Checked in for my dog to get her vaccines. ALEXIS, the receptionist, looked like she was given news that today would be her last day or something! I waited while she was checking out another pet owner. She seemed like she just hates her job! Didn't smile or anything. I'm up next, said hi, she didn't say hi back . " Can you get her on the scale?" I was like, you ok? She said yes. I said, "You seem really upset , like you don't care to be here. You refuse to put a smile on." She said, "WELL I'M WORKING." I was like, wow, ok, well, it's a beautiful day, it's Friday. Be happy!" No response, but she raised her eyebrows. Clearly, she hates this job! I asked about boarding & said can you check as she has boarded here before" She says hum her vaccines are not updated!" I said hum I didn't ask you that, but clearly that's why I'm here!" She says no, she never stayed here. She mentioned our previous guinea pig Hum. Maybe if you weren't so mad and cared about your job and customers, you would of find it. I called my husband, and he confirmed that we did board here there! I asked AGAIN! An elderly lady with white hair was there also with a face bit no words were exchanged with her. SHE SAYS OH YEA I SEE IT HERE now!! HUM YEA AS I SAID! TO THE OWNER, I'm sure I left positive feedback previously, but today, you may want to rethink this receptionist. She's making customers rethink daw it in the previous customer! I definitely don't want to come back here & Lord knows I won't be boarding her, especially with the attitude! I will spread the word. Dr. was fine, & the tech that assisted him she had red hair and was the only nice one, even apologized for the receptionist's behavior, and said she would let the owner know! Totally disgusted!

The clinic can be contacted at (210) 695-4411 or +1 210-695-4411. Based on recent customer reviews, experiences at the clinic appear to vary, with notable mentions of both positive and negative interactions with staff.

One customer recounted a deeply moving experience involving the loss of their baby goat. This review highlighted the "love and compassion" shown by the nurses and the veterinarian towards the customer's son during a difficult time. The reviewer specifically mentioned a nurse embracing their son and explaining the situation with sensitivity. This experience led the customer to highly recommend Hooves & Paws, emphasizing that the care extended beyond just the animal to include the emotional support of the pet owner. This отзыв underscores a significant aspect of the clinic's approach – providing compassionate care during challenging circumstances.

In contrast, another customer reported a negative interaction with the receptionist, Alexis. This отзыв detailed an encounter characterized by a perceived lack of professionalism and a negative attitude. The customer described feeling unwelcome and noted a lack of basic customer service behaviors such as smiling or a simple greeting. The interaction reportedly involved confusion regarding the pet's boarding history and vaccine records, which the customer attributed to the receptionist's demeanor. This reviewer expressed significant dissatisfaction and indicated they would not be returning or recommending the clinic based on this experience. It is important to note that this отзыв also mentioned that the veterinarian and a specific veterinary technician with red hair were perceived as fine and nice, with the technician even apologizing for the receptionist's behavior.

As a "Pet Hospital," Hooves & Paws Veterinary Clinic likely provides a range of medical services for animals. Combining the platform category with the customer feedback, we can infer some of the potential services offered:

Vaccinations: The first negative review mentions the customer bringing their dog in for vaccinations, indicating that this is a service provided by the clinic.

General Veterinary Care: As a veterinary clinic, they would offer general health check-ups, diagnosis and treatment of illnesses, and preventative care for pets.

Euthanasia and Compassionate Care: The positive review highlights the compassionate support provided during the loss of a pet, suggesting that the clinic handles end-of-life care with sensitivity.

Boarding Services: The negative review inquired about boarding, indicating that this service is offered. However, the reviewer's negative experience with the receptionist led to a decision not to board their pet there.

Potential for Diverse Animal Care: While the reviews primarily focus on dogs and a goat, the name "Hooves & Paws" suggests they may care for a variety of animal species, potentially including both small companion animals and larger animals.

Features of Hooves & Paws Veterinary Clinic that can be gleaned from the reviews include:

Compassionate Staff (Veterinarian and Some Technicians): The positive review strongly emphasizes the compassion and empathy shown by the veterinarian and nurses, particularly in a sensitive situation.

Experienced Veterinarian: The first negative review mentions that "Dr. was fine," suggesting a competent and experienced veterinarian on staff.

Caring Technicians: The same review praised a specific red-haired technician for her politeness and apology for the receptionist's behavior, indicating that at least some of the technical staff are customer-focused.

However, the negative review also highlights a potential issue with front desk staff, which can significantly impact a customer's overall experience with a veterinary clinic.

Promotional information for Hooves & Paws Veterinary Clinic is not available in the provided text. Typically, veterinary clinics might offer promotions such as:

New Client Specials: Discounts on initial exams or vaccinations for new customers.

Seasonal Promotions: Reduced prices on services like heartworm or flea prevention during specific times of the year.

Package Deals: Bundled services for routine care, such as puppy or kitten packages that include vaccinations, deworming, and check-ups.

Senior Pet Discounts: Special pricing for the care of older animals.

Referral Programs: Incentives for existing clients who refer new customers.

Given the mixed feedback, local users in Helotes, TX, who are considering Hooves & Paws Veterinary Clinic as their "Pet Hospital" should weigh the reports carefully. The positive review highlights the clinic's capacity for empathy and compassionate care, particularly in emotionally challenging situations. The negative review, however, raises concerns about the professionalism and customer service provided by at least one member of the front desk staff, which can significantly affect a client's perception of the clinic. Potential clients may want to consider these contrasting experiences when making their decision. Visiting the clinic or making an initial phone call might provide further insight into the current environment and staff interactions.

In conclusion, Hooves & Paws Veterinary Clinic in Helotes, TX, offers veterinary services including vaccinations and boarding. My sons baby goat was very ill at check-in and unfortunately passed.. The love and compassion the nurses and Vet provided my son was beautiful to watch. She embraced my son while tears ran down his face and explained to him what happened and how life would have been had he lived. It wasn't just about caring for our goat it was also about caring for my son as well. I highly recommend Hooves & Paws! Rest in Peace baby Rex!

Unsolicited review! Every person I encountered today for an emergency visit, made me feel that they knew exactly what they were doing and were going do to exactly what was needed for my dog(Coco). They made time for everyone that came in to the lobby, and the tech that handled had EXCELLENT bedside manner and so many choices. She was sensitive to the fact this was unexpected cost, but kept my dog's health a priority. She took care of my dog and me offering tissues and water when I was upset.

I’ve been bringing my pets here since 2014 and they’ve always been helpful and super quick to get me an appointment when needed. Recently I moved and needed paperwork to bring my dog overseas with me and they were very knowledgeable about the process and took a lot of stress of me. Highly recommend!!

They were able to fit us in the same day for our 2 year old lab who was not acting herself. Glad we were able to take her when we did because she was sick! The Dr gave us a quick answer to what was going on with a few tests and a couple different options for treatment. We are very thankful for the entire staff, everyone was great!
