While they did a fine job spaying my girl dog I would never trust this place again with any dog that I felt had a serious issue. I took my boy in for rapid weight loss and disinterest in eating and after all the testing they did could only scratch their heads and say their best guess was a bacteria infection, and when I called that the meds weren’t working and I saw no improvement just told me to wait it out and that he’d probably feel better once I finished the meds. I also pointed out a lump that was growing on his head and was told “I’m not even gonna worry about that right now” well that non worry was an abscess that grew at incredible speed and burst before I could take him to his new vet. The vet I took him to not long after due to lack of improvement did a simple body exam and immediately felt a large lump in his abdomen that within 10 minutes confirmed was a large cancerous tumor that had been crushing his organs. It easily was the size of a softball If not larger. We went to an oncologist after that who were wonderful but unfortunately because so long had passed without addressing the tumor it spread to his lungs and he had to be put to sleep. Had it not spread to his lungs they believed it could have been fully removed and he’d have more time with me. But now I’ll forever wonder if my original vet had been slightly more diligent in his body exam if it could have been caught before it had a chance to spread. Guess I’ll never know now but I’ll look at my boys urn and know I tried everything to save him. He was only 7.

We found Lake Mary Vet Clinic after multiple recommendations on Next Door App. We are so thankful to have found this veterinary office and couldn't be happier with them. We previously tried 3 other vets offices in Sanford while searching for a forever Vet for our senior dog and new Beagle puppy. The other vets offices we tried were not only extremely expensive but also tried to sell us things that were clearly unnecessary. At each of them they tried selling their monthly service as well as over priced vitamins. We felt we were at a used car dealership. Our first visit to Lake Mary Vet, they were extremely honest which hurts with an old dog but were very fair. They didn't make promises or try to sell over priced garbage. One vet clinic on Orange Blvd in Sanford wanted $800-$1200 to spay our 16lb beagle puppy. I guess there was a reason the place was empty and we were the only ones there for over an hour. When our senior dog need to be put down Lake Mary Vet came to the house and was extremely patient and kind while we cried our eyes out. They were absolutely amazing and allowed us to hold our baby throughout the entire process. A few weeks later we picked up a beautiful wooden memorial. Lake Mary Vets prices are extremely reasonable. Monthly Simparica Trio is about $26. It was less then $300 to spay our puppy (not including blood work). We've never had an issue making an appointment. We are so thankful to have found this vet office. Another random treat, while sitting in the waiting room waiting to get called in, I heard a voice that I clearly recognized from years of watching the NBA. Who was it? Stan Van Gundy with his beautiful dogs. I didn't want to seem over eager and I definitely didn't want to interrupt him but I was extremely giddy.

So yesterday dec.19 I had to bring my 120lb. Pit to the vet because he started acting weird.since we have been patients their for a couple yrs I figured the vet would give me something I could do him nope he took his temp and that was it. So I'm up all night with my dog not knowing how or what to do. My boy probably won't make past today. With that said I won't be bringing my new puppy to meet you. I need to feel you care about me and my best friend and I dont.

An individual vet is like anyone else, their skill level and bedside manner vary. First, I would never bring my cat anywhere else to have him neutered. They were done before I evem finished up at a grocery store run. Unlike other vets, I had an option to have him kept over night. I opted not to do that, but the option is important. The vet actually got on the phone with me to assess an urgent situation. Anything specialty, I might start with a general vet, but also know it could change to a needing a specialist. My fav thing about this vet is that I know they would not taunt my cat if I had to leave him and it is like a community practice. It is weird that people put reviews about cheaper options or their subjective personal opinions on how they size up certain staff. If a rating isn't discussing a specific experience, wonder about that rating.
