The nurses were friendly and obviously love pets of all kinds. Hans was all tail wags and happy even though he felt bad. The doctor was amazing and gentle and solved his ongoing problem that had gone undiagnosed for years. He's like a brand new dog. 10/10 would recommend!

The environment at Memorial Veterinary Hospital - Dickson City aims to facilitate the provision of medical care. Like many veterinary practices, it is equipped to handle various aspects of pet health. The hospital environment is designed to accommodate different types of appointments, from routine check-ups to more involved diagnostic procedures. A clean and organized facility is generally expected in a medical setting, and the hospital strives to maintain such standards for the comfort and safety of the animals under its care.
Memorial Veterinary Hospital - Dickson City offers a range of services that fall under the umbrella of a comprehensive "Pet Hospital." While a full list of all services is best confirmed by contacting the hospital directly, information available suggests they provide core veterinary care, including:

These tools are crucial for accurately diagnosing illnesses and injuries.

The perception of Memorial Veterinary Hospital - Dickson City varies among clients, highlighting a complex picture of their services and client interactions. On one hand, there are highly positive accounts praising the medical expertise and compassionate approach of the staff. One satisfied customer vividly described an experience with their dog, Hans: "The nurses were friendly and obviously love pets of all kinds. Hans was all tail wags and happy even though he felt bad. The doctor was amazing and gentle and solved his ongoing problem that had gone undiagnosed for years. He's like a brand new dog. 10/10 would recommend!" This review underscores the capacity for effective diagnosis, gentle handling, and successful treatment, resulting in significant improvement in a pet's health and a highly satisfied owner.
Conversely, there is a very strong negative review that raises serious concerns about the hospital's handling of a specific situation involving a sick, stray cat and the interaction with the individual attempting to help. This review describes a highly "unpleasant experience" where the hospital allegedly "denied us any assistance" and threatened to call the police, followed the individual outside, and used "vulgar language" and offensive gestures. This account describes a perceived lack of care for animals and people, leading the reviewer to "strongly recommend thinking twice before visiting this establishment." This contrasting feedback indicates that while some clients have excellent experiences with medical care, there are significant issues regarding how certain situations, particularly those involving stray or emergency animals outside of typical patient protocols, are managed, and how staff interact with the public in stressful circumstances.
Regarding promotional information, similar to many veterinary practices, Memorial Veterinary Hospital - Dickson City likely focuses on encouraging proactive pet care through regular wellness visits. Their commitment to offering services like laser therapy suggests an investment in modern treatment modalities. For managing the cost of care, veterinary hospitals often work with pet insurance providers and may offer payment solutions such as CareCredit or Scratchpay to help clients finance unexpected or larger medical expenses. They likely emphasize the importance of preventive care plans, which can help budget for routine health services and potentially prevent more costly conditions down the line. However, specific ongoing promotions or new client offers are best confirmed by contacting the hospital directly via phone or by visiting their official website, as these can change periodically.
In conclusion, Memorial Veterinary Hospital - Dickson City presents itself as a "Pet Hospital" providing a range of medical services for companion animals in Scranton, PA. Feedback from clients offers a dual perspective: some praise the expertise of their veterinarians and the compassionate care provided, particularly when successfully treating long-standing pet ailments. This highlights the hospital's capability to deliver high-quality medical outcomes. However, a significant and concerning account points to severe deficiencies in client interaction and a perceived lack of compassion in a crisis situation involving a stray animal. Potential clients should consider both aspects when evaluating Memorial Veterinary Hospital - Dickson City for their pet's needs, weighing the positive experiences of medical treatment against the serious concerns raised about specific handling of public interactions and emergency situations.

Jun 12, 2023 · JennieI had the most unpleasant experience yesterday at Memorial veterinarian Hospital. On June 13th 2024 my children, and I found a very sick and malnourished cat in front of our front door shaded under our bench, this poor creature could barely lift its head and seem that it had given up in life, no one placed this cat here which tells me that his last steps were to climb and crawl his way up eight steps just to shade itself under our bench. We tried given it water and food, but it refused to consumed any of it. My oldest daughter contacted nearby, veterinarians and shelters, but all were closed, except for one we quickly rushed in hopes that they would help this creature in anyway shape or form, but when we arrived, they denied us any assistance and Suggested that we traveled an hour to Plains PA, I refused to do such thing because this cat seemed that it didn’t have much time left, let alone an hour after being outside due to heat and without any water or food. I made it very clear that I would leave this cat in their hands since they are the professionals. They threatened to call the police on me And followed me outside, one of them even try standing behind my vehicle to prevent me from driving away while my three daughters ages 10, 12 and 17 were in the car, they also shouted out vulgar language and called me an a**Hole and one flipped me the middle finger. I felt as I was committing a crime or got treated as if I stole something from them, when we all try to do was help this poor creature at its worse time. It is very clearly that Memorial Vet Hospital does not care about animals or people. I would strongly recommend thinking twice before visiting this establishment. If I was not a single father taking care of three young girls, an English Mastiff, a Tabby cat and was more financially stable, we would have considered taking in this cat, but for the safety of my kids and this cat I felt it was a better choice to have left it in the hands of professionals. Once again, very rude people and they forgot why they became veterinarians in the first place….
Jun 14, 2024 · Fernando GuerraWent to have my wife’s dog euthanized. He nipped her early in the morning while trying to give him his medicine that he didn’t like and because of that, they had to take the dogs head off to be sent out for rabies testing. Now it’s not about the fact that had to be done, it’s a PA law I get that. We didn’t know about it. The vet tech didn’t prepare us for such a thing. Just asked if he bit anyone within 10 days and my wife showed him and he said well sorry, but we’re going to have to take his head. Nothing like bedside manner. No heads up like, I’m about to tell you something that may be tough to hear, nope! None of that. Just, we’re going to have to take his head off. Thanks for the pep talk. Made a terrible experience infinitely more horrible with their words and the way it was handled. Maybe next time let the grieving family know what you’re about to say to them because like us, and everyone I’ve told since, have never heard of this stupid PA law that requires the head of the dog to be cut off and sent out.
Mar 18, 2025 · Turtle G 570Memorial Vet hospital has always been my family's vet choice. We just recently had to put our dog to sleep. As expected, it was a very hard thing to do, however the staff here made the experience so much easier. I was not personally there this time, but my parents explained everything to me once they arrived home. They were taken back immediately upon arrival and the receptionist sat with them explaining everything that was going to happen. For as hard of an experience as this was, the compassion shown from the clinic staff was beyond what words can describe. We were given a keepsake with our dog's paw print and hair, as well as a heartfelt letter from Dr. Holly in the mail expressing her condolences for our lost family member. I highly recommend memorial vet to anyone looking for someone to provide care for their best friend.
Nov 24, 2024 · David CikotaThis vet is always so nice and accommodating. They treat my cats how I treat them, with love.
