Very disappointed with this “vet” first I spent so much money for her to tell me that she uses a machine to give diagnoses . Then she has an “assistant” that handles all her work . She told me that she specializes in Cancer and that’s her specialty that she has more than 90 % success ratio . I paid more than 350 for the first consultation told me to order the products from her website because that way she does not have write prescriptions. When it comes to supplements since when people need prescriptions . I spent a lot of money on those supplements . Things got worse for my doggie . When I called her for a follow up all she said was that it was weird that she didn’t understand why , then she sent me to purchase other things . Meanwhile she sends newsletters almost every day advertising conventional medications . When she’s supposed to be into homotherapy . She didn’t do nothing for my dog nor even follow up to see how my baby was doing . Please check her credentials with the vet association before dealing with her . Totally a wasted time and money . I DO NOT RECOMMEND HER TO ANYBODY .

Welcome to Holistic Veterinary Services
For pet owners in New Paltz, New York, Holistic Veterinary Services, led by Dr. Michele Yasson, DVM, offers a unique and specialized approach to animal healthcare. Located at 10 Main St, New Paltz, NY 12561, USA, this practice focuses on integrative veterinary medicine, combining conventional and alternative therapies. You can contact them at (845) 338-3300 or via mobile at +1 845-338-3300 for appointments and inquiries.
Holistic Veterinary Services operates within the "Pet Hospital" category, signifying its role as a facility providing medical care for animals. However, its distinguishing characteristic is its emphasis on holistic and integrative methods. Established in 1987, HolVet is recognized as one of the oldest holistic veterinary practices in the U.S. This classification positions it as a clinic that aims to bridge the gap between traditional Western veterinary medicine and various complementary and alternative therapies, seeking the most effective treatment for a pet's current condition by exploring all available options.
The environment at Holistic Veterinary Services, as described by the practice itself, is one where they are "proud to serve the New Paltz NY area for everything pet related." They emphasize a commitment to "educating our clients in how to keep your pets healthy year round, with good nutrition and exercise." While specific details about the waiting room or exam room aesthetics are not extensively provided, the focus on loving care during "every check-up, procedure, or surgery" suggests an environment that aims to be nurturing and supportive for both pets and their owners. The practice strives to stay abreast of "the latest advances in veterinarian technology" while upholding the principle that "all animals and pets need to be treated with loving care."
The services offered at Holistic Veterinary Services, particularly under the guidance of Dr. Michele Yasson, are centered around an integrative and holistic philosophy. These services include, but are not limited to:
Veterinary Homeopathy: A core service, focusing on individualized treatment plans based on homeopathic principles to stimulate the body's natural healing processes.
Acupuncture: A traditional Chinese veterinary medicine (TCVM) technique involving the insertion of fine needles into specific points to alleviate pain and promote healing.
Herbal Therapy: Utilizing the healing properties of plants and herbs, often as an alternative or complementary treatment to conventional medications.
Nutritional and Dietary Counseling: Emphasis on natural, species-appropriate, and individually customized diets, recognizing the fundamental role of nutrition in overall health and disease management.
Supplements: Recommendation and provision of holistic, alternative, and natural supplements to support various bodily functions and address deficiencies.
Specialization in Severe and Chronic Disease, Especially Cancer: Dr. Yasson's practice has a reported emphasis on these challenging conditions, utilizing various holistic approaches, including the herbal chemotherapy agent Neoplasene.
Wellness and Preventive Care: While focusing on complex cases, they also aim to provide "great, healthy starts for puppies and kittens," suggesting comprehensive preventive care is integrated into their holistic approach.
Phone Consultations: A significant aspect of Dr. Yasson's practice, with "Ninety-five percent of her work has been accomplished over the years very successfully by phone consultation," indicating a reach beyond local in-person visits and a strong emphasis on remote guidance.
A distinctive feature of Holistic Veterinary Services is the long-standing expertise and pioneering role of Dr. Michele Yasson in the field of alternative and holistic veterinary medicine. As one of the oldest holistic practices in the U.S., it signifies a deep commitment and extensive experience in these modalities. Dr. Yasson is described as an "elder and a pioneer" in the field, with a focus on treating the root cause of disease rather than just alleviating symptoms. Her method involves evaluating each case with an eye on "curing your pet." The practice's stated emphasis on "more than 90% success ratio" in cancer treatment, though this is a claim that requires individual assessment, highlights their confidence in their specialized approach to complex illnesses.
However, it is crucial to present a balanced perspective, as customer experiences can vary significantly. One detailed review expresses significant disappointment and concern. This client recounts spending a considerable amount of money on an initial consultation and supplements, feeling misled by a diagnostic machine, and perceiving a lack of personal follow-up or understanding when their dog's condition worsened. The review also questions the consistency of the practice's "homotherapy" focus when conventional medications are advertised in newsletters. The client's strong negative sentiment, including a lack of trust and a recommendation to "check her credentials with the vet association," points to a disparity between the client's expectations and the actual experience, particularly regarding communication, perceived financial motivation, and follow-up care. This highlights the importance of thorough personal research and careful consideration for individuals seeking specialized holistic care, as the nature of these therapies and their outcomes can be subject to different interpretations and expectations.
In terms of promotional information, Holistic Veterinary Services promotes its unique holistic and integrative approach, distinguishing itself from conventional veterinary practices. Their long history and Dr. Yasson's pioneering status in the field are key promotional points. The website likely serves as the primary informational hub, detailing their philosophy, services, and approach to various conditions. The emphasis on phone consultations also acts as a promotional tool, extending their reach to clients who may not be local but are seeking specialized holistic care. While the practice claims a high success rate in specific areas like cancer treatment, prospective clients should approach such claims with due diligence and discuss their specific needs and expectations thoroughly during initial consultations. The clinic's communication channels, including phone at (845) 338-3300 and +1 845-338-3300, are provided for direct engagement, allowing individuals to explore whether their specialized services align with their pet's needs and their personal preferences for veterinary care.
