For emergency pet surgery, I would highly recommend knoxville pet emergency clinic. We have a big hound mix and he ate a rock and had to have it removed. They were wonderful working with me to get him in the same night and kept me up to date with his progress. They were very personable and friendly to talk to. Thank you all for saving our family pup!

Welcome to Knoxville Pet Emergency Clinic
Knoxville Pet Emergency Clinic, located at 1819 Ailor Ave, Knoxville, TN 37921, USA, is a specialized "Pet Hospital" dedicated to providing emergency and critical veterinary care. As its name clearly indicates, this facility is designed to address urgent and unforeseen medical crises in pets, offering vital support when primary veterinary clinics are closed or for situations requiring immediate intervention. It serves as a crucial resource for pet owners in the Knoxville area, ensuring that beloved animal companions receive timely and life-saving care during emergencies.
The environment at Knoxville Pet Emergency Clinic, while inherently dealing with stressful emergency situations, is portrayed by client testimonials as professional, compassionate, and supportive. Despite the urgency and high-stakes nature of the services provided, the staff is described as "wonderful working with me," "very personable and friendly to talk to," and "kind hearted lovers of animals." This indicates that the clinic strives to create an atmosphere where pet owners feel heard, supported, and reassured during extremely difficult times.
The fact that they were able to get a "big hound mix" in "the same night" for emergency surgery suggests an efficient and responsive intake process, crucial in emergency settings. Furthermore, the practice of keeping clients "up to date with his progress" demonstrates a commitment to transparent and continuous communication, alleviating anxiety for owners. The profound gratitude expressed by clients, such as "Thank you all from the bottom of mine and my husbands hearts," underscores the deeply empathetic and humane approach taken by the clinic's staff. This holistic care, combining expert medical intervention with emotional support, contributes significantly to a positive environment even under challenging circumstances.
As an emergency veterinary clinic, Knoxville Pet Emergency Clinic offers a focused range of services tailored to acute, critical, and time-sensitive conditions. Their capabilities extend to complex medical and surgical interventions that are often beyond the scope of a general practice vet, particularly after hours. Based on the provided reviews, their core services prominently include:
-
Emergency Surgical Procedures: The reviews highlight the clinic's proficiency in performing crucial emergency surgeries. One client explicitly recommends them for "emergency pet surgery" after their "big hound mix" successfully had a rock removed. Another describes a life-saving C-section for a Yorkie with "three breached pups inside her." These testimonials unequivocally demonstrate their expertise in complex, time-critical surgical interventions.
-
Critical Care and Stabilization: For pets in life-threatening situations, the clinic provides immediate stabilization and critical care. This involves rapid assessment, pain management, fluid therapy, and continuous monitoring to address conditions such as severe injuries, acute illnesses, or complications during birth.
-
Advanced Diagnostics for Emergencies: To facilitate quick and accurate diagnoses in urgent situations, it is highly probable that the clinic is equipped with advanced diagnostic tools. This typically includes in-house laboratory testing (e.g., blood work, urinalysis) for rapid results, and imaging technologies like X-rays, crucial for identifying foreign bodies (like the rock) or assessing the position of fetuses (as in the C-section case).
-
Compassionate and Accessible Care for Complex Cases: A particularly distinctive service feature, as evidenced by the Yorkie's C-section, is their willingness to provide critical care even when financial constraints are a significant barrier. The client was "turned away" from another clinic due to cost but found the Knoxville Pet Emergency Clinic willing to "care for her and saved her and my babies lives" for "much less $." This indicates a commitment to making life-saving care accessible, showcasing a service model that prioritizes animal welfare even in challenging financial circumstances.
-
Post-Operative and Hospitalization Care: For pets recovering from surgery or requiring intensive medical management, the clinic provides ongoing hospitalization, monitoring, and supportive care to ensure a smooth recovery.
It is important for users to understand that as an emergency clinic, their services are specifically for urgent and critical conditions, and they typically do not provide routine veterinary services like vaccinations or wellness exams. They serve as a crucial complement to primary care veterinarians.
