I do not recommend bringing your pet here until management changes their scheduling practices and/or hires more vets. For the last 8 days, I have been asking to have a phone call to ask follow-up questions regarding my dog’s routine visit. I am always told the vet is in back-to-back appointments and that I can call the emergency vet instead. This is not how things were when I first started visiting this vet, so something has changed and needs to be addressed. Their new practice of communicating results via email does not allow for questions to be adequately answered. It also means I received contradictory advice from the three different doctors answering emails. Really hoped this would be our vet so close to our new home, but their management practices do not allow the talented vets and very kind vet techs to give sufficient quality of care. Im writing this review in hopes of the management team implementing changes so that vets can sufficiently communicate with their patients. Otherwise, this review serves as a heads up to other pet parents so that they can know what they’re getting into.

Jan 16, 2025 · Chandler RockAfter four years with this vet, I can no longer recommend them. It seems like they frequently rotate doctors, and the quality of care has declined. After a diet change, I brought my dog in for common diarrhea and vomiting symptoms. Dr. Rosen immediately pushed for a series of expensive tests and imaging without even examining her first—no physical exam, no temperature check, nothing that would justify such extensive testing. It was a clear money grab. After I pushed back and requested that we try less invasive treatments like fluids and bland diet (she had already tested negative for parasites), he tried to pressure me into signing an AMA (Against Medical Advice) form for declining the unnecessary procedures. When I refused, he then handed me an itemized bill—something I had never been asked to sign in the four years my dog has been a patient. It quickly became clear why: he had sneakily added a blurb with the same wording as the AMA. To make matters worse, when I reviewed the bill, I found additional treatments that we had never discussed. When I questioned him about it, he interrupted me and walked out of the room mid-sentence. He refused to provide even basic care. She was visibly dehydrated, and he refused to give her fluids. If you're wondering who Dr. Rosen is—he’s the bitter guy with long hair - though he’s losing most of it on top, he's still on holding on the ponytail. If you're looking for better care, go to Bond. Avoid this place.
Feb 03, 2025 · Janah Elise CoxEveryone at Heart of Brooklyn has been so kind and compassionate with us and our very sensitive dog. Today I bought him in for an emergency and they fit us in so quickly and were so understanding and warm when he was having a hard time and feeling stressed out. They let me come with him to help him calm down and they were very clear about how to go forward and offered to follow up with us the next day. The generosity they showed to us will not soon be forgotten. Thank you!
Sep 18, 2024 · Alex KahnI have a 100 lb pitbull that is so anxious at the Vet that our previous practice said that on his last visit that his annual visits should be every 3-5 years because he is so difficult (he was voted their worst patient). To just examine him they would have to put him under. We came today with a very sick dog to the Heart of Brooklyn Vet and the doctors were so compassionate and patient with him that they were able to really examine him, take blood, blood pressure, urine sample.... without having to sedate him. The staff were awesome. I am so happy that Buddy has found his place. It is a huge relief for all of us.
Aug 13, 2024 · Annie BassinAs a first time cat person, I was referred by another animal clinic. I now understand why. The staff took the time and energy to answer all my questions and concerns. The vet was excellent and his bedside manner was kind and caring. Who knew animal care was like this 👍🏾. The price was comfortable and they even gave Mr.Handsome a comp nail clip. My cat even received a follow up text. I scheduled further vet care because the service was prompt and easy. Delighted! Look's like he has a vet.
