I brought my dog in a couple weeks ago with a bite wound. Initially, the secretary told me their first opening was at 6pm (it was 3:45 at the time.) I was a little panicky bc I didn’t want the wound to get dirty. I asked if someone could clean her up in the meantime and initially the secretary said they wouldn’t be able to until 6. I was a little frustrated and shared my concern that I had quickly bandaged her up and didn’t think the bandage would hold for another 2 hours and if anything, was hoping someone could temporarily bandage her up. At this point the other secretary offered to get a vet tech. I’m really glad I pushed for this because the vet tech came out and looked at her wound and brought her right to the back to shave the area down and clean her up. The vet tech offered to keep her in the back until the vet was able to see her at 6. The vet was very thorough when explaining the damage to me. They were concerned about a possible air pocket and told me what to look out for. They also sent me home with printed information so I could educate myself which was super helpful. Naturally, like the paranoid pet parent I am, I called daily to make sure what I was seeing was normal. The techs were always so friendly and asked me questions about the wound site to make sure it was healing correctly. When I brought her in to get her tube out, they were super friendly, helpful and informative. Each time I brought her back for a check up (to get staples out, etc) the vet techs always knew who she was and treated her like she was their own. I am so grateful for the experience I had with them. (I didn’t want to add gruesome pictures of the wound so added a picture of the day she got her staples out!)

Our cat was not doing very well, they were able to see her within the hour and told us about all the tests they would be doing. They were upfront about pricing, (which was a tad bit expensive but it was an emergency visit). They were honest when telling us which tests would be worth preforming due to the condition of our cat. We had to put her to sleep and they were very understanding about giving us time with her before they did that and gave us options on how to bring her home. We would go back if need be, but we hope that we don't have to!

I have been going to this place for years for my cats. They are good for obvious things but anything that requires any real diagnosis will likely be wrong. This last time was the most expensive for me. I listened to their recommendation, they did surgery and it did nothing for the issue. I brought my cat to a different ER and got the real diagnosis. Mass-RI wasn't even in the ballpark. Literally operated on her for nothing. This is the second critical diagnosis mistake this place has made that another place immediately figured out with less testing. They said it was obvious and are not sure how they missed it. With all the visits, I'm out nearly $10k because of this and my cat is still terminally ill but now I know all the pain she's recently been through was due to incompetent diagnosis. I suggest for internal medical issues to go elsewhere as this place does not have qualified staff to properly take care of your babies. They handle external issues well and they are usually able to accommodate last minute issues.

This is no longer a veterinary ER. This a glorified vet office that is open late. They need to change their name. I had taken my dog here a couple times between 2019 and 2022. I received concerned and compassionate care during those events. That is no longer the norm. If you have an emergency less than three hours before they close, they do not have time for your pet, even with an empty waiting room. Your concerns for your pet, in their opinion, are not valid, and their lack of concern, to them, is acceptable. If you are reading this prior to an emergent issue with your pet, you have the time to make a better decision. Take them somewhere else.

Highly recommend! My cat got her tail stuck in our power recliner (she was hiding under it and we had no idea, she never goes under there). Her tail was definitely broken and needed to be amputated. They got her in as quickly as they could, and took good care of her. They even cleaned her up (she peed herself) and the carrier, too. She is recovering well. They used dissolving sutures so we don't have to put her through the discomfort of removal. And they sent her home with pain meds (she's been doing well without them the past couple days). They made a very scary time less traumatic! It was under $1200, which I understand may sound like a lot to some people. But considering everything they did for her, it's a very fair price. It's all part of the cost of pet ownership! Thank you all for taking good care of Leona 🖤
