Took Badger for his heartworm test. The staff is so friendly and professional. Also when we walked in, like 8 cats greeted us! Badger was a little overwhelmed at first but he adjusted just fine. Overall, great place, people, and services. We're staying with Hometown Vet!

Based on the available customer reviews, Hometown Veterinary Clinic of Jacksonville appears to foster a welcoming and professional environment. One reviewer who brought their pet, Badger, for a heartworm test, specifically highlighted the "friendly and professional" nature of the staff. This suggests a team that is both competent in their veterinary duties and approachable in their interactions with pet owners. The reviewer also noted a unique aspect of the clinic's environment: upon entering, they were greeted by approximately eight cats. While this might be an unusual experience for some, the reviewer indicated that their dog, Badger, although initially overwhelmed, adjusted well. This detail suggests a multi-pet friendly atmosphere within the clinic.

The same review concluded with an overall positive impression, describing the clinic as a "great place, people, and services," and affirmed their intention to continue bringing their pet to Hometown Veterinary Clinic. This speaks volumes about the positive experience they had and the trust they developed in the clinic's ability to provide quality care.

Another customer shared that they drive a significant distance of 40 minutes to bring their pets to Hometown Veterinary Clinic. This act of traveling further than perhaps necessary indicates a high level of trust and satisfaction with the care provided. They explicitly stated their confidence that their "pups will get the best care" and that they "trust them explicitly." This testimonial underscores the clinic's reputation for providing excellent veterinary services and building strong relationships with pet owners.

This reviewer also mentioned having two dogs with different temperaments, one who is generally friendly and another who is "particular." They noted that both of their dogs are treated with the same level of "love, care, and patience" at Hometown Veterinary Clinic. This highlights the clinic's ability to cater to the individual needs and personalities of different animals, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience for all pets, even those who might be more anxious or less accepting of handling.

From these reviews, we can infer several positive aspects of Hometown Veterinary Clinic of Jacksonville. The staff is consistently described as friendly and professional, creating a welcoming atmosphere for both pets and their owners. The clinic appears to offer a range of services, as indicated by the heartworm test mentioned, and fosters an environment where pets with varying temperaments are treated with care and patience. The presence of resident cats might contribute to a unique and perhaps more home-like feel for some pet owners.

While the reviews provide valuable insights into the staff's demeanor and the general atmosphere, they do not explicitly detail all the services offered by this Pet Hospital. Typically, a veterinary clinic would provide services such as routine check-ups, vaccinations, diagnostics (like heartworm testing), dental care, surgical procedures, and potentially the sale of pet-related products like medications and specialized food. Based on the positive experiences shared, it is likely that Hometown Veterinary Clinic offers a range of these essential veterinary services.

The environment of Hometown Veterinary Clinic, as suggested by the reviews, seems to be friendly and welcoming. The presence of resident cats indicates a comfortable and perhaps more relaxed setting compared to clinics solely focused on dogs. This could be a unique feature that some pet owners and their animals might appreciate. However, without more information, a detailed description of the clinic's facilities is not possible.

Features that stand out based on the customer feedback include the friendly and professional staff, the apparent ability to handle pets with different temperaments with care and patience, and the unique welcoming committee of resident cats. I drive 40 minutes just so I can take my pups to Hometown Vet Clinic. I know they will get the best care and I trust them explicitly. I have one dog that loves anyone, but I have another that is … particular. They get treated with the same love, care, and patience.

In 2021, we noticed that the left eye of our 5 year old chihuahua mix, Trixie, was cloudy and constantly running. After multiple unsuccessful trips to our regular veterinarian to find out what was causing this, we decided to change veterinarians. I found Hometown Vet Clinic and scheduled an appointment. After examination, Dr. Barnett tested the pressure in Trixie’s eyes. She was diagnosed with severe glaucoma as well as cataract in her left eye and a more mild case of glaucoma and the beginnings of a cataract in her right eye. Severe glaucoma can be extremely painful and, after weighing the options, we decided it would be best to have her left eye removed. At this point, the vision in that eye was completely impaired. Surgery was performed and Trixie recovered well. Approximately 3 months later, while sedated for a teeth cleaning Dr. Barnett called to tell me that the glaucoma in Trixie’s other eye had progressed to a point where she was fearful that, if not removed, it would come out of the socket. Once I had composed myself and spoken with my husband, I gave the doctor the go ahead to remove the other eye to prevent the need for further sedation. Her right eye was removed and after a few touch and go days, Trixie began acting like herself again. She, now, gets around amazingly well, she plays, goes for walks and pretty much does everything he did before. Trixie also has a a nervous disposition which can cause her to have frequent stomach issues. Each time she has problems, we are generally able to get an appointment the next day, at the latest. I feel that Dr. Barnett and the entire staff at Hometown Veterinary Clinic truly care about the pets and families they serve and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Grateful for Hometown Vet & Dr B who have always provided good preventive care for our 4 cats but also recently when our baby needed a leg amputation Dr B and staff was so compassionate and willing to answer all my questions, text, & calls and to see us in office same day when he was having issues. We will forever be grateful for taking such great care of Omen and also for reassuring his moms that he is ok when we were crying messes in your office!
