Hickory Ridge Animal Hospital

After a horrible experience at another local vet, we are so happy with Hickory Ridge - they have worked to solve any underlying issues with our dog and as first time dog owners, appreciate all the advice and non-judgmental conversations. The staff there are so kind, and appreciate being able to utilize their pharmacy and lab as well!

2025: The front desk, back of house, and primary DVM we had been seeing for years were wonderful, but sadly have all left. The costs have increased. I know they’re doing their best but the care style is no longer a match for our family. 2020: Fantastic and caring staff. We LOVE Dr. Parrish. They don’t try to up sell services and their rates are very fair; even medication prices are more competitive than online! Never more than a few minutes wait, and easy to get appointments. They put the care of our pets first. Sadly we have had to reach out for emergency care, then end of life care... but the whole team was empathetic and understanding when we were weighing our pup’s options. Hopefully we will be visiting for many years with our silly (new) puppy and her “big bro” ;)

The staff is wonderful. The friendly and comforting feeling that I had leaving my dog for her annual exam. They explained step by step what they were going to do. Afterwards the veterinarian called thoroughly went over the whole exam process and gave results. When I picked her up just the care and comfort the staff showed me and my pet was just awesome. I live very close to another vet hospital but since day 1 over 2 years ago I chose Hickory Ridge over Rocky Gorge and would do it again.

They are very informative and helpful with every visit we go to for our dog. Even though our dog is a nervous mess with arthritis they work to make sure they can get their procedures done, effectively communicate to me what's going on and why, and have been easy to work with!

I owe Dr. Hals and her team at Hickory Ridge endless thanks for saving my dog. In mid-December last year ('24), Luna stopped wanting to eat her dog food. An unusual thing for her considering she’s always been a stable eater for the past 10.5 years we’ve been together. After very frustrating visits to our previous vet, seeking many second opinions, lots of time/money and lost weight - I followed my gut in searching and ultimately employing this new vet (Hickory Ridge) entirely. Our new team there discovered what was evidently a large mass expanding over my girl’s spleen and she needed an emergency splenectomy. We went in for X-rays + a confirmation ultrasound, and then went straight into emergency abdominal surgery ... the future is a an anxious pathology report (as of now). If it weren't for this fabulous vet office, my dog could have ended in a life threatening situation. Our previous vet passed us off with unnecessary and unrelated medications where Dr. Hals and her staff did everything they could to investigate properly to try and identify the actual reason. Please, look no further. I promise you that Hickory Ridge Animal Hospital is where you and your pet need to be!!