Knoxville Pet Emergency Clinic possesses several key features that set it apart, especially in the demanding field of emergency veterinary medicine:
-
Exceptional Surgical Expertise: The success stories of removing a rock from a large dog and performing a life-saving C-section on a Yorkie demonstrate a high level of surgical skill and confidence in handling complex and high-risk procedures. This is a primary differentiator for an emergency clinic.
-
Profound Compassion and Animal Welfare Focus: The staff's description as "kind hearted lovers of animals" and their willingness to work with clients facing financial difficulties (as in the C-section case) highlights a deep commitment to animal welfare above purely financial considerations. This empathy is a cornerstone of their service.
-
Responsive and Timely Care: The ability to accommodate an emergency surgery "the same night" speaks to their operational efficiency and readiness to respond immediately to critical situations, which is paramount for an emergency facility.
-
Excellent Communication: Keeping owners "up to date with his progress" and being "very personable and friendly to talk to" ensures that clients feel informed and supported throughout their pet's emergency treatment, a crucial aspect during stressful times.
-
Cost-Conscious Approach to Critical Care: The clinic's willingness to perform life-saving procedures for "much less $" than another facility suggests a commitment to making critical care more accessible, potentially offering various options or payment plans to help owners. This makes them a viable option for a wider range of pet owners in distress.
The most powerful promotional aspects for Knoxville Pet Emergency Clinic are rooted in its direct success stories and the heartfelt testimonials from grateful clients who experienced life-saving outcomes for their pets.
-
"Life-Saving" Narratives: The direct accounts of saving a pup from a foreign body and saving both a mother Yorkie and her puppies during a difficult birth are incredibly compelling. These real-life stories serve as the strongest endorsement, showcasing their capabilities in critical situations. Any promotional material could prominently feature these types of testimonials.
-
Emphasis on Emergency Surgical Excellence: Explicitly promoting their expertise in emergency surgery (e.g., "Highly recommended for emergency pet surgery") would draw in pet owners in critical need of such services.
-
Compassionate and Accessible Care: Highlighting their "kind hearted" staff and their willingness to work with clients on financial constraints (as evidenced by the C-section review) can attract pet owners who value both high-quality care and a compassionate, understanding approach to emergency veterinary costs.
-
Responsive and Communicative Service: Advertising their commitment to keeping owners informed and their friendly, personable communication style would reassure potential clients who are anxious during emergencies.

Apr 22, 2025 · Hannah ForresterI went here from another emergency vet place that turned me away cause I couldn’t afford $6500.00 to do a C-section on my Yorkie girl Roxie that had three breached pups inside her The women at Knox pet emergency took her and cared for her and saved her and my babies lives !!!! So grateful they saved their lives for much less $ Thank you all from the bottom of mine and my husbands hearts 💕…! Love you all kind hearted lovers of animals
May 22, 2025 · Sabrina McKinneyThese people are amazing. They gave great care to my dog in his final day. They were very sympathetic and kind. You can see the passion in the staff. They made a very hard process much easier. I'm forever thankful to them.
Apr 23, 2025 · Seth CassadyI think they did a good job handling my pet. I went here once when my baby was just months old because after her first shots and dewormer she passed an ABNORMALLY large amount of worms for a puppy. So much that it didn't look like worms we thought her organs were coming out as she tried to poop. It obviously scared our puppy and scares us to so we rushed her to the closest animal hospital. They checked her out and explained tho an alarming amount she should be fine and that from the size and quantity the mother had worms and it had penetrated the uterine wall and got to the pup. They Had never seen that amount come out of a puppy but they made sure was okay. So we decided to bring her back 4 years later this past friday when she was given a pork femur bone from the pet store and consumed the entire thing in 45 minutes. She had large sharp fragments of bone in her stomach that could puncture her intestines. They worked with my budget and with me to save my dog. I couldn't afford surgery there but my vet opened in the morning. They gave her medical treatment to help hold her over until I could get to my vet for surgery when they opened. I will continue taking and suggesting animals here in emergencies outside of normal vet hours. They are so kind, professional and understanding. They are expensive but will give you the best advice even if it's not spending money with them They genuinely care about their fur babies that come in needing help and they've helped me twice now when I've come in with my baby in tears. I'm forever grateful and they have no idea the impact they have on people. ❤️
