When searching for an emergency vet Islip Animal Hospital came up, even though they informed us they aren’t an emergency vet they took our puppy in quickly to review her allergic reaction. Staff was kind & super helpful in explaining her aftercare instructions.

On 5/17/24 I took my Chihuahua in gypsy Tinker Bell my baby for 13 years. I’ve gone to Islip animal Hospital quite a few times. (years) Gypsy usually stays inside she really never goes outside however, my complex probably would inquire me getting the rabies vaccination she was due for she also had injectable anti-inflammatory I had a bad feeling taking her there on Friday. I don’t know why but she was fine. sitting up, looking around and a little bed in the car They took her in the back and they gave her her injections. She looked terrible coming out. They had her in their arms. They took her in the back and because she is a little biter they put a muzzle on her. I did ask the vet before they were going to give her all the shots is it too much for her and the vet said no When I got home, she started to eat, and then she fell asleep and that night she went over to her little water and her bed and she collapsed. She went into a Breathing Issue I kept a comfortable all night and took her Saturday morning as soon as they opened up, I was in the front of the vets office waiting for the vet to arrive. They did open the doors early for me to get her in. They took her in the back, not too long after that into the room, she was flat and she was a chubby little Chihuahua and they told me it was her heart. I said if it was her heart , why would you give her those shots then she said you should’ve taken more test that totally didn’t make any sense I was devastated. I was in shock. There’s my baby dead in front of me . The vet said she put a big oxygen mask on her and that my dog bit her I don’t know what happens in the back room, but my little dog that got me through so much losing my husband, my grandson my mother passed away and a day before that before her shot she was fine barking in the car at the window wipers when I clean my window A 13 years old she’s an inside dog. She didn’t need the rabies shot plus the injectable inflammatory together How can a vet say it was her heart if That was her heart. How does she know? Then you wouldn’t proceeded to give her any shots until I had her tested for any hard problem Then in the office, the Vet asked me what do you want to do have a cremated she’ll be with the other dogs And she said something like the prices are up in the front one of the tech So kindly paid for her cremation $300 It was the kindest thing that she did and she knew gypsy Tinker Bell. She always help me or carry her inside because she was a little biter, but the cutest little thing she passed away the day after she received the shots May 18, 2024. What’s the worst day of my life? I lost my little baby my Chihuahua 13 years She was too old to get the shots I knew something was wrong when they brought her out she looked a wreck and there’s no cameras in the back so I can’t do nothing about it I don’t know what happened in the back when they gave her those injections I can’t tell anyone what to do, but be very careful where you go to bring your animal They know what happened in the back And how did she pass away so fast? I should’ve been with her when she passed away I miss my little Chihuahua waiting for me to come home, sniffing in the little bags that I would bring home, comforting me with my losses Nobody could comfort me with my loss but her The feeling I had that Friday going to the vets office I should’ve turned around and went home Poor little thing what she went through My heart is just broken💔💘 I don’t know if I would get another dog. I’m still mourning for her. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t get another little dog, but the price of a breed like her I couldn’t afford It is very difficult to go out and get another little animal when you’re heart it’s just totally broken🥲 I’d like to know what happened in the back room what they really did for her nothing she suffered😔 I miss her every day her little 😘 kisses Snuggling under her blankets after I would wash them, she loved her blankets I’m so sorry gypsy Tinker Bell you went through so much there. I’m so sorry. I miss you so much. 😪

Cant say enough about this place. They r gentle and kind and compassionate. Doc has called to reach out to me about my cat more than once. Very thorough and professional and the fact that he calls so often to ask about her and to share his results and thoughts is amazing. U do not get that much anymore from any business. I highly recommend.

Great Veterinary care. I’ve been using them for over 20 years. Two dachshunds in heaven and now with Sophie, lovely rescue. The entire staff is excellent. They are friendly, helpful and compassionate. They get my full endorsement.
