Medlin Exotic Animal Medical Services

My Sun Conure was not doing well after the having him for 31 years. I brought him to Dr Medlin's practice a few times. The staff and doctor were very accommodating and caring towards my pet bird. They also took care of my bird's cremation. It was very hard picking up my bird's ashes. I was so surprised to find a sympathy card from all of the office staff and doctor for my pet bird's passing It was very comforting and I was thrilled with their thoughtfulness!

We have had big lizards (Iguana's) since 1991. 2 years ago we obtained a baby Rhino Iguana, we named him Rex. Rex loves blueberries for treats. Long story short, Rex was running around the house, playing with the dog. I was cleaning a monitor enclosure and the terrarium knob lock rolled on the floor. I assume Rex thought it was a blueberry and before I could get it, Rex decided to eat it! This morning, Dr. Medlin did emergency surgery and retrieved the metal knob lock from his intestines. Rex is in recovery. Dr. Medlin called us with progress throughout the procedure and kept us informed of what was going on. We got progress reports from the office manager Kenda. The office staff and animal techs were outstanding. It almost felt to easy. We have many contacts in the reptile community in Southwest Florida and will always recommend Dr. Medlin and his staff when you need urgent, emergent or preventative care for your reptiles.

I had my first visit with Dr. Anderson, and I couldn’t be more impressed. Her exceptional care and thoroughness in examining my cockatiel truly stood out. She took the time to address every question with patience and expertise, ensuring my bird’s health and well-being were prioritized. The staff was equally amazing—friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire visit. It’s clear this team genuinely cares about their patients, and I left feeling confident that my cockatiel was in the best hands. Highly recommend Dr. Anderson and her wonderful staff for avian care!

Accompanied my son to an appointment with his Bearded Dragon, Henry. It was his first visit; just a wellness check up, as Henry is a new addition and wanted to make sure he was healthy. I made the initial phone call to schedule the appointment. Stellar customer service (I spoke to a gentleman, I cannot remember his name). He was so well spoken, polite, informative and explained the scheduling process (specifically, their requirement of a deposit for new clients, which I think is great to ensure clients show up for their appointments!). Our visit today was top notch. The receptionist who checked us in was very warm and kind. The vet tech was cheerful and informative. The doctor was just as kind, informative and answered all of our questions. The facility is very well kept and clean. To keep Henry healthy, we will be sure to make yearly wellness visits! Being in the veterinary field myself (small animal), we strive to do our best; to be accommodating, compassionate, understanding and listening to the concerns of pet owners, as well as coming up with treatments plans or recommendations that are suitable for our patients. As we know, and unfortunately, we cannot always please everyone. You guys are fantastic and will be highly recommended if ever someone asks for an exotic referral! They took amazing care of our Marley!!!! 10/10 recommend this place for your rabbit needs! The entire staff was caring and courteous. Facilities are clean and feel safe! They are the best in my opinion.
