Took my elderly cocker here. Receptionist was kind enough to give us a same day appointment. Dr was nice and thorough. Business is owned by a corporation now. Prices are relatively high. We left with a bill over $800.00. No discounts of any kind offered.

Their hours of operation are typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (though some sources list 6:00 PM), with Saturdays and Sundays generally closed for standard appointments. It's important to note that while they handle emergencies during office hours, for after-hours emergencies, pet owners may need to seek external emergency veterinary care.

The environment at Marina Animal Hospital strives to be both professional and welcoming. Located in a "beautiful area in the city of Oxnard approximately one and a half miles from the ocean," the hospital aims to provide a pleasant and comfortable experience. While the specific aesthetics are not extensively detailed in the reviews, the consistent mention of "kind" and "nice" front staff and receptionists, and their ability to "tend to your needs quickly," suggests an efficient and customer-friendly atmosphere from the moment you walk in. The facility is described as "equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and a state of the art computer system," indicating a modern and technologically advanced environment designed for effective diagnostic and treatment processes. The hospital also notes that it is "handicapped equipped with easy access from the street," ensuring accessibility for all clients. This combination of advanced medical infrastructure and a focus on compassionate human interaction contributes to a supportive environment for both pets and their owners, even during stressful visits.

Marina Animal Hospital offers a broad spectrum of veterinary services to ensure the health and longevity of pets. Their diagnostic capabilities are a key strength, including digital radiology (X-rays) for examining internal organs and body systems, ultrasound for non-invasive internal evaluations, and echocardiography for detailed images of a pet's functioning heart. They also offer dog genetic testing to discover a dog's breed. Beyond diagnostics, their services encompass essential preventive care such as comprehensive check-ups and vaccinations. They provide surgical procedures, and dental care is highlighted as an essential part of overall pet health. Other services include pet allergy and dermatology treatments for skin issues, pet health certificates for domestic travel, and a pharmacy for specialty foods and medications, including flea and tick preventatives. The hospital is equipped to handle various medical situations, from wellness exams to medical emergencies during their business hours. Dr. Fahmy, who has been practicing in Oxnard since 1995, brings extensive experience to the practice, which was established over three years ago. Their range of services reflects a commitment to comprehensive pet health management throughout a pet's life.

One of the most distinctive features of Marina Animal Hospital, as highlighted by customer reviews, is the genuine care and personable approach of Dr. Fammi. He is consistently described as a "nice Vet" who "listens and tells you what is best for you and your dog" and "cares so much for each animal he sees." This genuine compassion creates a strong bond of trust with pet owners. Another significant feature that sets them apart is their "free vaccines on Wednesday," which is lauded by customers as a "great cause" and indicates a commitment to community health and accessible pet care. While one review mentioned relatively high prices and no discounts for certain services, another highlights that Dr. Fammi's "prices are very good," suggesting that their pricing structure may vary depending on the service or doctor. The efficient and kind front staff who "tend to your needs quickly" also contribute significantly to the positive client experience, demonstrating a well-coordinated team. The blend of experienced veterinary professionals, a modern facility, and a strong emphasis on compassionate patient interaction contributes to their overall appeal.

From a promotional standpoint, Marina Animal Hospital leverages several key aspects. The offer of "free vaccines on Wednesday" is a powerful promotional tool, attracting new clients and providing an invaluable service to the community. This initiative not only helps address the cost of pet care for some families but also fosters goodwill and demonstrates the hospital's dedication to pet wellness. The glowing testimonials about Dr. Fammi's compassionate approach and the overall kindness of the staff serve as highly effective word-of-mouth marketing, encouraging new clients to visit. The hospital's website also emphasizes its commitment to providing "the best veterinary care available" using "state of the art technologies," which can attract pet owners seeking modern and efficient medical solutions. While one review indicates that the business is now "owned by a corporation," which might lead to higher prices in some instances, the positive feedback about Dr. Fammi's "very good" prices and the complimentary vaccine program can offset this perception. Ultimately, the consistent positive experiences, particularly regarding the staff's kindness and Dr. Fammi's genuine care, are Marina Animal Hospital's strongest promotional assets, reinforcing their reputation as a caring and capable Pet Hospital in Oxnard.

Dr Fammi is such a nice Vet. He listens and tells you what is best for you and your dog. He cares so much for each animal he sees, it is so genuine. His runs free vaccines on Wednesday, such a great cause. His prices are very good. The front staff are very nice and tend to your needs quickly. Have never had a bad experience.

Had Dr Fahmy for years now. Great service, nothing but praise for him. He's currently out, and sadly, when the cat is out, the mice come out and play. The service we received a couple of days back has left us shocked at the professionalism of some of the staff. That being said, it is not a surprise that they have lost a customer.

I had a horrible experience with the Vet at this clinic. The staff was wonderful. There is only one Vet there contrary to what appears in advertising. I had two rescue dogs I brought in from out of the country who had all shots, vaccinations and approval from USDA and he would not take the time to grant us a health certificate, and didn’t care about their plight. I found him to be very insensitive during a time when everyone I previously encountered was so awesome and empathetic to their trauma. I would explore other options if you are considering this clinic. He yelled at me in front of his staff while he was defending his position and continued to talk over me. It was not an experience I would want to repeat in the future.

Since our vet at CIVH retired, my family felt it was time to move to a friendlier, and closer vet. We chose Marina Animal Hospital because it was closer to us. We've taken both our pets here and we couldn't be happier. The staff is professional and friendly. The service is much faster compared to our prior vet, and the veterinarian is a super pleasant gentleman who we can connect with. It's just an overall pleasant environment that I recommend. Thank you, folks! Gunner and Blackie give you four paws up!
