My elderly neighbor had been concerned her cat was sick. She had asked me the weekend before we visited Lafayette Animal Clinic to take her to East Ridge Animal Clinic. I did and in my opinion, overcharged her for the vet to walk in the room look down the cat's throat, and then say the cat needed a shot for nausea. He then said the cat probably needed antibiotics x-rays and blood work. My neighbor I found out had also taken her cat to this same clinic the weekend before. The cat's symptoms were not eating well and throwing up on occasion. I told the vet my elderly neighbor was on a very small fixed income of $900 a month. I knew something was off when he then asked my neighbor how much money she had to pay. And she told him she had $156 with her. The vet tech assistant came back in and said it would be $128 for the shot for nausea the office visit was $78. A couple days later my neighbor was again concerned about her cat. I told her we should find somewhere else to take him. I posted on the local community FB page and someone told me to contact Perry's Promise so I did. I was told I could take my neighbor and her cat to Lafayette Animal Clinic and that Perry's Promise would pay for her cat's treatment. The office staff there is very caring, understanding, and compassionate. They took very good care of her cat and eased her fears. The cat is much better now. I want to give a big shout-out to Perry's Promise for helping her and Tiger. If you ever think about donating to a good cause Perry's Promise is that good cause. Thank you again

On 2/25/2022 I had taken my precious baby in to have her mats shaved. I was sure to tell the Vet tech that she had hyperthyroidism. They had advised me not to give her food or water after midnight as they might have to sedate her. The Vet tech advised that if they were to sedate her, they would let me know. As the day progressed, I heard nothing until around 3:30. The Vet tech said, she's okay and waking up now. When picked up, there was no conversation other than being told that she had to have stitches for a small wound that was already there under the mats. Upon getting her home she was sluggish and she tried her best to be her loving self. The next morning everything had changed. Mocha was laying around and I thought that she was just still coming out of the anesthesia. Later that afternoon it was apparent that she was in serious distress. Upon taking her to the Chattanooga Emergency we were advised that she had a heart murmur-level 4. Her body was shutting down and she had suffered a stroke. Now, no one from Lafayette Animal Clinic had advised me of a heart murmur at this point. Chattanooga advised the anesthesia was too much for her. Upon talking to the Vet the following Monday @ LAC he informed me that yes, he had noted a slight heart murmur and had only sedated her to stitch the wound. Yet..I wasn't advised about this heart murmur until it was too late. I advised the Vet that she was gone Saturday night...there was nothing we could do. While he stated that he was sorry this happened, there was no explanation as to why no one told me about her condition. He stated there was a lot of miscommunication that day about Mocha. I contacted her regular Vet and told them she'd passed. They sent me a sympathy card immediately. While LAC did nothing... I paid $125.00 to LAC and $535.00 to emergency center in Chattanooga and no longer have my precious girl.

I had an emergency with my dog. I was able to get in the same day I called. I had to have my buddy Spud put to sleep. What was so amazing was the care and kindness and attention they all gave and Dr Collins is so great. He really knows his stuff. And has a great bed side manner. So very kind . I will go back to this animal clinic. Thank you all. I even got a sympathy card from them. So very sweet. I will be going back to this animal clinic. Thank you all so much. It's been hard this week and that card really helped. Thanks again.
