Nov 13, 2024 · Kristi RockYesterday was very difficult because my Cat Millie was in so much pain. I looked at her and she look at me. As if saying I'm ready to leave this world. The wonderful Doctor agreed. My heart hurts but she is in a better place. Thanks to the nurse who was also gentle with me and my baby. They have my business now for life. I still have 5 cats. Thank you to all the staff for giving me the time to say goodbye. Much appreciated.
Jan 15, 2025 · gay bradleyThey saved my cat Ashton's life for a fraction of the cost of other local emergency vets. You can tell they truly care.
Feb 27, 2025 · Natalie CucciThis is the second time that they have seen my pet at a short notice. My regular vet has inconvenient hours and when your fur baby is sick, you want them to be seen asap. Everyone there is so nice and helpful and they don’t charge an arm and a leg. I’m thinking about making this our permanent vet. Very pleased again for their service and flexibility.
Jan 07, 2025 · Virginia KitchensThe practitioners at Hudspeth Animal Hospital should be ashamed of themselves. Our experience with them has been horrible. Our sweet kitten has had painful peeling scabs on her body. We’ve taken her to Hudspeth multiple times for these, and they refuse to actually run tests to determine what is causing these scabs. They’ve said they don’t know what is causing it (if it’s mites, bacterial, or fungal), yet they refuse to actually look at it the peeled off scab under a microscope to determine the cause and treat accordingly. The first time we brought her in for this, we were told they would do this if it kept returning, and they’ve walked back on that. 🚩 We’ve literally begged for them to do this and said we will pay whatever the cost is, and they flat out refuse to and give an antibiotic shot, while simultaneously admitting that they don’t know exactly what is causing this! Why would a vet keep giving antibiotic shots that aren’t working and also refuse to do what’s necessary to determine what would work? Obviously it would be more profitable for them to keep bringing her in and charging for office visits and antibiotic shots vs. just figuring out what’s wrong and treating it.. Clearly they value profits over the well being of the animals that come through there. Not to mention, I made a Facebook post to warn those in town about the negligence and malpractice at Hudspeth and over 15 people I know commented about a similar experience. Some of my friends’ animals died because of Hudspeth.. Truly a disgusting, shady way to operate a vet clinic. Seriously, PLEASE avoid bringing your pets to Hudspeth!
Dec 28, 2024 · Elizabeth JonesNever, ever can what happened tonight ever happen again, to anyone. Typically, a person calls an ER vet because of an urgent situation. I have seen this doctor many times before during “after hours”when my vet is closed - he’s been knowledgeable and helpful. My 12 yr old cat has been struggling with an upper respiratory infection and I knew she needed fluids at least to get through the weekend but really wanted her to see the doctor. I do not know what I did wrong but the person who answered the phone and the other person who came to the door were angry, combative, and condescending in ways I was not prepared for since this is a medical practice. The receptionist had the most STANK possible attitude the “nurse” YELLED at me in the waiting room. I asked ONE thing with respect and courtesy - I would like to speak with the doctor before you take her back without me. And I only asked this because the angry, oddly emotional and defensive 14-yr-old child behavior of these 2 people was unacceptable and neither of them would be with my girl unsupervised. I burst into tears and just honestly said….i don’t know what’s going on here guys….you’re an emergency vet, I came here begging for help….that was met with silence. I did see the doctor, and I was satisfied with his recommendations for the most part, and I don’t think I could have been more grateful and courteous but this “nurse” person was unbearable to be around. I shut my mouth until she demonstrated exactly why I didn’t want her near my baby. The most heavy-handed, unfeeling, aggressive administration of medication I have ever witnessed, angrily and childishly calling the doctor back in as though my questions and concerns are a burden. I had to stop this person from doing things to my cat because she had no idea how to properly administer oral medication to the point of where my cat, who badly needed fluids, vomited all over herself and her blanket - this person turned around and went to give her cerenia because she vomited as though she didn’t just blast my poor baby’s throat and she and I weren’t covered in vomit. She didn’t even have the basic sense to offer a paper towel, truly inhumane, just went on to give her IV fluids while twisting and forcing the fluids through the line so forcefully that I could feel the rush under her skin and asked her to please be easier, why was she in such a rush and can we acknowledge that she just vomited everywhere? No. And the most pathetic part was when the doctor came in and did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. He didn’t ask her to leave the room, he didn’t help me clean up my cat, he didn’t seem to care at all that a patient who was trusted to his care who needed fluids was being treated as though she were an object. Nothing. He told me to call him int he morning to speak “one-on-one” - no, especially not after what just took place and especially when this person is whispering about me as though I’m not in the same room lol. The only thing this person cared about was taking my payment, the quote she gave me was so off-base that I asked for her to please review it and after reviewing it the amount was over $100 less than she stated I would be charged. This person excels at absolutely nothing. And I still cannot believe the pathetic and totally incapable veterinarian who stood there and did NOTHING. I will be disputing the charge and making sure this never happens again if at all possible. My poor baby is so much worse than when I brought her and I am so glad I elected to stay with her. I was told she would have to wait to see a doctor and I accepted that, only to be put into a room less than 1 minute later. Unbelievable dereliction of basic business practices and unacceptable for a medical practice. I cannot imagine how bad that would have been if it had been someone with less knowledge and experience who crossed paths of these 2 extremely immature people.
Mar 15, 2025 · jsI don’t have a problem with paying for a service I ask for, the issue I have is the up charges, added things here and there, so when you receive your final bill, its much higher than what you expected to pay. I took my two small dogs in for a yearly appointment and was quoted by phone around $200 per dog and of course, once we were there, the charges were higher. By the time the visit was over, I paid $607. Add on top of that the monthly tick and flea medicine I was told I needed to get them which I ordered the next day via their pharmacy. Again, I don’t mind paying because we love our dogs and they really needed it. The issue lies with the lack of transparency and communication. Don’t hassle me for extra things and then try and pressure me to buy this and buy that, we came for an annual visit, shots and let’s go. Not to mention the wait time and awful wood like bench we had to sit in which felt like an eternity. What really made this review a 1 was today’s follow up. It turns out my dog had a follow up appointment which no one mentioned at our initial visit, and in addition to the $607 I paid 3 weeks ago, I was expected to pay an additional $57 again today for a follow up shot. In the past, I have been to offices that sell you or charge you a lump sum up front and then the visits after are all covered since you paid for the service up front. Transparency and communication nowadays is something we come to expect especially from companies where some can consider it to be a want and not a need. Be careful when using Hudspeth services, ask for prices up front, ask if any of the shots require additional visits and if their will be additional charges at said visit. Ask ask ask. And Hudspeth Macon, if your reading this, please remove the bench and add some comfortable seating.
