We wouldn’t trust our kitties to anyone else. When it comes to compassionate care we never have to worry. We’ve been going to KCH since 2012. The office is clean and friendly and the vet staff are top notch. Also is you have an opportunity to chat with Brittani and Lisa you’ll know why we love it here. Everyone is like family. Everyone has their own pets and our kitties are loved on like their pets.

Feb 26, 2025 · Jeri DennisYOU KILLED MY CAT From Regular Check to losing my daughter. brought my beloved cat, Lulu, to the Kalamazoo Cat Hospital for what I believed was a simple check-up due to some shortness of breath. Lulu was my everything—more than just a pet. She was like my daughter. What should have been a routine visit turned into an absolute nightmare, and I am heartbroken. The staff insisted on using sleeping gas to calm Lulu down, despite my concerns. I trusted their professional judgment, but I now believe they mishandled the procedure. Lulu struggled to wake up, and when she finally did, she couldn’t breathe properly. She was drowning right in front of me, helpless on the surface. Instead of addressing their mistake or finding a solution, later they asked me to send her to a VCR and I needed to pay the money while she was drowning and suddenly they asked to put her down. How did a routine visit escalate into this? The entire process felt rushed and dismissive. To make matters worse, the doctor who administered the sleeping gas and oversaw Lulu’s euthanasia left for a holiday right after putting her down. That level of insensitivity is unforgivable. This is the picture of Lulu before the hospital and after. I am devastated, and I deeply regret ever bringing Lulu here. This was not just negligence—it was a betrayal of trust.
Jan 01, 2025 · Sungpil MoonWe first used KCH in an emergency-type situation when our dear Leo was losing weight and losing hair. He was very aggressive at the time and the doctor/assistants seemed very hesitant to attempt to even try and calm him or hold him. I was able to hold him enough so that they could look at him to determine he had fleas and assumed he was allergic to them causing the loss of weight and hair. After an enormous bill, we were sent home with an appointment to return in a week for another treatment, and another enormous bill. They gave us a costly medicine to give him prior to the second appointment, but it didn't seem to help much and he was still quite aggressive. Once again, a different doctor this time, there was no willingness to try and calm him down. I would have thought being a specialty office for cats that they would have the appropriate techniques to handle these types of situations. They acted afraid of him, so it was up to me and my granddaughter to handle him, while they attempted to examine him, all the while leaving him in his crate and smothering him so that he couldn't lash out. Totally unacceptable and traumatic for us! This week, Mr. Leo, began rapidly deteriorating, he had stopped eating, was losing hair and weight. He could hardly walk and support himself on his front legs. My daughter took him in to KCH. They took one look at him and said it was fleas again, even though he was being treated for fleas and was also wearing a flea collar. They gave him a topical ointment, sent us home with another outrageous bill and told us to come back in a few days. Overnight, Leo worsened and today, we put him to rest after consulting with a family member who happened to be a veterinary technician that unfortunately lives out of state. These doctors and assistants at KCH have no compassion whatsoever. They could not take the time to consult with my daughter about his condition. I feel that they had looked at his chart and the issues he had before and determined ahead of time the diagnosis and that they didn't want to deal with it. This is the hardest decision in the life of a pet owner. We are all devastated! Leo was an older cat, had a good life and loved his humans very much... as much as we loved him! The staff at KCH have a total lack of empathy. We may not have utilized their services for Leo's entire life, but they still should have treated him as though we did. But instead, it was just the opposite. I'm happy that there are some good reviews here, but I, for one, will NEVER recommend this facility to anyone that has a beloved cat, like our Leo! Shame on you all!! Oh, and by the way, please cancel our appointment for tomorrow, February 21, as Leo is now in the best care ever!
Feb 20, 2025 · Vicki MatunasI am so pleased with our experience with the Kalamazoo Cat Hospital. They are the best vet ever. Our kitties are a bit spicy and they offer comfort care and a calm atmosphere for them and make us all feel at ease. I know the cats are receiving the best, kindest, and most empathetic care available in the area. Today one of my babies had a tooth extraction. We knew he was in good hands and offered great communication during the process. Thank you KCH!! :)
