All I can say is OMG! The other reviewer, Daisy, wrote my story! In other words the same exact thing happened to me! Wanted me to see a specialist for a supposed heart murmur! I took my cat for another opinion today. The vet said his heart sounds beautiful and further pointed out his blood work test for heart issues was perfect with no problems detected. I literally burst into tears as I was so worried about him. This doctor at Island Rescue has scam written all over her face. I should have known when she barely would answer any of my questions and spoke down to me. I wish this place would get investigated. How dare they play on our love for our pets. Karma’s gonna getcha!

Apr 23, 2025 · JBrought my cat here to get fixed . And they told me she had a heart murmur . That they would send us to a heart specialist recommended by them to make sure she is OK to go on for surgery which the heart specialist would charge an additional 800 just to walk in. They also told me, even though she’s indoor cat, she needs flea medication bunch of other stuff that really only outside cats should be recommended. Took her to another spot for another opinion and they said she’s totally fine has no heart murmur that that’s unnecessary so they basically lied and overcharged us . Do not bring your animals here even if you’re desperate. Like most vets all This place cares about is money!!! Don’t say I didn’t warn you!!! I don’t even know how they have some good reviews …they are super over priced for how poorly they know .

My dog was seen, we had to actually call to get the results and when we brought her back again yesterday she walked in fine by the time we got home she couldnt even stand. We thought it was because of the medicine the doctor gave her but today now my dog is passed. I believe the doctor knew she wasnt going to make it through the night but did not say, instead she gave her an iv and a anti nausea medicine. I do not recommend this place they just want your money. Well now they have my money and i lost my dog of 10 years. They should have directed us directly to a animal hospital instead of telling us if she gets worse to take her there or call them. The end result seems all they wanted was my money, they knew she wad a severe case and should of been seen. They dont care about your animal and it shows
Mar 26, 2025 · Theresa LadueTook my 7 month old cat for spaying surgery, I was nervous. Went well. This is the 3rd day after surgery...she is doing fine. Not experiencing any pain, which I was worried about. They gave me instructions to take home. I am fine with the outcome. The only thing I was surprised that I did not get a call from them to see how she is. Other than that I would recommend and the cost was very reasonable and did not have to wait months for appointment.
Feb 07, 2025 · Michelle DoerrerI wanted to switch to a vet closet to home and had heard good things about Island Rescue and thought i would give it a try. Well what a huge mistake. From the moment I walked through the front door to getting seen by the doctor everyone was so rude. So rude in fact that my puppy who is 9 months old was on a leash in the waiting room for 2 hours (with an appt) and getting a little crazy that the office manager told us to step outside bc he was disruptive. I thought I was overreacting until another customer came out and told me it was rude. I let it go and figured I would give them another try bc even if they do not have great bedside manner but good vet care I would just suck it up. Well I went again for a follow up and bloodwork for a neuter was told the bloodwork is good for one month and they will call me with results and if everything ok we can schedule. Ok go to front desk to pay the bill and was rudely told to go sit down they’ll call me when bill is ready. I waited so long my daughter texted to see if everything was ok. I finally get to check out and she says do you want to schedule neuter and I ask I thought I had to wait to get blood results back and they said no you can schedule. Ok then let’s schedule. She then tells me she has Jan 7 avail and I ask about bloodwork only being good for one month? The manager tells me they will extend. Ok that’s nice so I ask if I can take the 8th bc the 7th is not good with my work schedule. The girl tells me basically without looking at her computer no that’s all I have. Not gonna lie now I’m getting annoyed bc they continue to be so rude. So I tell her that she’s very rude and the manager butts in to say how is she rude she offered you the first avail and I said bc I asked what about another date and without looking she told me no. The manger argues with me that she was not rude so I ask again what if I can’t make that day then he just doesn’t get neutered? She said we can look another day that week and I said that’s all I was asking her to do you heard me. The manager rudely says actually I wasn’t listening and I said clearly you were bc you butted in more than once. I then got angry used a few cuss words told them again how rude they were so the manager asked why do you bother to come here and I said I will not be going back. Needless to say I’ll be returning to my original vet. Lesson learned!
