Unfortunately they wouldn't work with us on our bill and refused to give my cat his medicine to prevent blood clots until we paid the back balance in full. It breaks my heart, we were paying what we could. It didn't matter if the cat needed it :(

Welcome to Holm Patricia J DVM

For pet owners in Rockford, IL, seeking a reliable "Pet Hospital" for their beloved companions, **Holm Patricia J DVM** offers veterinary care at 2515 Auburn St, Rockford, IL 61101, USA. This practice operates under the name Auburn Animal Clinic and is accessible by phone at (815) 965-5586 or via mobile at +1 815-965-5586. Dr. Patricia Holm, an experienced veterinarian with a D.V.M. degree from Iowa State University in 1982, has owned Auburn Animal Clinic since 2003, bringing decades of experience in mixed animal practice to the Rockford community.

While specific details about the **environment** of Holm Patricia J DVM (Auburn Animal Clinic) are not extensively detailed in the provided snippets, a general understanding of a veterinary clinic environment can be inferred. A professional pet hospital typically maintains a clean, sterile, and organized setting to ensure the health and safety of the animals it serves. This would include designated examination rooms, a reception area for clients and their pets, and potentially surgical suites, laboratory facilities, and boarding areas. The primary focus of such an environment is to minimize stress for the animals, provide a comfortable waiting experience for pet owners, and facilitate efficient and effective veterinary care. Given Dr. Holm's extensive experience and the nature of a medical facility, it is reasonable to expect a well-maintained and professional clinical environment designed for animal care.

The **services** provided by Holm Patricia J DVM, as a comprehensive "Pet Hospital," would generally encompass a wide range of veterinary care. These services typically include routine wellness examinations, vaccinations, parasite prevention and control, dental care, and nutritional counseling. Beyond preventative care, a full-service veterinary clinic like Auburn Animal Clinic would also offer diagnostic services such as blood work, urinalysis, digital radiography, and ultrasound to identify underlying health issues. Surgical procedures, ranging from routine spays and neuters to more complex soft tissue surgeries, are also standard offerings. Management of chronic conditions, pain management, and potentially specialized care for exotic pets like rabbits, as highlighted in one of the reviews, would also fall under their service umbrella. The review mentioning Dr. Holm saving a rabbit's life ("He's my little buddy and I wasn't ready to let him go. Thank you Dr. Holm.") indicates her expertise in treating a variety of animals, including smaller, more specialized pets. As part of a full-service practice, they would also offer guidance on pet behavior and provide emergency care during their operating hours, addressing acute illnesses or injuries.

The **features** of Holm Patricia J DVM that are most evident from customer feedback revolve around the expertise and dedication of Dr. Holm herself. One customer explicitly states, "Dr. Holm knew what she was doing and talking about. She saved my rabbit Bosley's life." This speaks to a high level of medical competence, a critical feature for any pet hospital. Dr. Holm’s long tenure in veterinary medicine, having graduated in 1982 and serving in various capacities before owning Auburn Animal Clinic, provides a strong foundation of experience. Her membership in various veterinary medical associations, including the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and local associations, also signifies a commitment to professional development and adherence to high standards of care. A key characteristic of a reputable "Pet Hospital" is the ability of its veterinarians to accurately diagnose conditions and implement effective treatment plans, which Dr. Holm appears to excel at, as evidenced by the successful treatment of Bosley the rabbit. Furthermore, her involvement with the Auburn Animal Clinic's partnership with the Remedies Program to provide shelter and care for animals of domestic violence victims showcases a community-minded and compassionate approach that extends beyond typical clinical duties. This ethical commitment to animal welfare and community service is a significant distinguishing feature.

Regarding **promotional information**, the provided customer reviews offer a mixed perspective. The positive review clearly highlights Dr. Holm's life-saving capabilities and her knowledge, which serves as strong word-of-mouth promotion for her expertise. Pet owners seeking a "Pet Hospital" value a veterinarian who is "knowledgeable" and "knows what she is doing." This testimonial directly appeals to owners with critically ill pets who need skilled intervention. On the other hand, the negative review regarding the refusal to provide medicine due to an unpaid balance presents a challenge. While it sheds light on a financial policy, which is common in healthcare, it could deter some potential clients looking for flexibility in billing. For a "Pet Hospital" to effectively promote itself, especially within the "Pet Hospital Near Me" category, it needs to balance its financial policies with perceived compassion and care. Promotions might focus on preventative care packages, new client discounts, or educational outreach programs for responsible pet ownership. Given that Auburn Animal Clinic is a founding member of the West Side Business Association in Rockford, they likely engage in local community initiatives which could also serve as indirect promotional activities, building goodwill and visibility within the area. Transparency about billing policies and options, alongside showcasing success stories and the depth of their medical expertise, would be crucial for future promotional efforts to attract and retain clients effectively.

Going here was an AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!!! Their prices are rediculously high!!!! My poor cat was misdiagnosed and I was told that he needed surgery which would cost at least $1.000. He DEFINITELY DID NOT NEED SURGERY!!!!! I THINK THEY ARE CON ARTISTS!!!!
