Dr. Wahl and team spent almost an hour and a half with us for my 2 dog’s new patient intake appointment. I really appreciated the very thorough exam and that at no point did we feel rushed to get through it. He made sure to answer all my questions and concerns providing reassurance and counsel where appropriate. Really amazing partner in maintaining my pets’ health and wellbeing - so glad to have found Highlands Animal Clinic and Dr Wahl. Very reasonable prices.

Feb 07, 2025 · Jonathan ODonnellI never thought I would be writing this review. I have taken all 3 of my cats here for routine care over the years. I believe we have been clients since 2021 or so. Recently, I have been dealing with skin issues with my new kitten. We went to the vet here and one of the doctors immediately ruled out food allergies, without even a skin scrape or results from anything else. I felt very dismissed. I had to go to another vet twice for a second (and third) opinion on what to do for my poor kitten's skin. We are on the mend with everything but I just had a bad experience with that appointment. With my late cat, Hazel, we were "frequent flyers" at HAC. She had a series of skin issues, asthma, and more. They provided decent care but I can't help but think they kept bringing us back to collect more and more money. When Hazel finally developed diabetes, we decided to go on an oral medication to treat it vs insulin. After about a year of her being on this medication, she got very sick, VERY quickly. Turns out this medication can cause kidney disease and that was her official diagnosis from the emergency vet on her last day. The doctor did not go over the risks with us prior to taking that medication and didn't seem as alarmed with her symptoms over the phone when she started to go downhill. She ended up passing away at the emergency vet, but I am so glad we were there. (VEG is amazing - every location - every doctor - every staff). I believe Hazel probably had kidney disease much longer than just a few days and no one seemed to want to look further into the matter. They seemed shocked that she passed away last time I called. She was a 15-year-old diabetic cat, I understand that can shorten a lifespan, but I can't help but wonder if she would still be here today, had we gone the insulin route. Some of the doctors here are great, some are not. I believe it's really hit-or-miss which shouldn't be the case with any doctor's office. We trust them with our babies. The doctors I have dealt with more recently seemed to dismiss my concerns and not explore all proper avenues. Cost has always been an issue for me and I always got the vibe they were annoyed or somehow bothered by that. They are bugging me more for a missed appointment fee than they ever called to check in on Hazel or the new kitten. It's obviously not just me, read the other poor reviews! After several years here, we are finding a new provider. And, I am not paying that missed appointment fee.
Feb 13, 2025 · Hannah WhiteDr. Anderson and the rest of the team at Highlands Animal Clinic have shown nothing but the utmost care, compassion and professionalism to us over the years, especially during the last months of our sweet Biscuit's life. Thank you guys for everything - this is truly a special place.
Nov 10, 2024 · Gina HenschenLet me preface this by saying I don't have pets, probably will never be inside but drinking coffee across the street and simple musings at the most fairy cottage looking veterinarians clinic office was all it took for locals getting their own coffees and breakfast bites to exclaim how wonderful not only is the atmosphere but being able to bring their doggos there just blocks from home and work and there isn't many places especially in the big city where such glowing and happy exclamation will be heard that I truly hope I can bring a friend's pet down just to go Inside, not that I want a friends pet to be feeling unwell, surely one needs a check up or trimmed nails or something. Just look at the place and try to tell me you don't want it to be the next place you bring the furry ones.
