Kierland Animal Clinic will always mean the world to me. I deeply regret ever taking my beloved and cherished innocent angel, Gertie, to another veterinarian and just one day before her official adoption after fostering her for 18 months (she was labeled hospice with the rescue, so she was to be with us for the rest of her life, she became family right away and we always wanted to make it official, just had to wait…and unfortunately she wasn’t adopted in time to also save her, I did not imagine she would not be protected and I would not be taking her home to tuck her in…). Gertie would be alive today had I gone to Kierland Animal Clinic, where she was always loved, valued, treated with compassion and respect and adoration. Velvet gloves. Hindsight… They always listened to me and communicated effectively and they treated Gertie like their own, never judging her for her disability (which was beautiful and perfect), she was special needs, but only special, strong, patient and so smart! Brightest light and presence. I will forever question the events of that day…. I wasn’t thinking it would be her last. My trust was misplaced in several areas. Gertie did not know a loving calm gentle environment the last 4 hours of her life on July 3 (at the emergency vet). They did not have her best interest at heart and were not thorough, could have cared less... (so much to say, it was a nightmare). That will play on a loop in my head for my unforeseeable future. My heart is completely shattered, my pain is deep, it’s been difficult to breathe. I miss my girl, my little sunshine. She was and is my heart, my soul and my love. I write this with the deepest gratitude for Kierland Animal Clinic and their unmatched compassion. They pause, they see and they love. They care. I don’t want others to suffer like sweet Gertie did in the end. Or to endure the trauma that I now live with. Please make sure that when you choose your Veterinarian for your babies that it’s one with a heart. Choose Kierland. Gertie always went in their door with a calm and confident demeanor and that speaks volumes to me about the energy at Kierland. She trusted them. We recently visited the vet for a routine teeth cleaning ($4-600) and were shocked by the cost ($1400) and the deceptive way it was handled. The vet didn’t provide a quote beforehand and baited my wife into agreeing to numerous optional treatments without fully explaining them. Since we had already arranged our day off for the procedure, we felt we had no choice but to proceed. After the cleaning, I called to question the unexpected charges for X-rays and bloodwork, only to be told they were optional. It became clear that these additional fees were intentionally slipped in, hoping we wouldn’t notice. It felt more like dealing with a shady mechanic than a trusted veterinarian. When I raised these concerns with the treatment plan coordinator, I asked for a discounted rate, explaining that the charges were unreasonable—our last cleaning had only cost $600. She claimed she couldn’t do anything because the charge had already gone through. I then suggested voiding the charge and resubmitting it for a lower amount. Her excuse shifted to saying we had agreed to the charges beforehand, which was completely untrue given the way the options were presented and essentially hidden. This wasn’t about being unable to help; it was simply that they didn’t want to and preferred to exploit their customers. I informed her that I’d be filing a formal complaint with the Arizona State Veterinary Medical Board and submitting a review. She simply said, “Okay,” and seemed completely unconcerned. This was a very interesting way of handling things, especially considering how kind and level-headed I was while speaking with her. I think she assumed these were idle words, but I was—and am—moving forward with both. This experience has made it clear that this clinic prioritizes profits over honest service. I will not be returning with my dogs for more than standard check-ins and cannot recommend this place to anyone. Edit: In response to the owner’s reply: The business owner’s response claims that we were provided a quote in advance, which is entirely false. The only quote we received was at drop-off, a time when declining services is highly impractical. Additionally, the services were presented as mandatory rather than optional. When I schedule a teeth cleaning, my expectation is straightforward—that my dog’s teeth will be cleaned. If I wanted additional services, I would have specifically requested or scheduled them. The reply also falsely suggests that I expected the teeth cleaning to cost the same as it did several years ago. This is completely untrue. I clearly stated that while I didn’t expect the cost to remain unchanged, a 120% increase from a few years ago is excessive. No aspect of today’s economy justifies such an increase—except, apparently, at this veterinarian’s office. They employ deceptive tactics, recommending unnecessary services and implying they are required at the least convenient time for the client. Their response only reinforces my dissatisfaction with how they conduct their business.

Hands down the best experience I have ever had with an animal clinic. The front staff was amazing,! They were friendly,kind and seemed really caring. The vet was super knowledgeable,friendly and showed lots of love and affectionate to our Kitty Rosebud!

The staff at this clinic are caring, compassionate and patient. I heard from a former foster that this clinic treats the dogs for AZ Small Dogs, which made me even more compelled in choosing them due to them commonly working with tiny dogs. Both my dogs (chihuahuas) had their dental cleanings here and were well taken care of. I think their prices are very competitive in comparison to other vet clinics I got dental cleaning prices for.

THE BEST experience as a brand new pet parent. Front desk was helpful. Dr. Gibson was amazing. Welcoming, friendly and answered all of my questions. You can tell she loves what she does for a living. Kierland Animal Clinic has gained a new forever client! Thank you all for making Rocco feel comfortable and cared for.
