At Lakeland Veterinary Hospital, we pride ourselves on creating a stress-free and positive experience for our patients. We understand that visiting a veterinary hospital can sometimes be an anxious time for pets. Therefore, our facility is designed with your pet's comfort in mind. Our waiting area is spacious and calming, and our examination rooms are equipped to ensure a relaxed atmosphere. We strive to minimize any potential stress by handling your pets with gentle care and employing techniques that prioritize their emotional well-being alongside their physical health. We believe a comfortable environment is crucial for accurate diagnoses and effective treatment.
Our comprehensive range of services caters to the diverse needs of your pets. As a full-service Pet Hospital, Lakeland Veterinary Hospital offers a wide array of medical, surgical, and preventative care options. Our core services include routine wellness examinations, which are vital for early detection of potential health issues and maintaining your pet's optimal health. These check-ups often involve thorough physical assessments, vaccinations tailored to your pet's lifestyle and risk factors, parasite prevention (including heartworm, flea, and tick control), and nutritional counseling to ensure your pet is receiving the best diet for their specific needs.
Beyond preventative care, our experienced veterinarians and dedicated support staff are equipped to handle a variety of medical conditions. We offer advanced diagnostic capabilities, including in-house laboratory services for prompt and accurate blood work, urinalysis, and other essential tests. Our hospital also features digital radiography (X-ray) and ultrasound imaging, which allow us to visualize internal structures and aid in the diagnosis of various illnesses and injuries. This technology enables us to gain a deeper understanding of your pet's condition and develop targeted treatment plans.
For pets requiring surgical intervention, Lakeland Veterinary Hospital provides a state-of-the-art surgical suite. Our skilled veterinarians are proficient in performing a wide range of surgical procedures, from routine spays and neuters to more complex soft tissue surgeries. We adhere to the highest standards of surgical safety, utilizing modern anesthetic protocols and continuous patient monitoring to ensure your pet's well-being throughout the entire procedure and recovery process. Pain management is a crucial aspect of our surgical care, and we take every measure to keep your pet comfortable before, during, and after surgery.
Dental health is an often-overlooked but essential component of your pet's overall well-being. Lakeland Veterinary Hospital offers comprehensive dental care services, including routine dental cleanings, polishing, and extractions when necessary. We educate pet owners on the importance of at-home dental care to help prevent periodontal disease, which can lead to other systemic health issues if left untreated. Our team can provide guidance on proper brushing techniques and recommend dental hygiene products for your pet.
In addition to our routine and surgical services, we also provide care for sick or injured pets. Our team is experienced in diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions, and we are equipped to handle many emergency situations during our regular business hours. While we may not be a 24-hour emergency facility, we are committed to providing prompt and compassionate care when your pet needs it most. We will thoroughly assess your pet's condition and develop an appropriate treatment plan to address their immediate needs.
Lakeland Veterinary Hospital understands that senior pets have unique health requirements. As pets age, they may be more susceptible to certain medical conditions. We offer specialized senior pet care programs that focus on maintaining their quality of life, managing age-related illnesses, and providing comfort and support in their golden years. We can help you navigate the specific needs of your senior pet, including pain management, nutritional adjustments, and screening for common geriatric conditions.
Similarly, we are dedicated to providing a healthy start for young pets. Our puppy and kitten care programs include comprehensive physical examinations, vaccinations according to recommended schedules, parasite control, nutritional guidance, and behavioral counseling to help your new companion integrate seamlessly into your family. We believe that early intervention and education are key to ensuring a long and healthy life for your young pet.

Oct 22, 2024 路 Pat TreffHindsight is 20/20. We had our puppy fixed here and my new vet says it's "old school" to send a dog home with zero pain meds after this type of procedure. I saw the difference after a recent surgery my dog had with a different vet who did give us pain killers and it hit me like a ton of bricks. My dog was scarred, probably in shock and wouldn't eat for 24 hours after being fixed. Looks of betrayal and sadness, like why did I punish them? This is my first dog and when I picked them up, they looked so distressed that I nearly passed out. I didn't think to ask for pain killers, I trusted that this vet would do what was best for my baby and have my back as a fur-parent. Pain meds were never mentioned or offered. Never trusting them again, I brought home a completely different dog after EMERGENCY surgery because the other clinic I used knew how to consider the dog's experience and sent them home sane, healthier and happy. I know for a fact that my dog has PTSD regarding all vet offices, hopefully the new office will eventually overwrite that first terrible experience from their memory. I wouldn't bring any pet back to Lakeland, just to be honest.
