Dr. Heekin and her team at Heekin Animal Hospital are truly one of a kind. Over the years, we’ve entrusted all four of our dogs to her care, each with their own unique health challenges, and every single time, she has gone above and beyond. She is not only incredibly knowledgeable and thorough, but also compassionate and thoughtful in a way that makes all the difference. She takes her time with both pets and owners, talking through concerns, explaining options, and ensuring we feel confident in the best path forward. She’s a true problem solver who genuinely cares. Her vet techs are equally amazing—kind, patient, and so gentle with our dogs, always making them feel safe and comfortable. It’s clear that this entire team is driven by love for the animals they treat. Even after moving back to the east side of Cincinnati, we never once considered finding another vet. The drive to Taylor Mill is worth it a hundred times over because there is simply no one else like Dr. Heekin. We are so grateful to have her caring for our dogs and can’t recommend her and her team highly enough.

Dr. Heekin and her staff are just wonderful! They take such wonderful care of my pup and Dr. Heekin is very thorough in her care. My dog gets EXCITED when we go to the vet! I love having peace of mind knowing I have a place I can trust, and that he is in such good hands.

Like everyone else I love my pet like a family member. She is an important member of our family and has brought us such love and joy. Fancy is an eight year old Pomeranian and Dr. Heekin has been her veterinarian since we got her at 12 weeks old. In every encounter with Dr. Heekin and her staff I have found them to be without exception the most courteous, caring and professional in their dealings. They have cared for and advised Fancy’s healthcare and I am beyond well pleased. Recently Fancy was attacked by a German Shepherd in our neighborhood and required quite a lot of treatment. Dr. Heekin and her staff were there for her and turned the situation around for her. Dr. Heekin even called after regular hours to see how she was doing. I could not recommend them more emphatically or enthusiastically. They are great and I thank God they are there for Fancy.

20+ years with Dr. Jody Heekin, treating several cats over time. Her focus on quality of life and overall health is excellent, ditto her communication skills with pet owners. She also invests her time in research of preventative and remedial care developments and techniques. Of all the vets we've encountered over 40 years, she is absolutely the best.
