I have dealt with Dr Stokes twice and have been very pleased with his professionalism and service. The first time was Jan 2024 when I had a dog get injured. My regular vet was unavailable and Dr Stokes took care of our dog. Most recently I had a dog get kicked by a horse (broken leg), Dr Stokes helped me decide how to proceed with her treatment. I was considering amputation, which he could do, but we decided for the cost difference to do a repair (which he could not do). He was very kind and helpful. He returned my calls twice and answered considerable questions and concerns.

While specific architectural or interior design details are not widely published, a professional veterinary clinic of this caliber prioritizes cleanliness, safety, and a calm atmosphere. The layout likely includes a welcoming reception area, comfortable waiting spaces, well-equipped examination rooms, and dedicated areas for diagnostics, surgery, and possibly boarding. Le Flore County Veterinary provides a comprehensive range of services, addressing various aspects of pet health from preventative care to advanced medical and surgical interventions. As a "Pet Hospital," their offerings encompass a wide array of treatments and procedures:
- Wellness and Preventative Care: Central to their philosophy is the emphasis on proactive health management. This typically includes routine physical examinations to assess overall health, tailored vaccination programs to protect against common diseases, and parasite prevention strategies (such as heartworm, flea, and tick control). Nutritional counseling is also a key component, guiding pet owners on appropriate diets to support their pet's specific life stage and health needs. Regular check-ups are fundamental in detecting potential health issues early, which can prevent more severe and costly problems down the line.
- Diagnostic Services: To accurately diagnose illnesses and conditions, Le Flore County Veterinary utilizes advanced diagnostic tools. This often includes in-house laboratory capabilities for rapid analysis of blood, urine, and fecal samples, providing quick and accurate results. Imaging services, such as X-rays, are also crucial for visualizing internal structures and identifying issues like fractures, organ abnormalities, or foreign bodies.
- Surgical Procedures: The clinic is equipped to perform various surgical interventions. While the full scope of their surgical expertise is best confirmed by direct contact, common surgical services in a pet hospital environment typically include routine procedures like spaying and neutering, as well as soft tissue surgeries for tumor removal, gastrointestinal foreign body removal, and wound repair. The clinic is staffed by experienced veterinarians, as highlighted by customer reviews, who can assess complex cases and advise on the best course of action, even if specialized external referral is required, demonstrating a patient-centered approach.
- Dental Care: Oral health is a critical aspect of a pet's overall well-being. Le Flore County Veterinary provides comprehensive dental services, which usually involve thorough oral examinations, professional dental cleanings to remove plaque and tartar, and extractions if necessary. Addressing dental issues can prevent pain, infection, and other systemic health problems.
- Urgent and Emergency Care: As a pet hospital, they strive to accommodate urgent medical needs during their business hours. The testimonials provided underscore their responsiveness in critical situations, with pets being seen promptly for injuries or sudden illnesses. While they are not a 24/7 emergency clinic, their ability to provide timely care for urgent cases is invaluable to pet owners in the area.
- Boarding Services: For pet owners needing a safe and comfortable place for their animals while away, Le Flore County Veterinary likely offers boarding facilities. This service provides supervised care, ensuring pets are well-fed, exercised, and monitored for any health concerns during their stay.
- Microchipping: Recognizing the importance of pet identification, microchipping services are a standard offering. A microchip significantly increases the chances of reuniting lost pets with their owners.
- Behavioral Counseling: While not explicitly listed, many comprehensive veterinary clinics provide basic behavioral counseling or referrals for issues like anxiety, aggression, or house-training challenges, helping pets and owners live more harmoniously.
A defining feature of Le Flore County Veterinary is its highly praised team of veterinarians and staff. The provided testimonials highlight the professionalism, compassion, and expertise of Dr. Stokes and Dr. Means. Dr. Means is also celebrated as "amazing, amazing" for her effective treatment that led to significant improvement in a critically unwell pet, even surpassing care received at an emergency clinic. The staff is consistently described as "caring," "professional," and responsive, working together to make the veterinary experience positive and ensure both pets and owners are at ease. This dedication to client communication and patient comfort is a significant differentiator. The clinic’s operational hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (as confirmed by searches), provide consistent accessibility for pet owners.

Apr 02, 2025 · DesireeWe trust Le Flore Co Vet clinic with our 4-legged friends. No matter if you call them or are face to face, they are friendly and kind. They do a thorough job but also don't try to pressure you into extra tests or procedures. Their prices are more than fair. We have used them for everything from emergency to routine care, even end of life, and will continue to do so.
Mar 23, 2025 · Shona Wedgwood-PalmerI see Dr. Stokes, him and his team are absolutely amazing. I haven't ever been somewhere that they truly care about your animals. They have even called to check on my sweet baxter. I had taken him to forwoodson since moving to the area but it seems he was quite overloaded. He said my dog had a hematoma on his chest. A month or so went by and I decided to go to Leflore county vet clinic. Stokes examined it and decided it was cancer and that it had to be removed. My sweet dog is back to himself. Zooming around all day! Thank you Dr. Stokes and team. You guys are amazing!
