a difficult time, another details a deeply negative experience characterized by perceived condescending behavior, unprofessionalism, and pressure for additional services. Potential local users should consider these differing perspectives when evaluating Midtown Veterinary Hospital for their pet care needs. Given the conflicting accounts, it would be prudent to contact the hospital directly to inquire about their environment, the full scope of their services, their approach to client communication and care, and any current promotional offers to form a well-rounded understanding.

As a Pet Hospital, Midtown Veterinary Hospital is expected to provide medical care for animals. However, the quality of the client experience, as reflected in these reviews, seems to be inconsistent. The positive feedback regarding compassionate end-of-life care is noteworthy, while the negative feedback concerning staff behavior and communication raises concerns. Local pet owners may want to seek further information or consider these points in conjunction with their own priorities when choosing a veterinary care provider for their beloved animals in Rochester, NY.

It is essential for any Pet Hospital to maintain a professional and respectful environment for both pets and their owners. The stark contrast between the two provided reviews underscores the importance of consistent and positive client interactions. While the compassionate care described in one review is commendable, the allegations in the other review regarding staff conduct and communication are serious and should be a point of consideration for prospective clients. Without further information or a broader range of reviews, it is difficult to form a definitive overall assessment of Midtown Veterinary Hospital. Therefore, direct communication with the hospital is recommended for those seeking veterinary services at this location.

I have been coming here for 5 - 6 years, something like that. This Will be the last time I come here. You know I can hear your condescending remarks through the door, right? It was the whole interaction behind the door between the assistants and the vet. “If it works for me then it works for her” is what I told the vet tech AND then the sheer audacity to repeat what I said and then laugh at me from behind the door like I’m stupid…... like I’m STUPID. My dog is going on 11, so I think I’m doing alright guys. I CHOOSE to not poison my friend every month. My appointment was at 3:40. I got here at 3:23 just to be courteous. It is now 4 pm and we are just being seen. That’s why I was on my phone when the Vet walked in….. writing this. Why the hostility on my end? Because every time I go to this vet they try and make it seem like they are holier than God and try and push all the services they can because they “know better”. I don’t come to the vet to be told what to do with my dog and then made fun of; I come to the vet for vaccinations…. Full Stop. It’s a slap to the face to then be told “You’re dog is very healthy for a senior” after hearing them laugh at me behind the door as if “YOU are better than me”. Mind you, I absolutely called the Vet out for such behavior. I looked her right in the eyes (Brender). I will never give you my money again or grace you with the presence of Georgia Peach.

People I came to this place with my dog a mini Golden Doodle and was referred to them by petco because of how matted she was. These people ask me to book an appointment and leave a $85 deposit. I did that just to get my dog there and they tell my son who took her there for me to take her back to petco but the one in Greece NY. So I callled and spoke to petco and they said specifically they weren’t able to do it there at petco and now I’m just flat out of $85 for no service or anything but go to petco wow pls you guys if you can do not come here they just want your money 💯

Very friendly staff. The vets, nurses or support vets were so kind and amazing. They were patient and listened. They didn't try to over sell me or over medicate. I really appreciate that. Nothing but smiles after.

Horrible experience. Vet prescribed medication that was unnecessary for my 2lb 3month old toy Aussie doodle. Which made him sicker. He did not have severe diarrhea to be prescribed metronidazole which is way too strong of antibiotic for his small body. On top of that. She passed the flea comb, saw flea dust and even though she prescribed the correct medication. She didn’t thoroughly check him to answer me when I asked “so does he have fleas?” All she said was “well if he does this should take care of it. “. Also the pricing is ridiculous. I found a vet that has higher ratings and has even lower prices than they do. Crazy right. Definitely not worth the money spent. And not worth taking your pet there if you want someone to truly care for them and be attentive to their needs the way you are.
