Do not go here. I would give a negative rating but it won't allow me to, so I gave it a 1 star rating. They drop you without any warning, the only reason I found out was my husband contacted me saying that the treasurer's office would not register our dog because her rabies shot was not updated (or I would have not known). Dr. Mc Kenna stated to me that he did NOT work for me - since I pay him then who does he work for? They are rude and very inconsiderate! We were never late on our payments, we have been perfect clients, we only went there when we needed to, but when we asked for the reason why they dropped us, they would (Dr. Mc Kenna & his employee's) would not tell me - they gave us no notice (either via phone or written) and stated that they can do whatever they wanted because they could and he hung up on me. Be warned!!

Welcome to Mc Kenna's Veterinary Services

Welcome to Mc Kenna's Veterinary Services, your local Pet Hospital situated at 1107 Banta Rd, Low Point, IL 61545, USA. As a dedicated pet care platform, Mc Kenna's Veterinary Services aims to provide comprehensive and reliable healthcare for your animal companions. Understanding the deep bond between pet owners and their furry, scaled, or feathered friends, this establishment strives to offer a range of services to ensure their well-being.

Operating as a vital part of the local pet care ecosystem, Mc Kenna's Veterinary Services functions as a Pet Hospital, offering a variety of medical and diagnostic services. While specific details about the clinic's environment, such as the size of the facility, the number of examination rooms, or the availability of specialized equipment, are not explicitly provided in the given information, it is reasonable to infer that as a functioning veterinary service, the premises are equipped to handle routine check-ups, vaccinations, and various medical procedures. A typical pet hospital environment prioritizes cleanliness and comfort for both the animals and their owners, aiming to create a stress-free atmosphere during visits. You might expect designated waiting areas, examination rooms tailored for different types of animals, and potentially areas for housing animals requiring overnight care or specific treatments.

The services offered at Mc Kenna's Veterinary Services likely encompass a broad spectrum of veterinary care. Based on the positive customer review, it is evident that the clinic provides diagnostic services, including running tests to identify illnesses. The case of the 7-month-old kitten highlights the ability of the veterinary team to diagnose and initiate treatment promptly, even when the primary veterinarian, Dr. McKenna, is working off-site. This suggests a well-coordinated team capable of handling urgent situations and providing timely care. Standard services expected from a pet hospital typically include routine health check-ups, vaccinations to prevent common diseases, parasite control (such as flea, tick, and heartworm prevention), dental care, nutritional counseling, and microchipping for identification purposes. Depending on the facilities and expertise available, they may also offer surgical procedures, laboratory services (blood work, urinalysis, etc.), and imaging services (like X-rays).

Features of Mc Kenna's Veterinary Services, as gleaned from the limited information, include the direct involvement and oversight of Dr. McKenna, even when he is not physically present at the clinic. The positive review underscores his commitment to patient care by remotely guiding the staff and ensuring a swift diagnosis and treatment plan for a sick kitten. This suggests a system in place for effective communication and remote consultation, which can be a significant advantage in time-sensitive situations. The willingness of the staff to follow Dr. McKenna's directions and their ability to conduct necessary tests indicates a level of competence and teamwork within the clinic.

However, it is crucial to acknowledge the negative feedback provided by another customer. This review raises serious concerns about the clinic's communication practices, client relations, and the abrupt termination of services without prior notification or explanation. The customer alleges rudeness and inconsiderate behavior from both Dr. McKenna and his employees, as well as a refusal to provide a reason for being dropped as clients. This negative experience highlights potential issues with customer service and practice management that prospective clients should be aware of. It is important to consider all available feedback when making decisions about veterinary care for your pets.

Given the conflicting customer experiences, it is challenging to provide definitive promotional information. However, based on the positive review, one could infer that a potential strength of Mc Kenna's Veterinary Services is their commitment to going "above and beyond" for their animal patients. The instance of the sick kitten being diagnosed and treated promptly, potentially saving its life, speaks to the dedication and responsiveness of the veterinary team in certain situations. This suggests that when they are engaged and providing care effectively, they can deliver positive outcomes for pets.

In conclusion, Mc Kenna's Veterinary Services operates as a Pet Hospital in Low Point, IL, offering a range of veterinary services. Dr. McKenna and his staff have always gone above and beyond for my animals. Recently, one of my 7 month old kittens got sick & stopped eating but Dr. McKenna working off site. Still, he directed the staff to run tests and forward him the results. Within a couple hours she had a diagnosis and a start on treatment. Given the severity of the illness, she likely would have died over the weekend. Now she’s back to being a loving, curious kitten. Thank you from Lilith (and Opal)!

Took my 3 yr old Frenchie to get his nailed trimmed. He gets snippy when it comes to that so the vet used sedation but gave him twice the dose which resulted in his death. He was so kind not to charge us for the drugs used but still charged us 268.00 to have him cremated. I’ve had multiple conversations with fellow pet owners with horrible outcomes with this so called Veterinary Clinic. Including a K-9 officer.

We are so grateful for Dr. McKenna + his team! They treated us so well even as new clients + took such good care of our dog. We left a vet five minutes from our house to come to Dr. McKenna’s office 30 minutes away and it was an easy decision to make :) Thank you so much for the wonderful service!
